His father and her mother were enemies but these two are the best of friends and they protect the City of Somewhere from all sorts of horrors... and Dr. Bellaluna.
Courage the Cowardly Dog JR is a supernatural horror comedy action "sequel" to Courage the Cowardly Dog That is a mix of the original series and the Anime GeGeGe no Kitarō Written by Technomaru.

The fanfic is planning a final chapter and then a sequel series/soft reboot called "Courage the Cowardly Dog Jr. Returns"


Tropes that appear in the series:

  • Anti-Anti-Christ: The Princess of the Pink Puddle is the daughter of The Queen of the Black Puddle but unlike her she refuses to eat humans and has turned on her if it means keeping her new friends safe.
  • Berserk Button: Do not harm nor threaten human children in front of Bellaluna.
    • If anyone threatens Courage Jr., expect Princess and Hanako to not take it VERY well!
    • Courage Jr. really hates it when anyone bad mouths his father.
  • Big Bad: Voodoo Sorceress Dr. Chien Bellaluna is Courage Jr.'s archnemesis
    • Katz and his daughters Katrina and Katherine are built up to be this.
  • Big Good: Courage Sr. and Shirley the Medium
  • Crossover: with “Batman Brave and the Bold”.
    • Ed, Edd, n Eddy is established as a TV series in this world but one chapter had Junior dream he was in their world.
    • A special non-canon CN anniversary chapter involves Courage Sr playing poker with Huckleberry Hound, Jake the Dog, Hong Kong Phooey, Scooby Doo, and Muttley.
    • A version of “Crossover Nexus” is in the works where Courage Jr. teams up with Ed, Numbuh 362, Sibella Dracula, and Shazam.
    • The Author is considering a crossover with GeGeGe no Kitarō.
  • Cute Ghost Girl: Hanako, a friendly Japanese ghost girl.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Courage Jr. eventually learns that not all monsters are evil, especially The Princess of the Pink Puddle!
  • Enemy Mine: There are times Courage Jr is forced to team up with Bellaluna when they encounter a much more fiendish foe
    • Junior, Princess, and Katz's twin daughters Katherine and Katrina were forced to team up in one chapter.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Dr Chien Bellaluna has quite a list!
    • She absolutely refuses to harm innocent human children under the age of 13 and will go berserk if she finds out if anyone did.
    • She might be a burglar and a thief but she makes sure Murder isn't on her criminal record.
    • Word of God says if Bellaluna discovered what her Uncle Eustace is like towards Courage Sr. especially the "Ball of Revenge" incident, she would be disgusted. Ironically some of the creeps in that episode has worked with her.
    • In the Series Fauxnale she was So disgusted with the fact she accidentally released a mirror demon that after the creature was sealed she willingly turned herself in to Law Enforcement.
    • Despite being a voodoo Sorceress she refuses to make deals with demons knowing their backstabbing nature.
      • Due to her history of criminal activity and harming animals, not even The Gentleman Ghost wanted to claim Bellaluna’s Soul.
  • Expy:
    • Courage Jr. is one of his father and Kitaro.
    • Dr. Bellaluna was inspired by Dr. Facilier from “The Princess and the Frog” and Magica Despell from “Uncle Scrooge” comics.
    • Violet Mcpherson is one for “The McPherson Phantom”.
    • Manta the Nekomanta is one for Manta from “Shaman King”.
    • Hanako the Japanese toilet ghost was meant to be a tamer version of Toilet Hanako from “Haunted Junction”.
  • Irony/ Long-Lost Relative:
    • Dr. Bellaluna is the daughter of Fred the Barber and thus she is the grandniece of Eustace and Muriel. This means she has a connection to the Courage father and son.
    • Fred the Barber thinks shaving Courage Sr’s tail off is weird, but Bellaluna wants to cut off Courage Jr’s tail.
  • Jerkass Has a Point/ Lampshade Hanging: In Chapter 25 when Bellaluna was attacked at the former Bagge Farm she points out, ""WHAT KIND OF BRAIN-DEAD MORONS WOULD CONTINUE TO LIVE IN THIS HOUSE WHEN ALL THE FREAKY MESSED UP STUFF KEEPS HAPPENING ALL THE TIME! It's no wonder why the puppy's father is a such a scaredy-dog, he kept protecting those senile old farts!"
  • Loophole Abuse: Dr. Bellaluna refuses to attack innocent human children under the age of 13. Monster children are exceptions because in her own words, “They have superpowers, they can just defend themselves! They are fair game!”
  • Papa Wolf: Despite Courage Sr. Constantly hiding to keep his family safe he will be this if his son is in huge danger.
