Fanfic / Daughter of the Sun

Go To

Twenty-two seasons after the Clans joined together to defeat the Dark Forest, young Skypaw learns of the powers that have been gifted to her: she can view events to come and is able to look into the memories of cats (much like Jayfeather). One day, she dreams of cats coming together in the Dark Forest, planning to create an army once more and take revenge on the lake Clans for their previous fall. When a kit with much wisdom turns up in ThunderClan territory, Skypaw realizes that, with her ability, it's her duty to protect the Clans from the upcoming disaster...

Daughter of the Sun, written by the author ShoutFinder, is a Warrior Cats fanfic that follows an apprentice named Skypaw as she tries to master the ability she has been given. It takes place quite a while after The Last Hope, the last main series book to be written about the modern-day Clans, and acts as a sort of sequel to it. You can read it here.

An as-of-yet incomplete sequel is currently in the works, entitled Daughters of the Thorn, which can be read here. These two stories form part of The Daughters Trilogy, continuing the story that began in Daughter of the Sun and preparing for a tale of epic scope.

This work provides examples of:

  • Action Girl: Like in the source material, there are she-cats who fight. The most notable one here is Skypaw.
  • Big Heroic Run: Happens during Chapter 22, when Skypaw's trying to call reinforcements for ThunderClan when they're going to battle WindClan. She makes a Big Heroic Run to ThunderClan camp—although she's interrupted by Chasefire trying to fight her. Then, Skypaw's Clanmates find her and they all make a Big Heroic Run together to reach the ThunderClan-WindClan border.
  • Creepy Child: Aura. How calm and knowledgeable she is can be a bit unnerving, both in- and out-of-universe.
  • Next-Gen Fic: Well, this does take place after The Last Hope, so the kits and apprentices from that book are all grown up now and there's a new generation full of OCs.
  • The Omniscient: Rock knows everything, like he does in the books.
  • Advertisement:
  • Time Master: Though not a master, per se, Skypaw learns that she is the Tiger of Time, and possesses the power to manipulate time. Suffice to say, she puts it to good use in combat and other vital situations.
  • Seers: Skypaw and Aura—although it takes the former a while to master her powers.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: Aura, who can see into the future, has these.
  • Villain Team-Up: In chapter three, it's revealed that the few remaining Dark Forest cats are joining forces with "The Forgotten", a mysterious Clan called SunClan, Redwillow, Breezepelt, and Scourge so that they can all try to destroy the lake Clans.
