The Shadow of Fire
is an ongoing Fan Fiction by The Dagger of Faith about the magical world of RWBY.
The story itself is a AU where Weiss is the main protagonist, and has a cast of various OC characters, including a few fan made or inspired OC's, along with many of the canon cast such as Blake and Velvet.

- Anyone Can Die: Ruby does so. Several times. More permanent deaths involve veteran hunters.
- Artificial Limbs: Ruby acquires one over the course of the story owing to her body being seriously burnt in the crash of Saturn's fleet.
- Back from the Dead: Ruby and Weiss both have perished at points in the story. Thankfully Ruby's dad just so happens to be a god of the dead and can create... exceptions.
- Darker and Edgier: Than mainstream RWBY- the main characters are subjected to far more trauma and insanity than expected.
- Half-Human Hybrid: Yang and Ruby are the daughters of a human and who is essentially the lord of the afterlife itself.
- In the Blood: They will also turn into gods at a certain age.
- The Heavy: Saturn acts as this — he is the main visible villain, but there are others like Touko under his direct control, and he himself is only a mercenary for higher powers.
- Little Bit Beastly: Ruby is turned into this after exposure to dust.
- Screw Destiny: Saturn's main threat is that he actually knows how to do this and can alter the natural progression of fate.
- Our Gods Are Different: The main supernatural forces behind the events of the story.
