- Artifact of Doom: The Orichalcos.
- The Atoner: Dartz, who is still around thanks to the revival of the Orichalcos, gives crucial information to Yugi and his friends to how defeat the Orichalcos.
- Cool Sword: Three of them. The Legendary Knights of Atlantis each possessed a powerful sword which their distant descendants must find in order to defeat the villain.
- Damsel in Distress: At different points in the story, both Sivya and Téa are kidnapped and must be rescued. Averted in Téa's case, as she manages to escape.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Odion gives himself up to the Orichalcos so that his brother can overcome his dark side. Marik is driven by a determination to get him back for the rest of the fic.
- Instant Awesome Just Add Dragons: Aaron uses a Dragon deck and he's not bad using it.
- Malevolent Masked Men: Midas, the Big Bad of the story.
- Only the Chosen May Wield: Yugi, Joey and Kaiba are the only ones who can safely touch the swords their Atlantean ancestors once wielded.
