The fanfic Atlas
, by Kagaseo, is a fanfic where, due to the meddling of the Kyuubi with his chakra system at a young age, Naruto is the only living being to not possess a chakra system, rendering him as the biggest Muggle in the world.
Of course, those who know Naruto even slightly well should know that he wouldn't let something as little as having no chakra stop him from being awesome.
This fanfic contains examples of:
- Adaptational Villainy: Obito is not portrayed as an Anti-Villain in this story and receives absolutely no sympathy from anyone due to his cruel and petty actions. Ironically, being portrayed as a shrieking psychopath has made him more popular with the reviewers compared to his canonical base-breaking status.
- Ascended Extra: Yugao, Kisame, Han, Fuu, and Sasori are much bigger players than in canon.
- Badass Normal: Naruto is established as one early on, due to a lack of chakra.
- Big Bad Ensemble: Obito and Pain fight over the resources of Akatsuki and the right to be the Big Bad.
- Brain Bleach: Sakura when the genin teams, Naruto, and Anko all go to a bar.Sakura: I will drink this scene into oblivion.
- Combat Pragmatist: Heavily featured, especially by Naruto. The ninja villages are ninja for a reason, not samurai.
- Covert Pervert: Neji turns out to be one. Part of the reason Naruto sends him to train with Jiraiya is because he thinks the two will bond over it.
- Crazy-Prepared: Naruto seems to be taking notes from Batman.
- Determinator: Naruto is one just like in canon and less hypocritical. The Dragon is also one; it was the first snake to fly because nature gave up on trying to stop it.
- Disc-One Final Boss: Sasori and Orochimaru act as the main threat of the story for the first act before dying at the end of the Chuunin Exams.
- Dumb Muscle: Pain is charismatic and powerful, but without Tobi and Sasori running his life for him, he begins to make lots of stupid mistakes...you get the feeling the only reason he's alive is because of his Rinnegan and Plot Armor.
- For the Evulz: Due to memory loss, half the time Obito's evil isn't motivated by Madara and Rin, but because he's a dick.
- From Nobody to Nightmare: While not evil, the Dragon is clearly this; it states that it was once nothing more than an ordinary horned viper. Centuries, or millennia later, it is the lord of the snake summons, and easily the largest and most powerful summon in the story (the head alone was apparently the size of a hill).
- Groin Attack: Han tries to do this to Itachi. Itachi instantly activates his Susanoo.
- Homoerotic Subtext: Itachi and Kisame exude
Ho Yay. - The Juggernaut:
Word of God is that this is Han's fighting style. - Killed Off for Real: A very long list indeed...
- Let Us Never Speak of This Again: Itachi tells Kisame that if he ever speaks of the above Groin Attack to anyone and Itachi's reaction to it, he will kill him.
- The Mentally Disturbed: Despite undergoing Adaptational Villainy in Atlas Obito has a better justification for his heinous actions than in canon due to suffering brain damage so bad that he doesn't even remember that Madara or Rin exist half the time. Ironically, he receives little sympathy compared to his canon counterpart.
- Meaningful Name: Sarutobi actually gave Naruto his codename after the Greek myth, though he doesn't know where it came from.
- Not So Invincible After All: It turns out that having your head crushed by tons of rocks has actual repercussions when the author doesn't give a Uchiha Plot Armor thicker than an iceberg.
- Not So Stoic: Kisame has a million ways to ruffle Itachi's feathers.
- Only Friend: Kisame is the only person that Itachi has ever truly held a positive relationship with, even if he refuses to admit it.
- Overshadowed by Awesome: While Naruto is an excellent Badass Normal, he almost always loses to high-ranking shinobi when forced into a straight fight.
- Plot-Relevant Age-Up: Naruto is 15 instead of 13 when the story starts.
- Power Nullifier: The Hyuuga's normal fighting style which seals off chakra points is ineffective on Naruto, since he doesn't have any. The style which injects chakra into the organs, however, is still lethal if it hits him, according to Neji.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: The Third is shown to be one. However, he is also shown to be very cunning and ruthless when the situation calls for it.
- Sanity Slippage: Tobi has this, due to getting half his head crushed by rocks, and says that he doesn't even remember who pulled him out of them for sure anymore.
