The fanfiction Danganronpa: The World Beneath Us is an ongoing title by the author Rayy 12. The story follows Setsuo Asahara, the Ultimate Ethical Hacker, who is trapped in an abandoned skyscraper, coupled with fifteen other Ultimates, who are forced to play in a Mutual Killing Game (Killing Fanfare) against their will.

Setsuo Asahara (節男朝原), protagonist: A driven, generally compassionate, idealistic type boy who serves as the protagonist of Danganronpa: TWBU. His Ultimate talent is the Ultimate Ethical Hacker. Although his thoughts and actions can sometimes be perceived as a little sarcastic or blunt, his heart for others extends upon his own. He seems idealistic at first glance, but what he’s really looking for is a perfect plan to try to help others & get out - being a perfectionistic-type individual. He can make bonds easily, although he’s not one to immediately show his deepest colors for the entire world to see. Insightful and charismatic at his best, and perfectionstic & unintentionally manipulative at his worst.

Remy Hitomaro: A seemingly relaxed, extroverted, and rhythmic guy - Remy takes pleasure in pretty much everything. His title is the Ultimate DJ, or disk jockey. He doesn’t collapse under stress and tries to make the best of every situation; opting to hang out with others rather than stay in his own dorm. Remy prioritizes social status over intelligence, and is aware that he’s not the most intelligent either (joking about it frequently.)
