• Pearl was almost named "PP", leading to his nickname being "Pearl Porter."
• Roserade was named Sunbrella as a Budew due to symbols in her name looking like a sun and an umbrella.
• The Shinx on the team was named Sparkles due to 3 sun-like emoticons in her name. She later took the name Sunshine.
• Golbat was named Moonbat, as he is a bat.
• Mars was nicknamed "The Bringer of War" by fans, after the movement from The Planets by Gustav Holst. The rest of Team Galactic followed suit, being named after the Four Horsemen.
