Bleach Lists is a tumblr blog run by Bleach Lists Girl. The blog used to update three times a day with lists in which Bleach characters react to various news, ask each other out, wonder about the general weirdness of things and get horribly, relentlessly mocked. It's mostly crack and always hilarious.

Lists are divided into following categories:

  • "Fans ship you with..." - Where Bleach characters react to being shipped with another character by the fans.
  • "Single ship series" - Lists about various pairings. While mostly reactions to people getting together, this category also includes pregnancy and marriage.
  • "Pick-up lines" - In which Bleach characters demonstrate their prowess at picking people up. And since December 20, this category now includes characters demonstrating their prowess at rejecting people.
  • "Other" - Everything else you can imagine and many things you probably can't.

Drink While Reading At Your Own Risk

The Bleach Lists provide examples of:

  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: On Rukia's birthday list, Renji got pissed with everyone getting her better presents than he could afford, so he bought her a bunny and then had Squad 12 make it about 70 times bigger. Unfortunately, he hadn't quite thought the consequences of letting a giant living bunny roam in Seiretei through...
Renji: God, I suck at presents.
  • Backstory: Several lists concern the characters' possible backstory. Which the author had uncovered "through the rigorous process of making shit up"(с) (and also reasonable assuming, but who cares about THAT).
  • Big "YES!": In most "Fans ship you with... ", in which the first answer is normally a "YES PLEASE!" by another character. For example, Orihime in Ichigo's list or Ishida in Orihime's list.
  • Came Back Wrong: Parodied with Ulquiorra, who has figured out he is one of the grand total of TWO major characters to be killed off and is not not very happy about it. So he is going to avenge himself by aiming his sarcasm at you.
  • Crack Pairing: In-universe. With hundrends and hundreds of shipping lists in the blog, several nonsensincal pairings inevitably happen. This is lampshaded by Äs Nödt in his "Locked in a Room" list with BLG herself:
BLG: Well, uh, what sort of person are you interested in?
    Äs Nödt: Hisagi.
    (...)
BLG: Is there any point in me saying that you guys never met?
Äs Nödt: That has never stopped you before.
    (...)
Äs Nödt: Or, if not him, at least Starrk.
BLG: You and Starrk weren’t even in the same arc!
Äs Nödt: Again I point out that that has never stopped you.
BLG: Curse my openness to multi-shipping!
  • Crossover: One of the subseries is dedicated to crossovers with other works, with there being an entire category dedicated to Disney.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Chad, Sasakibe, Noba and many, many others.
  • Everyone Is Bi: And everyone can be shipped with anyone. Still doesn't stop Matsumoto's boobs from being the ultimate weapon, though.
  • Fictional Color: In "Quincy high school teachers", Gremmy, as a creative writing teacher, brags to his students about how imaginative he is by clamining he invented the color of his hero's hair.
  • The Hat Makes the Man: Played with. Urahara's hat is apparently a totally sentient being which is capable of talking in the hat language (and is also probably a demon from another dimension), but its relationship with Urahara is more of partnership and not possesion.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Chad of all people is very enthusiastic about being included in shipping lists and always tries to come up with the reason Bleach character in question should date him.
  • O.C. Stand-in:
    • "Weirdly Handsome Squad 12 Guy", an unnamed soul reaper from the 12th Division who is killed of quickly after his introduction, becomes a recurring character in Bleach Lists.
    • "Bambietta's Bisected Soldier", an unnamed Quincy soldier killed by Bambietta as "stress relief", stars in a "Locked in a Room" list along with the aforementioned "Weirdly Handsome Squad 12 Guy", in which both of them discuss their shared frustrations as "nameless dead guys".
  • One-Steve Limit: Parodied and averted. In the blog's universe, Tosen named every single one of the Gillians he takes care of "Steve". (Yes, Steve. Given that BLG is a troper herself, it may or may not be a reference to the name of the trope in question.)
  • Polyamory: Some of the shipping lists resolve the LoveTriangles this way.
  • Self-Insert Fic: BLG herself appears in several lists interacting with the characters. She's been "Locked in a Room" with both Aizen and Äs Nödt, had her wedding crashed and ruined by Bleach characters, made her own list of pick-up lines to be used with Bleach characters, and fought over Yoruichi with Sui-Feng. In lists about BLG's own opinions, the characters at issue often interact with her as well. And even though BLG does't appear herself in that one, there's also a list where Ichigo and Yoruichi argue over who should be her favorite Bleach character.
  • Sociopathic Hero: A whole subseries is dedicated to the author proving various Bleach characters to be this. She makes a frighteningly compelling case, too!
    • The BLG herself strongly believes Unohana, Kyoraku, Kira and even Yachiru to be this. As of chapter 520, she is all but proven right with Unohana.
