Way back in the day, a group of Sweet Valley High fanfic writers came up with several alternate Sweet Valley universes. Universes in which things turned out for the better. Like their brother Steven actually ending up with his girlfriend Billie. Or Jessica not divorcing her husband, Mike McAllery.

These fanfics provide examples of:
- Ascended Extra: One particular example of this trope is Val Tripler. She only appeared in two SVU books, mostly to woo Mike. In Lullabies and Goodbyes, she's married to him and is an important character.
- Alma Mater Song: Not actually sung, but we know from Todd that SVU has one.
- Alternate Techline: More of Alternate Social Media. One fic is explicitly set in 2008, but Instagram is already a thing.
- Ambiguous Time Period: Some of the fics appear to be set in the 2000s, despite their relevant books being written (and presumably set) in the 90s. Billie references the Challenger disaster once, so the earliest these stories can take place is the early 90s.
- Babies Ever After: Steve and Billie, Jessica and Mike.
- Be All My Sins Remembered: In Sweet Valley Confidential: Life Goes On, Mike seems to have adopted this stance.
- Betty and Veronica: Liz is the Betty to Jessica's Veronica, and Billie the Betty to her frenemy Alison's Veronica.
