Go To

My Little Minecraft: At the End is a crossover fanfiction combining My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and Minecraft.

Ponyville faced an ordinary day, but then night came, and with it a massive gateway into another world. It closes before any action can be taken, but now the Mane Six and Canterlot nobility are tasked with finding out what they can about the gateway. Who created it? Where did it lead to?

And most importantly, did anything come through?

As it turns out, yes, something came through. A strange, bipedal entity, mute but industrious, with powers unlike anything the ponies have seen before. Even as they study him, none are aware of other elements lurking in the darkness...

It can be found on FiMFiction here, but there is also a Fanfiction.net version here; it updates more slowly, but includes some bonus content.

Trope Examples:

  • Annoying Arrows: Zigzagged. Barricade manages to capture the Miner despite one of his arrows embedded under her wing, but she has to be rushed to the medics as soon as she has him in custody.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Brimstone zigzags this. On the one hand, he does have a noble goal — stopping Era'Doth and destroying him. On the other hand, he's gone so far past the Despair Event Horizon that "disembodied mass of pure hate and rage" is a fairly accurate description of him, and the things he does means classifying him even as an Anti-Hero is being generous.
  • Defeat Equals Friendship: The Miner is willing to cooperate and listen to the ponies at last because Barricade fought him to a standstill and showed him mercy.
  • Eldritch Abomination: The Miner himself. He resembles nothing that the ponies have ever seen before, and his powers defy all the laws of nature as they understand them. They even speculate that the Miner has to physically override the laws of nature surrounding their own world in order to use his powers on them, essentially rewriting pieces of their world to work by his own rules instead.
  • It Is Dehumanising: Invoked. It's implied that Brimstone deliberately refers to the Miner only as "the Construct" or by "it" in order to dehumanise him in his own mind.
  • Lady of War: Fluttershy's mom, Barricade, is a huge, aggressive, loud-voiced sergeant in the Equestrian military.
  • Language Equals Thought: Twilight deduces this about the Miner's pictographic script language, realising that he has no "words" for gender or even for grouping others except in the most basic "Me" and "Them" senses because he's all alone.
  • The Last of His Kind: Brimstone is all that remains of the original Crafter race, elevated and then destroyed by Era'Doth.
  • Opposites Attract: Apparently, Fluttershy gets her disposition — and possibly her build — from her dad, but her coloration from her mom, who is... well, see elsewhere.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: The Miner thinks to himself that he could be this, if he wanted, reassuring himself that if he really wanted to harm the ponies, he could do things like flood their lands with endless waves of molten lava.
  • The Pig-Pen: The Miner invariably attracts a layer of dust and dirt over his body, and has little real interest in washing himself down.
  • Talking with Signs: The Miner can't speak vocally, so he's forced to communicate by using signs. A significant part of his interaction with the Mane Six is trying to learn their alphabet and language so he can write to them, though Twilight, at least, has made some effort towards learning his own pictographic language in order to teach him better.
  • The Voiceless: The Miner. Oddly, he remembers being able to speak once, but he hasn't been able to speak since his first traumatic encounter with Endermen.
