Thrones of the Four Pillars is a Kingdom Hearts fanfic written by Thaeonblade.

Synopsis: One year after the end of Kingdom Hearts II, Sora, Riku and Kairi prepare for the journey that King Mickey's letter spoke of just as events outside of their world catch up to them. Meeting friends new and old, these friends will have to entrench their strengths and learn new ones as the Darkness once more gathers upon the world... All orchestrated by a familiar foe.

So far, the story has only started to pick up steam with the heroes arriving in Twilight Town after a series of events back on the islands.

The story currently has twenty-two chapters and an additional Gaiden Story for the resident OC and his connection to some of the story's characters.

Thrones of the Four Pillars contains the following tropes:

  • Barrier Maiden: Reportedly twelve individuals with pure souls whose light safeguards the seven princesses who also embody the trope. And now Xehanort wants to twist that light to his own purposes.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Riku still retains a few powers of darkness while Thaeon specializes in the usage and understanding of darkness, but both are prominently on the heroes' side.
  • Fisher King: Each of the four Keyblade Orders safeguarded a key aspect of the cosmos. When Xehanort destroyed the Order of Darkness; Set off the events that made the Order of Light disappear; and unleashed the Heartless invasion... things went from worse to nightmarish before Sora received the Keyblade
  • I Shall Taunt You: Xehanort's gatekeeper practically enjoyed rubbing the events of and leading up to Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep into Aqua's face and even accused her of allowing things to get worst after that.
  • Original Character: Thaeon/Tobias. He also hails from Radiant Garden, was trapped in the Realm of Darkness as long as Aqua or Ansem, and apparently also carries a vendetta against Xehanort.]]
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Gurgi always wisely flees at the first sign of trouble.
    "Ah Oh! Trouble! Good bye!"
