Nobody said this was going to be easy.

SSFL, or the Sight Sword Loopies Fanon, is a new Crossover/Fanfic/Metafiction/possible multimedia by Chris Petro.

  • Alien Geometries: The Outer Box, the region of The Box outside of any given multiverse, is very non-Euclidean in both space and time, just like its inspiration, The Furthest Ring.
  • The Artifact: Overall dresses being used to indicate a female character is a tomboy. At first, only Artificer and Jade Harley, both tomboys, wore it. Then Charlie, Hunter's girlfriend, was introduced, and she was wearing the same. But she likes to be outside, so she doesn't count. Then Rivulet, a definitive Girly Girl, starts wearing it to look more pretty to Monk, and the whole concept is thrown out the window.
  • All Women Are Lustful: all of the female characters (even the Homestuck ones!) want to have children at some point if they do not have one already.
  • Arc Number: 10000. It is intentionally everywhere. The designation of Hydean Space, the amount of Saint's Ascension damage in the Don't Starve Mod, the amount of iterations of the Master Cycle, heck, even Nice Flowey's HP is 10000!
  • Arc Symbol: Overall Dresses, simply because female characters wear them so frequently it's its own arc symbol. It used to be a pointer that the female wearing it was a Tomboy, but it got out of hand, and now Rose Lalonde is the only female protagonist who DOESN'T wear them. Now it symbolises fertility, rather than tomboyishness.
  • A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy Far, Far Away...: there are multiple universes like this, each called "alphaverses". One of which is our own world.
  • Anatomy of the Soul: in SSFL, the soul is contained not in the heart but in the brain.
  • Apocalypse How: every type, starting with Type 0, and ending with Type Z-3 if the Bleed is allowed to go from metaphysical to fully Physical and merge The Box and Paradox Space together, anhilating both.
    • whenever Flumpty factory resets The Box by factory resetting ALPHAVERSE-NULL, it is a High Z-2. In terms of The Box, only Flumpty and his cohorts will be untouched. Paradox Space is completely fine, however.
    • Saint invokes an X4 in Broken Down to stop Flumpty from conquering a timeline. Then it's revealed he's done this before.
  • Darker and Edgier: due to being a mixture of over thirty franchises, one of which being The Binding of Isaac, can naturally be considered this to Homestuck, Rain World, ONAF (which is already dark as it is!), Terraria, and dozens more.
  • Eternal Recurrence: the primary, highest level theme of the Fanfic is that everything is stuck in an infinitely repeating pattern called "The Master Cycle". Exaggerated in that there are cycles within that, and so on and so forth, all the way down.
  • Getting Smilies Painted on Your Soul: pregnancy tends to release endorphins in Slugcats (and other female characters, but mostly Slugcats (and Jade Harley)), making them addicted to the pleasure it brings them. Unless she isn't actively suffering, she is likely to be feeling immense joy at the behest of her carrying a new life.
    • Exaggerated with the blue girls, where they ACTUALLY feel sexual pleasure.
  • Killed Off for Real: if a Slugcat dies in Rubicon, that's it, they CANNOT come back. Unless they're Saint, or are revived by Flumpty.
  • Kudzu Plot: since both Homestuck and FNAF have Kudzu Plots, and both are inspirations for the metafiction, it's only natural that SSFL would have one too.
  • Leitmotif: the primary theme song of the metafiction is "Cycles within Cycles", which will have several looping, layered soundbytes, each representing an Aspect.
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover: over thirty franchises are planned to be included, to some degree or another, in this crossover, with over 100 characters overall.
  • Natural End of Time: The Bleed is this, to an extent, for every universe in existence.
  • No Guy Wants to Be Chased: but a universal constant (and running gag) of the metafiction is that females are always eager to love their respective partners, no matter how harsh it is. Even the relatively modest Homestuck characters, who are extremely loyal to the point they are almost Yanderes, are NOT shy when it comes to romance, and will take their boyfriends wherever they see fit, because they just want to have a cool location for a date. Some take longer than others, but be it Rose, Jade, Chloe, or Bailey, they always goad their boyfriends into dating them, through a variety of means, though they will occasionally let their mates show affection in return, and sometimes may even slow down enough to let the relationship evolve naturally, but they NEVER let go, EVER. and that is just the TAMEST example. All bets are off in other franchises.
    • turns out, Ashley Derpyplants bucked the trend entirely when it came to Nick. She let the relationship come along naturally, causing it to blossom from budding to sexual in a matter of months. Then came the Occasus raid, and she started taking this trope UP TO ELEVEN, though she would see males of any race as little more than sperm containers to be harvested after this point, except Nick. Nick will always hold a special place in her heart, as he was her first love, so she could never see him as anything less than a person.
  • Place Beyond Time: Both the Outer Box (a Void Between the Worlds) and Rubicon (the Slugcat's version of afterlife) are this. Rubicon, however, gets WRECKED by Flumpty in the third story, which documents his raid on the place.
  • Precursors: The Timeless (the race Flumpty is from) are the precursors to EVERYBODY.
    • The Willosaurs are this to the rest of betaverse-10000 (Hydean Space).
      • Neither have truly gone extinct, however.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: the cities in the fictional game Cubemy Island Survival follow this pattern, for example the name of the starting town is Gilgamesh.
  • Running Gag: there are planned to be several:
    • the discussion of whether Nice Flowey is there as a friend, or to use the cast as a tool to stop Flumpty.
    • John is constantly trying to kill himself, sometimes regardless of whether or not Justin is possessing him. This is Played For Drama, every time.
    • Rose and Jade becoming pregnant across multiple dreams, called "story fragments".
  • Shout-Out: all of the Type V+ civilizations (except for The Combine) are named after Ships in the Kerbal Space Program Game Mod Beyond Home's trailers.
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: quite a few characters can interact with alphaverse-null (the real world), and of those, Flumpty has the motive to do so (he is a system admin).
  • Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny: invoked by Nice Flowey at the end of Chapter 4, when he is fighting against Flumpty.
  • Watch Object Shows
