Fanfic / The Game (Wander Over Yonder)

Go To

The Game is a 7-part Wander over Yonder fanfiction by Dr.Indigo. After a few "intimate" encounters, Wander and Dominator decides to settle whose moral ideology is superior... by getting into a relationship that rocks the galaxy to its core.

Installments include:

  • The Game: One morning, our intrepid and enthusiastic young hero Wander wakes up to find himself in an unfamiliar bedroom. Despite the strangeness of his situation, he quickly falls for the charm of the room's owner, a mysterious yet lovely girl who calls herself Deedee. But is this strange green-skinned girl really as innocent as she seems?
  • The Second Date: In her quest to turn to Wander into a villain worthy of being her husband, Dominator seeks out a supposed Ring of Invincibility, which sits atop the Blasteroid Asteroid Formation. However, once she gets there, she quickly discovers that her would-be future hubby has somehow landed himself smack-dab in the middle of the biggest smackdown in history.
  • The Revenge: After suffering yet another public humiliation, Lord Hater has become more desperate than ever to prove that he's still #1. To that end, he has sent a scathing email to Lord Dominator challenging her to deadly combat. But with his armada disbanded and his own troops still in sickbay, can he survive such an encounter? Probably not.
  • The Pillow Talk: After failing yet again to lure Wander into her bed, Dominator is forced to do something she has never done with a man before. Talk. However, during this intimate little chat, several shocking secrets about the wanderer's past will be revealed. How will Dominator react? Read and find out.
  • The Weekend Getaway: To celebrate their five-month anniversary, Wander takes Dominator on a romantic weekend getaway to a luxurious beach resort planet. However, the arrival of an old friend, coupled with the return of some old enemies, quickly throws a monkey wrench into their plans. Chaos ensues.
  • The Breakup: While Wander and Deedee are busy planning for their future together, Nefarious and Sylvia are busy plotting their revenge. From there, things spiral wildly out of control, until at last Wander is forced to make an impossible choice. His Girlfriend or his Best Friend? Which will he choose? Read and find out.
  • The Final Problem: While Wander and Dominator prepare for their new life together, dark forces conspire to bring about the end of the universe. In the eleventh hour, a stranger emerges with the key to their survival, but alas, it comes at a terrible cost. To save the universe, one of our heroes must die.

The Game provides examples of:

  • Intercourse with You: Dominator sings one to Wander as she crawls towards him on her bed.
  • The Tease: Dominator pretends that she intends to seduce Wander and make him sleep with her, convincingly enough to Genuinely freak the guy out. Though she really 'does' want him.

The Second Date provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass: In the cartoon, The Night Mayor was just a One-Scene Wonder with a funny name. Here he's a badass vampire chessmaster who can dominate Dominator in a serious fight.
  • Big Bad: The Night Mayor is the true villain of the entire fanfic series.
  • Flat "What": Sylvia does this when revealing that the Lime skinned woman they were talking to as Dominator. It upgrades into a Big "WHAT?!" when he also reveals that Dominator is in love with him.
  • It's All About Me: The villain brawl was less about hooking up Dominator and Hater like in the episode here, and more about Wander trying to get the lady villain to leave him alone. That being said, it's Lord Dominator, so it's not completely unjustified.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: As Dominator cheerfully points out. Wander basically caused a full-on war between every villain in the galaxy with the very real chance of them killing each other, all to try and get her to hook up with Hater and leave him alone. Making it not only poorly thought out but giving him a selfish reason to do it
  • Nightmare Fetishist / In Love with Your Carnage: Dominator finding out that Wander set up the entire villain brawl causing untold destruction and potentially costing countless lives turns her on so much that she asks if he wants to have sex right there on the battlefield.
  • Official Kiss: To mark their upgrade into an actual couple, Wander gives this to Dominator. Apparently he's such a good kisser that she faints from pleasure.

The Revenge provides examples of:

  • His Name Really Is "Barkeep": Averted. Dominator's tells Hater and Peepers that her name is actually Deandra, and then mocks them for thinking Dominator was her real name. Stating that any parent who did as such would be abusing the kid.
  • Humiliation Conga: For Lord Hater. Since Dominator never tried to win the brawl and take the ring of invincibility, Hater claimed it, not knowing it was just candy. He was then easily defeated by Trudy after which the truth about the ring was revealed and he was made into a galactic laughing stock. Then when he gets beaten by him again, he not only finds out that Dominator is a girl but dating his other arch enemy.
  • Mistaken for Gay: Hater believes this of Dominator and Wander when the former picks up the later in a loving hug and talking sweet talk to him. Until she takes off her armor and reveals she's a hot woman. Which angers him even more.
  • Never My Fault: Hater blames Dominator for him being made into a mockery despite Dominator not even trying to take part in the brawl

The Pillow Talk provides examples of:

  • Dark and Troubled Past: Wander, of all people, has one of these. He lost his home, his race, his family and wife when his world was destroyed after his people refused to help an alien ruler.
    • So in fact does his hat The hat once belonged to a benevolent king who used it to bring peace and prosperity to his people. When it came time for one of his three sons to take over, they chose to rule together, only to start fighting each other anyway since they couldn't decide who would wear the hat. They started forcing the hat to cough up increasingly dangerous weapons, including W.M.D's that cost countless lives. It was for this reason Wander stole it, to force the war to stop.
  • Lingerie Scene: Deandra ticks off every box for this. Inviting Wander over for a special surprise and has him walk in on her laying on a bed covered in rose petals in sexy lingerie with scented candles burning and smooth jazz playing.
  • Sex for Solace: The second-to-last chapter has the two partake in it after Wander reveals his aforementioned Dark and Troubled Past.
  • Sex God: Wander is apparently very good in bed, as Deandra voices after the fact.

The Weekend Getaway provides examples of:

  • Ms. Fanservice: Dominator does not wear a modest swimsuit. Princess Demurra does but pulls it off just as well.
  • Straw Misogynist: Dominator isn't too fond of feminism. She doesn't see why a woman would want to be a mans equal, and would much rather be viewed as a goddess to be pleased by her other half.

The Breakup provides examples of:

The Final Problem provides examples of:

  • Babies Ever After: Dominator is pregnant with Wander's child at the end. The child is a reincarnation of Silvia.
  • Bitter Sweet Ending: Dominator and Wander are married, but Silvia is dead Though Glossaryck reveals that the child Dominator is pregnant with is a reincarnation of Sylvia.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Albeit unintentionally, everything from the series from Wander becoming a wanderer to Hater's existence was set into motion by The Magic High Commission.
    • Hekapoo gave King Brando a pair of dimensional scissors that led to the events that would destroy Mariposa.
    • Lekmet resurrected the corpse of the abused lab animal that would become Lord Hater.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Wander makes this in order to stop the black hole caused by Eclipsa's dimensional scissors, only for Sylvia to knock him out and take his place.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After humiliation after humiliation, the straw that breaks Hater's back comes when he finds out that his former minion Ted, who stole his money and half his conquered planets are now ahead of him on the Galactic villain leader board. He decides he's officially done with trying to conquer this galaxy and decides he wants to move to a whole new galaxy. So when Ripov appears and offers him a way to go to a whole new universe altogether, he is all for it.
