Vive, Vale, Gaude
is a fanfic of CLANNAD by Haggath.
Plot Synopsis: (After Story) Ryou Fujibayashi encounters a distraught Tomoya in the hospital where she works at. Upon learning that Ushio had died, Ryou desperately finds a way to save the Okazaki family, as a memento of how much she loved the man and his wife. She is granted a wish, and is sent back in time to the day Tomoya met Nagisa to attempt to alter the past.
Comments: A Ryou-centric fanfic, and probably the best CLANNAD fanfic at FF.net as of this typing, Haggath captures each character very well, drawing from not only the anime, but the Visual Novel as well. Ryou, who was pretty much shafted in the anime for obvious reasons, takes center stage here, with her Character Development occurring while she attempts to alter the past to better the future for Tomoya and Nagisa.
Vive Vale Gaude contains examples of:
- Be Careful What You Wish For: Ryou's wish to help Tomoya at the cost of her own happiness is fulfilled, exactly as she asked. Doesn't make the inevitable death of Kappei any easier.
- Dead Fic: Sadly, with the last update having been 2 years ago, this seems to be the case.
- Peggy Sue: The plot revolves around Ryou Fujibayashi encountering a distraught Tomoya in the hospital where she works. She discovers that he lost everything: Nagisa and Ushio. She encounters a wish shop (which may be a CLAMP reference) and she is then sent back in time, where she attempts to ensure things flow smoothly so that they might be able to avoid that fate.
