Fanfic / Lucina Reacts

Go To

"This place is at peace. It'll be quiet for a long while."
Lucina, shortly before the Fanfiction Tome appears in Ylisse and directly Tempting Fate by doing so.

Lucina Reacts by ElfCollaborator is yet another Slice of Life fanfiction from him. Taking place in the Reactsverse started by Weiss Reacts, Lucina Reacts takes place in the world of Fire Emblem: Awakening, where the eponymous princess discovers fanfiction via a tome fallen from the sky....and all the insanity with it.

Oh, and all the Shepherds are completely insane, to boot.

Tropes found in this fanfiction include:

  • All Love Is Unrequited: Lucina and Robin for each other until chapter 43, Ricken for Miriel, and it's implied this is the same for Stahl for Cherche, and Libra for Tharja.
  • Amplifier Artifact: The pendant Morgan finds and hands to Miriel, who then uses it to experiment with making dimensional gates.
    • It belongs to Azura, being the very same pendant she uses to enhance her songs. Kanna shows up to take the pendant away, and Miriel is determined to regain it.
  • Ascended Extra: Kellam, although not exactly an extra, lacks story significance in Awakening. In Lucina Reacts, he's Robin's right-hand man in dealing with the antics of the Cabal.
    • The Village Maiden is a minor character by the name of Gerda and given a backstory; she was one of the camp followers during the events of the game, as a medic.
  • Came from the Sky: The Fanfic Tome, in a flash of green energy and a spiral drill-shaped crater.
  • Casting Gag: Frederick and Cordelia mention desiring to don weird glasses and talk about manliness and punishing sinners and beating people with hammers respectively. Their respective voice actors in the source material play Kaminanote  and Tsubaki Yayoinote .
    • Apparently Lucinanote  is Maka now. She also sounds like Rise and Isara.
    • Male Morgan's preferred name is Todd.
    • Lucina ends up dressing as Rise for the festival, even outright singing a song from the game.
  • Chick Magnet: Lon'qu, much to his disgust. He'd much rather stick with Cordelia.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Oh, just about the entirety of the Shepherds, although Morgan, Henry and anyone in the Justice Cabal takes the cake. Especially the Justice Cabal.
    • Cynthia gets it from Sumia, while Todd gets it from Reflet.
  • Covert Pervert: Lucina, Cordelia and Olivia, surprisingly. Kellam is accused of being this, but he shuts down the allegations and it's never brought up again, and similarly for Libra.
  • Distaff Counterpart: Reflet is this to Robin.
  • The Dreaded: Morgan, for some unknown reason that is likely to be elaborated on as the fic progresses.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Kanna shows up briefly during the second half of the Alternate Future Children chapter. Also, Bagri, Yolanda and Artemisia know who Ophelia, Owain's daughter is, but are unaware of her parentage.
  • Epic Fail: In Chapter 14 the Shepherds find a laptop, and find that the previous owner had installed a 3ds emulator, with Fire Emblem: Awakening already loaded. Cue Maribelle playing the game, and having Frederick die on the first mission. note
    • Any time anyone tries to pull an antic. No exceptions.... Except for Reflet, whose antic only fails due to Tharja's interference.
    • Cordelia succeeds as well.
  • For Science!: Miriel's motivation for opening a portal from her side during the crossover special with Weiss Reacts.
    • In fact, this is her general motivation.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Miriel and Miss Faust's attempts to make portals succeeded. They ended up linking straight to each other, kicking off the events of the crossover.
  • Hurricane of Euphemisms: Lucina is subjected to one in The Tale of Two Robins, as a shout out to Dragon Age: Origins.
    • Ushio's laptop, later on, much to Lucina's chagrin.
  • Made of Indestructium: The Fanfic Tome. The Falchion and a Thoron do absolutely nothing to it, and it destroys Lon'qu's training saber when he tries to break it.
  • Most Fanfic Writers Are Girls: Sumia and Cordelia are the only people to know what a fanfic is, apart from Old Hubba.
  • Noodle Incident:
    • Apparently, Henry turned everyone into frogs for eating his sweet buns.
    • Libra and Sully once got dragged into a crossdressing contest. It didn't end well, apparently.
  • Official Couple: Lon'qu and Cordelia is confirmed to be this as of the Justice Cabal chapter, cemented further by Severa inheriting the former's hair color. Lucina and Robin are also confirmed to be this, although in this case, it's more of a when than an if.
    • Where Reflet came from, she and Gaius were this.
    • Lucina and Robin are now truly an Official Couple, thanks to Cordelia's machinations.
  • Oh, Crap, There Are Fanfics of Us!: Even more pronounced here, since with the exception of Sumia and Cordelia, nobody knows what a fanfiction is.
  • Only Sane Man: Robin, Lucina and Chrom fill this role here. Among the Shepherds, it's a more even split, with Libra, Kellam, Lon'qu and Cordelia having some semblance of sanity.
    • There is now an entire organisation of Only Sane Men.
    • Todd and Severa act as this to the Justice Cabal. Gerome attempts to, but comes off as The Comically Serious.
  • Parody Sue: Lia Gabriella Dark'ness Snapdragon Elphin- not only is she the daughter of Sephiroth, she also is somehow the descendant of Alm, Ike and Marth, and dual wields the Masamune and the Falchion. Lucina dispatches her with one hit.
    • Lon'mu is a parody of Copycat Sues- he's a blatant rip-off of Lon'qu.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: What Ren and Cynthia are planning to turn their Antic Order and Justice Cabal into by uniting them with each other.
  • Screw Yourself: Reflet, Robin's female counterpart, kisses Robin to test if a paradox would ensue from doing so.
    • She does it again in the Harem chapter.
  • Shipper on Deck: Morgan is this for everyone she can, but mainly for Robin and Lucina. Unfortunately for Lucina, even her mother Sumia ships her with Robin, much to her disdain. Reflet, Robin's Distaff Counterpart, is also this.
    • Apparently all of the Shepherds are this. Among other things, they made a bet on whether or not Severa would admit she liked being around Owain, much to both subjects' disdain.
    • The Justice Cabal are basically this. As is the Antic Order which Reflet is part of.
    • Cordelia, for Robin and Lucina, to the extent she successfully hatches a scheme to get them to confess.
  • Ship Tease: Robin and Lucina get this in the first paragraph of the first chapter. And it just keeps going.
    • It's pretty clear from the get-go that Lucina has a massive crush on Robin, and it soon becomes evident that he reciprocates. They're just incredibly Twice Shy about it, much to everyone's chagrin. No longer just Ship Tease.
    • Also, Libra/Tharja and Lon'qu/Cordelia have been teased, with the latter outright confirmed.
    • Todd with Severa and Noire.
  • Slice of Life: Definitely.
  • Tempting Fate: The quote at the top of the page is what Lucina says just before the events of the fic start in earnest.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Ricken and Glynda both realise this from their sides of the portal as Miriel and Miss Faust attempt to open one.
    • When both sides realise, in order, that the Antic Order operates in both their worlds and that Miriel and Miss Faust are collaborating.
  • The Stinger:
    • Female Robin and Male Morgan (Todd) showing up at the end of the Rule 63 chapter.
    • Reflet offering an alliance to the Justice Cabal with the Antic Order.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial:
Lucina: "I-I have no interest in [Robin] like that! H-he's simply a good friend of mine, and that's all h-he is to me!"
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Downplayed; Cordelia is revealed to have finally gotten her way with Chrom in Fiora's timeline, but Cordelia herself has moved past it.
    • Tharja finally opens up to Libra during the crossover with Weiss Reacts, after months of Libra attempting to get her attention.
  • Troll: Henry. Morgan is implied to be this, and Sully has some shades of it, judging by her comments about the lemons the characters end up reading.
    • Morgan is definitely confirmed to be this. By all hints, she's being a troll to her own mother.
    • Henry loves trolling people as well. The entire Justice Cabal can be said to be this.
  • Yaoi Fangirl: Sumia was implied to be this in canon, and it's ramped up here. She actively writes Ike/Soren yaoi, among other things.
    • She also squees at a picture of her husband and Robin kissing.
  • Wham Episode: Reflet and Todd appearing at the end of the Sleep-Crossed Lovers chapter.
    • Reflet's affiliation with the Antic Order at the end of the Justice Cabal two-parter.
    • Fiora, the Original Character revealed in the chapter titled the same. Why? She's Emmeryn's daughter.
    • The chapter immediately afterward confirms she's Gangrel's daughter and explains her origins, as well as confirming that there are other alternate future children out there.
    • Chapter 43. In short order, Cordelia was the one who plotted to get Robin and Lucina together, and not only did she fool them, it worked and turned them into an Official Couple. Also, Aversa's daughter, Tiki's son and an unknown Future Child show up at the end.
    • During the Best Reactsverse Crossover, the chapter Serial Escalation. It reveals that Tharja has many, many reasons to want to pursue Robin.
  • Wham Line: A couple.
    Fiora: "....Mother?"
Cordelia: "I was the one who locked that door. I made sure the Cabal didn't know about this. This whole plan has nothing to do with the Cabal- it's all me."
Random Girl: "Kanna. My name's Kanna."
She swore she caught the glimpse of a tear or two, slowly rolling down the dark mage's cheek, before Tharja swiftly strolled into the night.
    • One related to the Reactsverse in general, but:
"We're free of antics for a few days. Reflet's going to that Beacon place in the Outrealms to do something." Gerome replied, somewhat less affected by Reflet's leaving. "Apparently she's investigating something with some guy called Zelretch or something."
