Danganronpa Rogue: New Hope
is an ongoing fanfiction story by KISL based on the Danganronpa universe. It's been years since the Tragedy and versions of the infamous Killing Game have taken the world by storm. In this special imitation, 16 students battle against a trial of life and death, trust and betrayal, and ultimately—a mastermind that schemes amongst them.
Warning: Unmarked spoilers inbound for Chapter 1 'Experimenting With Deadly Precautions'.
- You Wake Up in a Room: Pretty much the prologue.
- Absence of Evidence: Mayu brings up the importance of absence during the Chapter 1 investigation, and in the trial, it resurfaces as Akito's pinging Shufukupad.
- Red Herring: Saturn's dagger in the Chapter 1 trial. This raised questions as to the culprit's motive and method of killing.
- Body of the Week: Every Chapter, someone ends up dead. Such is the Danganronpa tradition.
- Motivated by Fear: The whole reason Akito camped out in the Warden's Room: to spy on everyone and prevent a potential murder. The motive's reveal prompted him to take drastic measures, resulting in his death.
- Chekhov's Gun: For the 1st trial, Saturn's dagger and Akito's Shufukupad, much less the Pad's pinging mechanic.
- The Game's rules also play a role in the quote-unquote murder of the 1st Chapter.
