This page contains the following tropes:

  • Achilles' Heel: Shido would find out the hard way that he has several weaknesses.
    • Ice is a good counter to Shido's Super-Speed. Snart and later, DEM use ice-based weapons against him.
    • Wescott theorizes that Shido's speed is tied to his Spirit powers. He would erect a barrier to sever the link causing Shido to be unable to stand up against Ellen.
  • Action Prologue: Part One began with the Flash and the Reverse Flash battling across the Multiverse, till finally arriving in Tengu City and having what was presumed to be their Final Battle.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: Miku's Start of Darkness is nearly similar in canon though with the addition of a step brother who betrayed her when she became unable to sing.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: Tohka retains her Ice Queen characteristics though it's tempered due to her relationship with Shido turning her into a softer version of her Inverse form.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Tohka being an Ice Queen would alter all the canon relationships Tohka would have with everyone, especially with Shido and Origami.
  • Age Lift: Leonard Snart aka. Captain Cold is lifted to be the same age as Shido.
  • All Men Are Perverts: Cisco and Ramon can't helped but gawked at how hot Natsumi is.
  • And Show It to You: After Cisco fails him, Reverse Flash rips out his heart, killing him.
  • Asshole Victim: After Clyde Mardon manipulated and betrayed the Yamai Sisters and tried to kill countless people with his powers, his fate in being gunned down by Reina is well-deserved.
  • Berserk Button: The Yamai sisters are this to Mardon, especially when they refer to him as their big brother.
  • Big Brother Instinct:
    • Like in canon, Shido is protective towards Kotori.
    • Despite seemingly using Yoshino for her powers, Snart truly cares for the young girl. He would allow himself to be captured to allow Shido to escape with Yoshino.
  • Big Damn Villain: Past Kurumi saves Shido from being killed by Past Reverse Flash.
  • Big Eater:
    • Tohka as per usual.
    • Shido. A Justified case since his high metabolism requires him to consume large amounts of food.
  • Broken Pedestal: Both Yamai sisters look up to Clyde Mardon like an older brother only to be heartbroken when they found out Clyde is only using them.
  • Composite Character:
    • Miku is a cross between her canon counterpart and the Music Meister. Miku even titled herself as the Music Meister Miku.
    • Natsumi is this series version of Trickster.
    • Origami becomes Cicada the Spirit Slayer after joining DEM and Star Labs.
    • Basara Tojo is a cross between his canon self and Jay Garrick.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The Reverse Flash mops the floor with everyone, killing an entire AST platoon and beating Shido within an inch of his life.
  • Disappointed by the Motive: Shido is at disbelief that all the evils Reverse Flash committed are the result of him being jealous of Barry Allen.
  • Dodge the Bullet: Shido has to run and avoid being hit by Kurumi and her clones' pistols.
  • Energy Absorption: Several individuals reveal to have the ability to absorb the powers of the Spirits like Shido. Though unlike Shido, this is temporary and they require special weapons and gadgets to fully utilize those powers.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Despite Ellen hating Shido and Ratatoskr, even she is hesitant in working alongside Reverse Flash.
  • Evil vs. Evil: Reverse Flash clashes with Kurumi to rob her powers, Zafkiel. Naturally, Kurumi defends herself.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Snart uses his ice to direct Evan's lasers right back at his crystal ball.
  • Ice Queen: Tohka in this series. She looks down on others and is more than happy to flex her immense powers.
  • Lightning Can Do Anything: Much like his predecessor, Shido is hit by lightning from Tohka's attack. It's because of it and Origami's AST beam weapon that Shido gains Super-Speed.
  • Like an Old Married Couple: Shido and Miku argue with one another during the assault on DEM's headquarters. DEM's forces are surprised at this only to get the tar beaten out of them when they tried to interfere.
  • Mêlée à Trois: Occurs between the AST who wants to apprehend Leonard Snart, Snart who wants to get revenge on the AST and Tohka who wants payback against Snart.
  • Oh, Crap!: Shido when he realizes that Snart threw an ice grenade at him.
  • Point of Divergence: After Shido rewrites the future after saving Origami's parents and killing Reverse Flash.
    • Shido's origin in becoming the Flash is altered. Following sealing Tohka and Yoshino, Shido was at Fraxinus at the time where one of the ship's windows broken, causing lightning to him while being doused in chemicals.
    • Cisco's brother, Dante is alive and is working for Ratatoskr. He also seems to be close to Shido and Kotori.
  • Reports of My Death Were Greatly Exaggerated: Apparently, everyone, including Mana thought Cisco Ramon died. Much to her surprise and anger, he lives.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Sink-or-Swim Mentor: Dr. Wells instructs Tohka to repeatedly attack Shido to hone his reflexes.
  • Taking You with Me: Snart tries to perform one against Wescott by using a bomb he hid in his mouth and detonate it. Unfortunately, he fails as Ellen is able to knock him out.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Both Shido and Snart are united in bringing Wescott down but they are hampered by their different ideologies. Snart wants to destroy Wescott and everything he owns while Shido refuses to go that far out of concern for civilian lives.
  • Terrible Trio: The Mirror Masters are a trio of DEM agents with powers over mirrors. They are hired by DEM to capture the Spirits, capture Snart and kill Shido.
  • Tragic Bigot: Cisco outright hates the Spirits for causing the death of his brother at Central City. He went as far to help Reverse Flash in having the Spirits captured by DEM.
  • Villainous Breakdown:
    • Reverse Flash drops his high and mighty attitude after Flash destroys his Time Sphere, leaving him screaming at Shido that he'll get his revenge on him.
