"Where Only The Elite Survive"

Character Championship Wrestling is a Fan Fic by Ninja Cato that features fictional characters and some real life personalities in a Professional Wrestling company. Characters from different mediums such as Anime & Manga, Western Animation, Comic Books, Live-Action TV, and Real Life wrestle in matches for Championships and compete in rivalries just like real life companies.

Originally on Fanfiction.Net, it was taken down by admins in the middle of 2013. The author then relocated to Archive Of Our Own. He is currently uploading every chapter of the story onto the site.

Read the story here.

This fanfic contains examples of:

  • A God Am I: Gwen Tennyson professes herself to be a "Wrestling Goddess", by virtue of a) being the first woman to win a Hell in a Cell Match and b) narrowly avoiding death in defeating Chell at Meltdown in their Sadistic Madness Match.
  • Absurdly High-Stakes Game: The "I Quit" Match made at CCW Enmity for the Females Championship. If Emmy was victorious, she would erase Gwen Tennyson's "second" reign as CCW Females Champion (starting from Ozone 14 and ending at Day of Reckoning) from CCW history, making Emmy the second Females Champion from Cataclysm onward. If Gwen was victorious, she would erase BOTH of Emmy's Championship reigns from CCW history (Cataclysm to Ozone 14; Day of Reckoning to Enmity), making Gwen the First and Only Females Champion.
  • Adaptational Villainy: What generally happens when a character who was a hero in their home series is picked to become a heel. This is especially evident with the Tennyson cousins; Ben goes from noble hero to one of the championship’s biggest heels, and Gwen...oh, where do we start with Gwen?
  • Amazon Brigade: The Double X Roster
  • All or Nothing: Per Meltdown's events, Dan Kuso was scheduled to face Deathstroke at CCW Nevermore for the Universal Championship...but, on a quest for redemption for what he did to his lady friend May, he decided to put his Gold in the Fort Briefcase that he earned at Best in the World on the line as well.
    • Regal Rumble saw another example with the Winners Take All Elimination Tag Match for the CCW Universal and Tag Team Championships – Doc Louis Productions (Aran Ryan vying for the Universal Title, the Forces of Nature defending their Tag Titles, and Sportacus competing for #1 Contention for the Universal Title) versus Dan Kuso (defending his Universal Championship), The Dragon Kids (fighting for the Tag Titles), and Shun Kazami (vying for #1 Contenion for the Universal Championship).
  • All Periods Are PMS: Gwen Tennyson is already a pissed off little demon in a girl's body. Mix that in with her irrational menstrual cycle that seems to seems to occur every five seconds, and you have a monster only her boyfriend can stop. Also played for laughs and exaggerated when, once she was pranked due to an inter-company rivalry, she began to bleed uncanny amounts of blood from her...Yeah...
  • All There in the Manual: The Roster List complete with everyone's Theme Songs/Signatures/Finishers are posted in Chapter 1
  • Almost Kiss: Dan Kuso and May. The former had hit the latter due to May not being able to keep her mouth shut as to when Dan would cash in his Gold in the Fort Briefcase. Dan would go through a month of continuously beating himself up for the punch and tried to prove himself by beating Deathstroke and putting his Universal Title Belt and his Briefcase on the line. After Dan won, the two were about to kiss, when Aran Ryan cashed in his Jackpot Briefcase and beat Dan for The Universal Championship.
  • Alpha Bitch: Gwen Tennyson to the point of it being her nickname. When she isn't crushing the dreams of six year olds or edging by with victories in her matches, she's bullying the females’ locker room and extending her self-appointed authority across the company. She frequently belittles every roster member with literally every chance she gets, even sometimes forcing in an insult even when the situation barely calls for one, just to do it. The epitome of the trope in the story.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: Mystique Sonia delivering a Diving Double Foot Stomp off of the top of a ladder, sending Bubbles and Buttercup through two stacked tables during their Mayhem Match at Nevermore. The move earned copious screams of awe from the commentators and the fans. It also gave Blossom enough time to recover, stop Jenny from pulling down the Women's Tag Team Championship Belts, and win the match for the Powerpuffs.
  • Author Appeal: Cato always starts his shows with the line "Carthage Must Be Destroyed", tying in with his penchant for Roman history and the luminary Cato the Elder.
  • Bad Boss: Zero Kazama doesn't take kindly to his superstars losing in crossovers or the FWAs, and often makes the entire roster suffer if they blunder. It's to the point his strict adherence to the motto "Where Only the Elite Survive" has instilled an elitist mindset in many of the roster, turning them into self-important jackasses (Gwen, Ben, the Powerpuff Girls, Sportacus, the Brain Trust, if you want just a few examples).
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Many times in CCW, the heel walks away with the win.
    • Ben runs over Autolycus and injures him for over a year. What does he get? A World Title.
    • Gwen got away with ruining a six year old's dream and regularly gets away with being an unbearable Enfant Terrible
    • PPG "killing" The Wakeman Sisters and hurting Jenny's mom. Their comeuppance? Retaining The Female's Tag Team Titles in Jenny & Sonia's last chance at regaining their Titles.
    • Gwen again at XX 18: She opens the show by stabbing Jonathan, she nearly breaks Mystique Sonia's leg before her match against Lisa Simpson, and when Commissioner Gordon attempts to make her pay for her misdeeds by firing her, Gwen uses her magic to attack Gordon then burns him alive before forcing Woody Paige to sign an ironclad contract ensuring her continuing employment and reign as CCW Females Champion.
  • Because Destiny Says So: The crux of Lisa Simpson's presence in CCW...and, apparently, her incoming tag team partner as well.
  • Big "NO!": Gwen's reaction to Emmy's return on XX 14, seeing her face-to-face for the first time since Enmity.
  • Came Back Strong: On CCW XX 14, when Emmy made her return to CCW to the shock of Zoe Payne and dismay of Gwen Tennyson.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: Jonathan, whenever his brother Jeremy goes into one of his Disco Kid fanboy fits.
  • Crippling the Competition: This IS Professional Wrestling, so this is a common trope. Notable examples being Gwen taking out Emmy and Ben taking out Autolycus.
  • Diabolus ex Machina: The main event of CCW Pandemonium between Females Champ Gwen Tennyson, Jenny Wakeman and Aelita Schaeffer. The two challengers went into the match wanting to leave as Champion, but more so to make sure that the evil scourge known as Gwen did NOT leave as Champion. This eventually led to the two of them teaming up to take Gwen permanently out of the equation via a Double Superplex all the way outside of the ring onto an announce table; this is followed by a Spear through the timekeeper's area's barricades (Aelita) and a barrage of steel steps being thrown upon her for good measure. With Gwen incapacitated, that left Jenny and Aelita to fight it out one-on-one...and when the bell sounded as Jenny held Aelita in an STF, the party was on. There was a NEW CCW Females Champion at longest last...until the referee told Jenny that he never called for the bell. Turns out that, whilst buried underneath the rubble, GWEN herself had the wherewithal to ring the bell herself to trick Jenny into letting go of her hold in false victory. While this got sorted out, suddenly out came a collection of females wearing blue cloaks and led by a ten-year-old Kai Green. They proceeded to attack the Teenage Robot whilst freeing Gwen from the rubble she was trapped under. Jenny was able to fend off the members of this newly-arriving cult of Gwen Ten...but not able to avoid a mid-air Superkick and Hocus Pocus for the 1-2-3. There went the happy ending.
  • Drinking the Kool-Aid: Gwen Ten's proclamation to Emmy: "I don’t buy you as Females Champion. I don’t buy into you as pioneer of females wrestling. I don’t drink the Kool-Aid, Emmy!"
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Ben Tennyson, CCW's top heel, was in tears after his cousin's Sadistic Madness Match at Meltdown, a match which sent Gwen into a coma. He had to carry her—Championship Belt and all—from the ring and into an ambulance to a local Las Vegas hospital.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Despite the above Even Evil Has Loved Ones, Ben Tennyson opens up the first Ozone after XX 18 by stating that even he felt Gwen's stabbing Jonathan and immolating Commissioner Gordon went too far.
  • Evil Redhead: Gwen Tennyson
  • Evil vs. Evil: Ben Tennyson vs Tom Brady at Pandemonium and Regal Rumble.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Zero Kazama, the current general manager. Gwen may be the one with a cult but Kazama ultimately has the authority to make everyone's careers (hers included) a living hell if they slight him.
  • Hatedom: An In-Universe Example. Jonathan Ellis HATES HATES HATES Disco Kid, and makes a point of it to mention this everytime his name is brought up. His brother Jeremy finds this to be a case of Hate Dumb.
  • Hero Antagonist: Ben Tennyson.
  • Hero Killer
    • Gwen Tennyson's Curb Stomp at Enmity sent Emmy on the shelf for three months en route to erasing the PBS Kid's Title reigns from CCW Females Championship history.
    • Ben Tennyson's vehicular rundown of Autolycus put him on the shelf for a whole year minimum, freeing up the Tenth Wonder to retake the CCW Magnus Championship.
  • Hero Looking for Group: After Lucy Van Pelt, Bella Swan, and Zoe Payne form the END, Emmy decides to seek out some allies for herself to beat them; namely, Reggie Rocket and Annie Frazier.
  • Heroic BSoD: Emmy had already undergone a large share of both physical and emotional distress, so much so that at Pride & Glory she declared that she "had to change" for the sake of saving CCW and XX from the forces of The END—most notably Zoe Payne—and Gwen Tennyson. She came to the Regal Rumble as a darkened six-year-old warrior, a complete contrast from the vibrance and liveliness of the Emmy CCW once knew. The "Hija de Los Muertos (Daughter of the Dead)" went on to survive until the final two of the XX Regal Rumble, along with Zoe…but just when Emmy was planning to punt Zoe in the head much like Zoe had done her at Pandemonium, she was interrupted by four of Gwen Tennyson's Druids…who revealed themselves to be PBS Kids themselves. Emmy, upon seeing her own network compatriots aligned with the devil who had been terrorizing her and PBS itself almost endlessly, was left frozen where she stood, unable to react to anything, the one clearest sign of vulnerability she had shown the entire night. The Dragoncrow was all but inert…which left her open for Kai Green to assail her from behind with a Revelation, which in turn led to Zoe Payne recovering, punting Emmy in the skull again, and leveling her with a Take a Nap en route to pinning her for the Rumble's final elimination. And thus Zoe Payne had earned the CCW Females Championship Match at Zenith, leaving behind a forlorn, seemingly empty shell of the "Unbreakable" one.
  • Homage: Almost a homage to self with this example. When the Dragon Kids overcame the Forces of Nature at Pandemonium to win their first World Tag Team Championship, Al Michaels made the call, "DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?! YES!" which was the EXACT same call he himself made when he, in real life, called the Miracle on Ice hockey game between the underdog United States and the Soviet Union at the 1980 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Gwen has a case of this, especially when no one is paying attention to her...or paying any form of attention to Emmy.
  • Jerkass: Too many to name. From Ben to Gwen to Doc Louis to Tom Brady to Jillian Michaels, CCW is flooded with them as heels.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: During a promo where Gordon discussed Ben's behavior and his crusade, Ben began to point out everything that went wrong with CCW, starting with Gordon becoming Commissioner of CCW. From there, he began to point out how CCW's track record in inter-promotional matches was piss poor and how he and The Belt were beginning to be looked at as a joke. The thing is....he made a very good point.
  • Karma Houdini: Could very well be Gwen Tennyson's middle name. She's crushed the dream of a six-year-old, regularly blasphemed religious texts, called herself God, mimicked religious ceremonies in her OWN name, stabbed a commentator and set the company's Commissioner on fire...and amidst all of that, First and Only is still going strong, many who have scratched and clawed for revenge have fallen short, and just when the blasphemy couldn't get any worse, it turns out that the Alpha Bitch has her very own cult of followers who truly venerate her as the deity she thinks she is. Even when it seems like she's EN ROUTE to losing, she's managed to squeak away with victory almost every single time.
    • The same applies to the Powerpuff Girls, who straight up murder the XJ-series and still get away with the Women's Tag-Team titles.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Even amidst Gwen's Curb Stomp at Enmity, tearing apart of Chell's arm at Meltdown, and multitude of victories grabbed out of the jaws of defeat and comeuppance, Gwen Tennyson's gimmick as a Wrestling Goddess was something many laughed at once upon a time. In fact, when Gwen was not awarded the FWA for Female of the Year in 2013, it was high comedy to those who disliked the Alpha Bitch. Until she stabbed Jonathan Ellis and set the Commissioner James Gordon on fire. And then Gwen Ten became a whole new brand of villain, one who was irredeemable and hated by almost all. Not even Ben could defend her any longer.
  • Knight Templar: Ben Tennyson, who's gimmick is of the morally righteous "hero" evolved into this trope after a series of inter-company losses made CCW, according to him, look terrible. Cue the berating his boss and beating on innocent competitors all in the name of "saving CCW".
  • Last Chance to Quit: Gwen Tennyson at Enmity: "Emmy, I have been far too nice for my standards. What’s about to happen next is going to be the most vicious feeling you’ve ever had to put up with in your entire sorry life. Say the words, Emmy, and I will make your pain go away. Say it, Emmy! Say it!" Emmy would decline...and then, cue the infamous Curb Stomp.
  • Legion of Doom:
    • Lucy Van Pelt and Bella Swan aligned with Zoe Payne to form The END, a stable formed initially for a quest to eliminate Emmy and any of her influence from CCW. It only took the stable a matter of weeks to establish itself as a force to be reckoned with, assaulting and annihilating Xena, Britney, the Cyber Girls, and Puffy AmiYumi.
    • The embitterment, notoriety, and destruction was so viciously documented that on XX 19, when Zoe vowed that the stable was going to end Emmy's career that evening, it was a very seeable possibility. At the night's conclusion, the three managed to have Emmy surrounded...but it was at this moment that Emmy revealed that Zoe "[wasn't] the only one who has friends around here", cueing the arrivals of Reggie Rocket and Annie Frazier to rebuff the violent forces.
  • Little Miss Badass:
    • Emmy. A girl who has defeated a ruthless champion twice as well as defeating a raging Zoe Payne in her return PPV Match.
    • Gwen, being only ten while also Double X's top talent.
  • Losing Is Worse Than Death: Gwen would rather die than lose her Female's Championship, as evidenced by Meltdown.
  • Make It Look Like an Accident: The Powerpuff Girls member Bubbles "accidently" swats a chair at Mystique Sonia's skull and gives her a Grade 3 Concussion, putting her out for weeks, and leaving Jenny without a partner. It was totally an accident. The fact that The PPG had a shot at The Belts in four weeks totally had no bearings on that incident.
  • Masked Luchador: El Blaze.
  • Morton's Fork: CCW Havoc's Universal Championship contest between Tom Brady the Champion and Dan Kuso the challenger, with Jeremy Ellis as the Special Guest Referee. Award the match to Brady, and Jeremy would be forced to raise the hand of the man on the Ozone roster he despised the most. Award the match to Kuso...and Jeremy would be fired from CCW completely.
  • Motive Rant
    • The Powerpuff Girls went on one on XX 14 when explaining their ruse and eventual treachery against Techno-Tongue at Meltdown.
    • Zoe Payne's shoot promo on XX 10 effectively served as an explanation for her actions against Emmy at Enmity.
  • Multinational Team: Doc Louis Productions includes Bald Bull (Turkey), Soda Popinski (Russia), and Aran Ryan (Ireland).
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Enrique's reaction after Emmy loses to Gwen due to getting her face curbstomped into thumbtacks...thumbtacks HE gave Emmy before the match.
  • Narcissist: Oh, Gwen is undeniably this, but Zero Kazama has her beat, hands down. Unlike Gwen, who suffers from an Inferiority Superiority Complex, Kazama is prideful of CCW to a fault. He treats the company like his baby, and his alone, disregarding that other people helped the company achieve greatness without him. His narcissism is on full display in his rant to the roster after they fail to capture any significant victories at the FWAs for the second year in a row.
Zero Kazama: Swear to God, do any one of you have ANY RESPECT?!? RESPECT FOR THE WRESTLING COMPANY YOU'RE ALL LUCKY TO BE A PART OF?!? (To Tommy) You'd still a middling interviewer whose best wrestling chops are in a company no one remembers the NAME OF if it weren't for me! (To Hana-Gumi) You'd still be across the boat in Japan, smacking your gums about how good you three somehow think you are, and NARY A SOUL WHO MATTERS WOULD GIVE A CRAP if it weren't for me! (To Toon Link) You would be stuck in bingo hall purgatory as the 17th most important Link in the industry making half a rupee an appearance if it weren't for me! (To Carver) You would be watching Animation Action FLOUNDER from the inside and that older brother of yours you just ADORE so much get to dabble over in UWE while YOU HAD NOTHING AND NO ONE TO BROADCAST A LICK OF YOU if it weren't for me! (To Ben) You'd be THIRTIETH-BEST in the Universe AT MOST if it weren't for me! (To the Powerpuff Girls) You'd just be those three girls who got buried at WrestleMania XX if it weren't for me! (To Meg) You'd be MEG GRIFFIN if it weren't for me! (To L.T.L.) EVEN FEWER PEOPLE in the Multiverse would give a quarter of a shit about lacrosse if it weren't for me! (To the Dragon Kids) YOU'D BOTH BE THOSE TWO BOYS WHO CARRY EMMY'S BAGS IF IT WEREN'T FOR MY COMBINE CUP, IF IT WEREN'T FOR ME!!! (To Shun) AND YOU'D BE NOTHING MORE THAN DAN KUSO'S BEST FRIE—-oh wait. I suppose I rest my case.
  • Offing the Offspring: Although Ben is Young Gwen's cousin, Ben, with the help of Professor Paradox, brought Young Gwen out of her timeline and into the Fiction Wrestling Multiverse to be an attraction and asset to CCW and to be raised by him, which in a sense makes him her legal guardian and the closest thing to a "parent" she would be able to relate to. Hence the following applies: after seeing just how far Young Gwen had morphed monstrously in the head, having seen her terrorize by way of her cult, inhumane tactics, and downright morally corrupt actions from immolation to live stoning, at Regal Rumble Ben made the decision to finally distance himself from the girl he introduced to the world by breaking his way into the Cell on Earth and Elbow Smashing her upside the skull in an attempt to lead her to ruin and the end of her Females Title reign.
    • Self-Made Orphan: Later the same Regal Rumble night, Gwen would return the favor personally, invading Ben's Magnus Championship Match and exacting revenge…a fireball for an elbow to be exact. Despite these familial strikes, both Tennysons left Regal Rumble still Magnus and Females Champions of the World.
  • Only Sane Man: Al Michaels, when even Jonathan goes nuts sometimes, is the only one with a straight face.
    • Except when having to deal with Ben Tennyson and Cris Collinsworth throughout all of Ozone 38 causes him to finally snap.
  • Only Smart People May Pass: Jimmy Neutron and his stable The Brain Trust appearing to ask an unsuspecting wrestler a question involving some complex form of physics, mathematics, biology, or other subject that only the brainiest of brainiacs could have any hope of answering (or even attempting to answer) correctly.
    • And considering the track record thus far with these questions, it may as well be an Impossible Task.
  • Orphan's Ordeal: XX 28 featured the death and burning of Emmy’s parents when her friend Annie Frazier—who was attempting to save the shellshocked Dragoncrow from being charred by said (Gwen-corrupted) parents—pushed the six-year-old’s mother and father into the ring’s conjured fire pit. Paired with the Cult of Gwen’s arena arson thereafter, Emmy had one more tormenting tragedy to wear on her soul, a tragedy that bore downright horrific effects that even she has had to fight against to avoid falling entirely over the edge, per se.
  • Post-Victory Collapse: Gwen, after securing the victory against Chell in the aptly named "Sadistic Madness Match". Massive bloodloss to the point where she was nearly declared dead.
  • Redemption Quest: Dan Kuso struck his friend May when the latter wouldn't stop talking about Dan Kuso's Gold in the Fort Briefcase and potential opportunities to cash in. Derailed by the allure of said prize, Dan would go on a mission to redeem himself for this error. His plan? Put up not only his Universal Championship, but his Gold in the Fort Briefcase against Deathstroke—also known as Slade, one of the men Dan Kuso had defeated in order to obtain the briefcase in the first place. Add in the presence of the Resistance to back Slade in his unholy task, and you have a Thirteenth Labor of Hercules live on PPV.
  • Retcon: In-Universe, Gwen completely erasing Emmy's Females Championship reigns from the CCW record books.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: After Emmy cost Zoe Payne her second Female's Title Match, Zoe Payne went on a tear that would make even the toughest of woman pee their pants. Payne proceeded to beat up random competitors from out of nowhere, beat up referees, threaten management, and even initiate brawls with Emmy. It culminated in an Unsanctioned Match between Emmy and Zoe, where both girls had to sign a waiver signifying that CCW was not responsible for what would happen.
    • And then, when Emmy ended up beating Zoe in the aforementioned Unsanctioned Match, Zoe recruited Lucy Van Pelt and Bella Swan to help her hunt down Emmy and end her career.
    • Zoe went on ANOTHER one on XX 23, the first episode after the events of the interpromotional Mega Event Pride & Glory, such events including Zoe being screwed out of the Diamond in the Mine by Reggie Rocket and Emmy, against all odds, APPEARING during the SOS Chat hosted by Animated's Toon Women's Champion Haruhi Suzumiya. Zoe had been on the wrong end of interference many times before, but the rage coming out of THIS one was special…as documented by the breaking of Sidney Webber's arm, breaking of her twin sister Ashley's leg, breaking of Jackie’s ribs, shattering of Inez skull, tipping of the announce table and burial of Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth under the wreckage, near-severing of the poor timekeeper's arm (as said timekeeper was just trying to get away), utter destruction of the Webber Twins' friend and developmental talent Vicki Kawaguchi, punching out of the Minitron which broke the lighting grid, commandeering of an ambulance, and joyride/crash testing of said ambulance with Annie Frazier (fellow culprit of P&G with Reggie) in the back of it getting bounced around and obliterated as the ambulance was driven into walls and an idle truck. Commissioner Gordon would suspend Zoe for two weeks from this, but Zoe's fury was so uncontainable that when her own stablemates Bella Swan and Lucy van Pelt approached her, Zoe nearly attacked them too, just because they were bodies in her path of destruction. …Yeah, she was pissed.
  • Robot Girl: Jenny Wakeman, Duh.
  • Screwed by the Network: Fan Fiction.Net deleted CCW before Cato could even reach his next PPV. Completely fed up with FFN's rule, Cato decided to upload CCW to Archive Of Our Own instead.
  • Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: Jimmy Neutron. Exaggerated and sometimes even played for laughs, as he speaks in an even more educated manner. His vocabulary contains large, sometimes unneeded words that do nothing but show off how smart he is.
  • Super Spit: Emmy's Rainbow Mist to the face of Zoe Payne at Nevermore, leading to her eventual Unsanctioned Match win.
  • Tag Team Twins: Jonathan & Jeremy Ellis at the commentary table.
  • Teeth Flying: During their Unsanctioned Match at Nevermore, Zoe Payne kneed Emmy in the face so hard that it knocked out four of the six-year-old's teeth.
  • The Faceless: Shao Kahn as The Masked Man.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Gwen Tennyson's tirade on Emmy during her "come-to-Jesus" meeting with her on Ozone 17.
  • The Family That Slays Together: The Powerpuff Girls play this trope straight once they turned heel. On live television, they brutally destroyed every member of Jenny Wakeman's XJ-Sisters and beat on Professor Wakeman, while Jenny stood there unable to do anything.
    • Ben & Gwen Tennyson constantly congratulate each other on their deeds, such as running over their rivals or curb-stomping their faces into thumbtacks.
  • The Trickster: Trixie Tang plays this trope when she wrestles, tricking her opponents and the referees with random schemes such as pretending to be hurt.
  • The Voiceless: Chell
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Emmy's declaration that she was going to make The END pay for breaking both of Emily Elizabeth's arms on XX 20, effectively removing her from that night's Three-Way Dance between CCW's FWM female draft picks. Her words on not letting The END get away with it were especially notable for the fire and aggression behind them, something in contrast with Emmy's normal promos on believing in herself and being Unbreakable and whatnot. The world knew that this was serious business now.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Disco Kid lives up to this trope, especially during that fateful Supershow where Champion of Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment, Chaos the Hedgehog, beats the living sh*t out of him and continues to do so throughout the night. The catalyst for it all?... Disco Kid wanted to teach Chaos how to dance.
  • Underdogs Never Lose: Averted with the Dragon Kids and El Blaze, who are portrayed as Rey Mysterio Jr. type underdogs, yet don't always win.
  • Vagueness Is Coming
    • The "YOU CAN'T ESCAPE HELL" promos directed at Gwen that started on Ozone 20 and continued up to XX 5, leading to the explosive debut of Chell.
    • Lisa Simpson's multiple declarations that her tag team partner—a second beneficiary of "destiny"—shall arrive at XX 20. It's eventually revealed to be Meg Griffin.
  • Vehicular Assault: Ben Tennyson does this to then Champion Autolycus and injures him to the point where he has to vacate The Magnus Championship. And three weeks later, guess who wins The Championship he lost to Autolycus...
  • Vomit Discretion Shot: The Sadistic Madness Match between Gwen Tennyson and Chell at Meltdown got so graphic, Jonathan vomited on live commentary towards the end of it, though the vomiting was not shown on camera.
  • Witch with a Capital "B": The Twinleaves, Barry & Kenny, frequently replace curse words with names of Pokémon. So "F*ck you!" becomes "Floatzel you!"
  • You Have Failed Me: Executive Manager of the company Zero Kazama holds everyone in the promotion to the motto/bottom line that CCW is “Where Only the Elite Survive” and where the best wrestling—and best wrestlers—compete. If any of his roster members fail to live up to that high (almost astronomical) standard, they can expect to be thoroughly berated at best and sent to be victimized at worst.
