is a Legend of Korra For Want Of A Nail AU, where after her attempted confrontation of Amon, Korra is captured by Equalists and is guarded by a young man named Mako.
This fanfic provides examples of:
- Adaptational Badass: In this fic, Korra and Mako take on the equalists and mecha tanks at City Hall alone, as oppose to having help from Asami and Bolin.
- Adaptational Villainy:
- Played with Mako; he's an Equalist but he's still worried about Bolin and is willing to listen to Korra... sometimes. Ultimately subverted.
- Double subverted with Asami
- And This Is for...: Bolin gives one to Mako during the fight in chapter 5.
- Ascended Extra: Tahno only got a small role for two episodes in the show but here he's part of the main cast.
- Badass in Distress:
- Lin got captured by the equalist before the story began.
- Korra is very prone to getting kidnapped. Lampshaded a lot in chapter 7 when Tarrlok captures her.

- Big Brother Instinct: Mako still cares about Bolin, despite being an Equalist. He even lets Korra escape the equalist for Bolin's sake.

- Conflicting Loyalties: Mako is caught between his love for his brother, his budding relationship with Korra, and his belief in the Equalist rhetoric.

- Daddy's Little Villain: Asami joins her father. Then she pretends to be on Korra's side as a mole, but she's still working for her dad.
- De-power: Mako's firebending was taken away when he was 14. Bolin also gets de-bended at the Pro-Bending Championship, after winning.

- Wrong Genre Savvy: Amon correctly guessed that there was a traitor in his midst, but he thought it was Hajime, not Mako and Asami. He did get it right eventually.
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Mako joined the Equalist because he thought benders really were evil, given how incredibly horrible his life on the streets-being abused by bending triads-was and the fact that he was on the street in the first place because of a firebender.
