Xiaolin Katana

Go To

Xiaolin Katana is a crossover between Xiaolin Showdown and the DC character, Katana, written by Epiclot214.

Sent to train at the Xiaolin Temple, young Tatsu Yamashiro joins young monks, Omi, Clay, Kimiko, and Raimundo, in a race to find the legendary Shen Gong Wu to keep them out of the hands of the Heylin witch, Wuya, and evil boy genius, Jack Spicer.

Xiaolin Katana contain examples of:

  • Adaptational Context Change:
    • It's heavily presumed that Chase Young killed Tatsu's father while searching for the Soultaker.
    • Despite having been told of it's mystical ability, Tatsu is unaware of the true power of the Soultaker Sword.
    • During the first Xiaolin Showdown for the Eye of Dashi, it's Tastu who faces off against Jack Spicer instead of Omi.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Master Monk Guan appears in the first chapter, finding the recently orphaned Tatsu and trains her.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Raimundo tries to hit on Tatsu, only for her to aim her sword at his throat.
  • Detect Evil: Through her sword, Tatsu is able to sense Wuya being released from the Puzzle Box (which happens off screen).
  • The Dreaded: The Soultaker Sword is greatly feared by Wuya. After they escape from Tatsu and the Monks, Jack questions her on why she's so scared, to which she says that if she had to face the Puzzle Box or that sword, she'd take the box.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: Tatsu does not think highly of the Monks at first, especially after they inadvertently cause Jack and Wuya to get away with the Mantis Flip Coin. But during her first Showdown, she uses skills they displayed earlier to help her win. After that, she comes to respect them as warriors.
  • Oh, Crap!: Wuya when she first sees the Soultaker Sword. Then later, Master Fung has this reaction after he learns the sword's name.
  • The Sixth Ranger: Tatsu joins the Monks as the Dragon of Shadow.
  • Tragic Keepsake: Tatsu's sword becomes this after the death of her father.
