Fanfic / Bailey In Exile

Go To

The second fanfic in the Juvie Bird Trilogy, again by SideshowJazz1. An alternate universe, where Bailey competes on Total Drama All-Stars, and becomes terrified when Mal is unleashed on the island. The storylines and eliminations are changed in some cases, and the story continues afterwards, with Mike attempting to get medical help to keep Mal in.

Bailey In Exile contains examples of:

  • Darker and Edgier: The story takes place during "Total Drama All-Stars", but Mal shows more disregard for the competitors than canon, only choosing to let Zoey live because he wants to break her. The story also has very clear sexual undertones, both consensual and otherwise.
  • Dreaming of Things to Come: Bailey's dreams outright tell her that Mal is coming back, and a few of them even suggest that he has planned to kidnap her and Zoey.
  • First Girl Wins: Duncan and Bailey eventually get back together, after a year of Bailey being single and Duncan with girls that weren't quite right.
  • For the Evulz: Mal lives on torture and desire. He literally does evil things simply because he likes exercising power in a way that harms others.
  • Graceful Ladies Like Purple: Subverted with the less-than-graceful Bailey, who wears a flattering violet blouse for her All-Stars debut.
  • Minor Living Alone: Bailey becomes this when Duncan is arrested. Granted, she's less than a year younger than him, but he's eighteen and she's seventeen.
  • My Girl Is Not a Slut: Bailey hasn't dated since she and Duncan broke up, but he makes it clear that he's dated and bedded multiple girls since. But it's hinted that Bailey isn't completely over him, even before they get back together.
  • Wide-Eyed Idealist: Zoey comes off as this when she keeps claiming that Mike is still in control of himself. Bailey tries to force her to face the reality of the situation.
  • The Power of Love: What pulls Zoey through is her belief that Mike will come back. It helps that Mike's one trigger is Zoey being put in danger.
