Danny Phantom: Forgotten

Go To

Forgotten is the sixth story in Danny Phantom: Stranded. Danny suffers amnesia and Colette takes advantage of it. It also has a midquel called Remembered.

Tropes:

  • Abhorrent Admirer:
    • Colette quickly becomes this even to an amnesiac Danny, who is attracted by her good looks but becomes repulsed by her cruel, Control Freak attitude.
    • An amnesiac Danny quickly becomes put off by Ember’s nasty behavior and lack of respect for his personal space.
  • Accidental Hero: Dash, Dale, and Kwan unknowingly save an amnesiac Danny from being pursued by Colette when they accidentally shock-scare her with a tiger mascot costume.
  • Actually Pretty Funny: Star, Sam, and Jazz can’t help but laugh when Tucker tells an amnesiac Danny that Ember is a LOT older than she appears to be despite looking like a teenager. Ember is the only one not amused.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: In canon, Valerie never found out Danny’s secret identity until he revealed it to her in the finale. Here, it's confirmed she figured it out herself from some context clues and reflection after her anger stopped clouding her judgement.
  • All for Nothing: Colette’s efforts to make an amnesiac Danny all hers and into someone more suitable for her tastes not only fail, but cause her to be subjected to further hatred and public humiliation by him and his friends.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Colette finds an amnesiac Danny very attractive when he’s angry, especially when he’s furiously shouting at Tucker to go away.
  • All Guys Want Cheerleaders: Downplayed but an amnesiac Danny does recall that he likes cheerleaders after seeing Star’s cheerleading routine.
  • Amnesia Danger: Once the ghosts realize Danny has amnesia, meaning he doesn't even remember he has powers, they want to take advantage of the situation.
  • Amnesiac Dissonance: Without his memories, and with Colette's temporary influence, Danny isn't as friendly with Sam, Tucker, or Star as he usually is. Even when he does start to remember nice things about them, he's a very paranoid and untrusting person instead of the loving and attentive boyfriend he's been to Star for the past 3 months.
  • Amnesiac Lover: Danny gets complete amnesia, forgetting that Star is his girlfriend.
  • Amnesiac Resonance: Danny has an inherent dislike of the words "football" and "Dash" when he first hears them, even if he can't remember why.
  • Amnesiacs Are Innocent: Despite having amnesia, Danny ultimately retains his morals and innate Nice Guy nature, as he grows increasingly disgusted by Colette’s controlling, bullying behavior and eventually wises up enough to ditch her.
  • As You Know: Parodied and lampshaded in the first chapter:
Vlad: At last, now bring it to me...with that new batch of nanobots, I shall-
Skulker: Are you for real? I ALREADY know what these nanobots are and what you want them for, you are just repeating yourself.
  • Asshole Victim: After Colette is utterly rejected by an amnesiac Danny, she falls into a mud puddle when the jocks accidentally shock-scare her into fainting with a tiger mascot costume, then proceed to abandon her.
  • Bathing Beauty: A rare negative and non-Fanservice example as Star mentions Colette takes three long showers a day.
  • Beauty Is Bad:
    • Even Colette's good looks aren't enough to make an amnesiac Danny want to stay with her after becoming wise to her snobby, controlling Spoiled Brat nature.
    • As beautiful as Ember McLain is, she's still a dangerous, manipulative ghost who won't reform even because of her developing feelings for Danny.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Star tells an amnesiac Danny that this is why she joined Team Phantom because he showed her genuine kindness even when she was a Beta Bitch.
  • Berserk Button: Sam hates being called "girly" or an "animal rights fanatic", as Vlad's vultures find out the hard way.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Tucker admits Danny can be scary when he’s angry enough.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Jazz despises Colette both for her horrible personality and being an Abhorrent Admirer Stalker with a Crush toward her little brother Danny.
  • Blood Knight: Ember admits it’s more fun to attack an amnesiac Danny when he can fight back.
  • Blunt "Yes": An amnesiac Danny’s response when Colette asks him if he dares reject her and her kiss.
  • Brutal Honesty:
    • Even with her claiming them to be a couple due to his amnesia, Danny makes it clear to Colette he has no real attraction to her.
    • An amnesiac Danny outright tells Tucker that he obsesses over PDAs even though it’s gotten him so few dates.
    • Team Phantom don’t sugarcoat to an amnesiac Danny how stubborn he can be.
    • Star bluntly informs an amnesiac Danny that the Box Ghost is just a joke while he’s in earshot.
  • Captain Obvious: While Team Phantom sees Lance Thunder on Ghost Watch, Star and an amnesiac Danny say his name, which ticks Star off enough to ask him how he can remember the local weatherman’s name but not their relationship, only for Danny to remind her that she just said his name so that’s how he knows it.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Ember admits to an amnesiac Danny that she’s not a nice person and has no interest in changing her villainous ways because she enjoys being that way.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Even with amnesia, Danny still isn’t interested in Colette and eventually decides he doesn’t want anything to do with her after realizing how cruel, selfish, and controlling she is.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl:
    • Colette is this to Danny as usual but it gets worse when he is rendered amnesiac. She takes advantage of Danny’s condition to convince him that they’re dating and Team Phantom are his enemies to have him all to herself. When he gets fed up with her snobby attitude and rejects her, she tries to physically force him into staying with her, only for him to run away.
    • Downplayed with Star but she is upset that at first an amnesiac Danny can remember dating Valerie but not her. She also doesn’t like that he almost gave Valerie a class ring or that he called Ember a "hot rocker ghost".
  • Consummate Liar: Nothing Colette says to the amnesiac Danny is the truth, just her trying to manipulate him.
  • Control Freak: Colette goes to great lengths to keep an amnesiac Danny under her direction and away from his loved ones by lying to him about them being bad people and outright manipulating him into staying with her by telling him they’re a couple. Danny eventually catches on to this when he gets sick of Colette constantly telling him what to think and who to talk to, so he escapes from her the first chance he gets to find out the truth. Colette even mentally declares it's time for her to "lay down the law" as Danny's new "girlfriend" when he rejects her because she can't stand the idea of him having any control in this situation.
  • The Corrupter: Colette tries to make an amnesiac Danny as mean as her, which partly works since he starts pushing away Team Phantom thanks to the unflattering lies she has been telling him about them. However, he's never completely comfortable following her lead and flashbacks of his real life soon prompt Danny to shed her influence.
  • The Corruptible: Downplayed and subverted with an amnesiac Danny. He acts more hostile and aggressive towards Team Phantom as a result of Colette’s influence and lies, but doesn’t approve of her bullying or how much of a controlling snob she is, and ditches her after reaching his limit with her behavior.
  • Crocodile Tears: Colette cries these in an attempt to manipulate an amnesiac Danny into staying with her, but he doesn’t buy it because he sees how fake she is.
  • Dating Catwoman: The amnesiac Danny wonders with some interest if he and Ember have this sort of relationship. Tucker tells him no, as Ember may have an interest in Danny but she's not afraid to inflict bodily harm and it's clear Love Redeems is not a factor.
  • Deducing the Secret Identity: Valerie explains that after she saw past her anger, the events of "Found" helped her realize Danny's Secret Identity due to Danielle's resemblance to his civilian and superhero selves, along with Star tearing into Valerie for her vendetta against Phantom, having access to the Fentons' gear, and calling Phantom "Danny-boo".
  • Defrosting Ice King: After reuniting with Team Phantom, an amnesiac Danny doesn’t think highly of Star on account of only remembering her from her time as a Beta Bitch, but he does warm up to her after his friends vouch for Star's change of heart and getting to know the kinder her better.
  • Description Cut: During a stakeout at Axiom Labs, Star suggests calling it a night and theorizes Vlad might be thinking Skulker's still trying to steal the nanobots. Danny asks if she thinks he's that stupid and the next scene shows Vlad still waiting for Skulker.
  • Didn't Think This Through: It never occurred to Colette that an amnesiac Danny would eventually regain his memories and remember that he hates her, or that his real feelings about her would deepen once he realizes she took advantage of his amnesiac state for her own twisted ends.
  • Dirty Coward:
    • When Johnny 13 attacks, Colette leaves behind an amnesiac Danny to deal with him alone.
    • Dash, Kwan, and Dale run off and leave Colette lying unconscious on the football field after accidentally scaring her into a shock-induced coma out of fear of being blamed for doing that to her.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Much of Colette’s behavior toward an amnesiac Danny is in line with a domestic abuser. She isolates Danny from his family and friends, emotionally manipulates and outright gaslights him into staying with her, and lashes out when rejected. She even tries to forcefully make Danny be with her when he seeks to escape, not unlike a spurned abuser trying to force their partner to come back to them. Jazz and Team Phantom even lampshade this.
  • Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: Heavily averted. Team Phantom point out that Colette’s possessive and manipulative behavior towards an amnesiac Danny is unacceptable and downright abusive since she’s keeping him away from his loved ones to make him easier to control, so they desperately try to get him back.
  • Dude, He's Like, in a Coma!: Colette considers kissing the unconscious Danny, but only stops because she wants him awake.
  • Dude Magnet: Tucker and an amnesiac Danny comment on Star and Colette’s beauty.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: The Box Ghost does NOT appreciate Star calling him a joke.
  • Dumb Jock: Colette has this opinion of Casper High’s football players and for good reason.
  • Entitled Bitch: As far as Colette is concerned, an amnesiac Danny is lucky a Blue Blood like her is even giving him the time of day so he has no right to insult her, reject her kisses, or dump her.
  • Entitled to Have You: Colette is too narcissistic to accept rejection from an amnesiac Danny and tries to force him to stay with her, only for him to run away.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • Even Johnny 13 thinks Colette abandoning Danny to save her own skin was wrong.
    • Tucker lampshades this when he points out to Team Phantom that Johnny 13 is a far more preferable enemy to have attacking an amnesiac Danny than someone way more evil like Spectra.
    • Colette finds Jerk Jock Dash Baxter too stupid and boorish to even be around unless he has something valuable to offer her. She’s also not amused by his, Dale, and Kwan’s idea to prank the school they’re playing against next week by stealing their tiger mascot outfit with plans to destroy it.
    • The Box Ghost is genuinely hurt by Star’s insults about him being a pathetic Harmless Villain that’s not worth fighting.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • While an amnesiac Danny finds Colette beautiful, he’s very repulsed by her ugly personality.
    • An amnesiac Danny finds Star beautiful upon meeting her but acknowledges he shouldn’t look at other girls if he already has a girlfriend since (as far as he knows) he’s dating Colette.
    • The narration notes that had the amnesiac Danny seen Star crying after he harshly rejected her, he might've felt regret and realized he'd gone too far despite Colette's lies.
    • Even Tucker is exasperated by Colette’s vanity when she tells an amnesiac Danny that she’s the prettiest girl in school.
    • As attractive as Colette is, an amnesiac Danny would prefer to focus on getting his memories back than make-out with her like she suggests.
    • Team Phantom knows that as much as Sam disapproves of Danny and Star’s relationship and acts like a Clingy Jealous Girl towards him, she would never take advantage of Danny when he has amnesia like Colette would.
    • Even if Sam doesn't like Star, she's at least willing to support the latter's relationship with Danny since it makes them happy and Star is a MUCH better girlfriend than Colette, who is a far worse person than Star or Paulina ever were.
      • Related to the above, Sam doesn't even consider trying to exclude Danny's memories of his relationship with Star as they're trying to help him, finding it to be too cruel.
    • While an amnesiac Danny doesn’t remember Star fondly at first given her previous Beta Bitch attitude, he at least tries to be civil with her, partly because she’s being nicer now and isn’t a Jerkass Control Freak like Colette was.
    • As attractive as Ember McLain is, an amnesiac Danny finds her almost as unappealing as Colette for being a supervillain.
    • Ashley, Paige and Mia greatly despise Colette for her diva attitude and enjoy seeing her get humiliated after Danny dyes her hair green at school as a revenge prank.
  • Everyone Loves Blondes: An amnesiac Danny acknowledges how lovely Star is upon meeting her.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good:
    • Colette is incapable of understanding why an amnesiac Danny still refuses to go along with her way of doing things despite having no memory of how things really are between them. It honestly eludes her that Danny actually has a moral compass while she generally doesn't.
    • It doesn't occur to Colette just how strong the bond between Team Phantom and Danny is since despite having amnesia, his returning memories of the good times they shared helps him figure out her true nature. When he confronts Colette over lying to him to manipulate him into staying away from his loved ones just to finally get him to date her, she still doesn't understand why Danny would reject her.
    • It genuinely doesn't occur to Colette that her despicable behavior would only make an amnesiac Danny remember how much he hates her for being a horrible person.
  • Evil Mentor: Colette tries to teach an amnesiac Danny to be as much of a cruel bully as her to make him a better boyfriend and has some success since he does become colder to Team Phantom. Subverted when he eventually finds Colette's behavior far too unpleasant for his tastes and swiftly abandons her.
  • Eviler than Thou: An amnesiac Danny considers Colette worse than Ember.
  • Excellent Judge of Character: While he goes along with her lies at first due to unforeseen circumstances, even an amnesiac Danny ends up despising Colette for her self-absorbed and controlling personality, and as he gets more flashbacks of his life, comes to realize he can't trust her.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Tucker's attempt to dissuade Star's belief that she's at fault for Danny's current state only ends up making him see she's partially to blame for it.
  • Extreme Doormat: Danny is this to Colette at first due to his amnesia. Notably, his initial rejection of Star mostly amounts to him just parroting Colette's insults at her say-so, only to quickly have doubts afterwards when he thinks back on their encounter. He also can't muster up the nerve to tell Colette off for her unrepentance in leaving him at Johnny 13's mercy despite his growing discomfort around her.
  • False Friend: Star admits to an amnesiac Danny that she was never friends with Dash because he only associated with her for her good looks.
  • Forceful Kiss:
    • Colette loves giving these to an amnesiac Danny, but he quickly gets sick of it since he has no real attraction to her. When he finally decides to leave her, Colette tries to give Danny another such kiss out of some desperate and delusional belief that it'll make him like her, but he’s having none of that.
    • Ember tries to give one to an amnesiac Danny, but it just makes him remember that they’re enemies. She later gives him one on his left cheek.
  • Foreshadowing: Danny forgetting it's been 3 months since his relationship with Star started hints at things to come.
  • Forgotten Anniversary: Star gets upset that Danny forgot their "quarterversary". To Danny's defense, he didn't think people really celebrated 3-month milestones in their relationships.
  • Freudian Slip: Danny shows surprise at Valerie calling him by his first name in spite of both his identities (Fenton and Phantom) being called "Danny".
  • A Friend in Need: An amnesiac Danny becomes more trusting of Team Phantom when he notices that they’re willing to risk their own lives to defend him from ghosts instead of abandoning him like Colette did when Johnny 13 showed up.
  • Fury-Fueled Foolishness: Colette becomes more temperamental the more an amnesiac Danny resists her which soon causes her to mock him for having amnesia. This only confirms Danny's growing suspicions that Colette doesn't actually have his best interests at heart, breaking her hold over him and causing him to flee from her.
  • The Gadfly:
    • Ember messes with an amnesiac Danny by telling him she’s a junior he asked out when he was a freshman and they dated for a while, plus he owes her ten bucks.
    • Tucker mocks Ember by telling an amnesiac Danny that she’s WAY older than her teenage appearance would have him believe she is.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: An amnesiac Danny’s eyes briefly glow green while he’s glaring at Tucker.
  • Good Feels Good: An amnesiac Danny Phantom begins to remember how much he enjoys being a hero after giving an autograph to his #1 fan Billy.
  • Good Is Not Dumb: Despite having amnesia, Danny eventually sees Colette for the two-faced brat she is and ditches her.
  • Grew a Spine: An amnesiac Danny goes along with Colette's antics at first despite his hesitation and doubts, even after she left him behind to face Johnny 13 alone. Eventually though, her increasingly controlling behavior makes him cut ties with Colette, which isn't helped by him slowly regaining his memories of despising her.
  • Hard Truth Aesop: As an amnesiac Danny proves to Colette, looks can only get you so far with someone romantically since he grows to hate her too much for being a nasty, controlling Alpha Bitch to care about her beauty, and quickly ditches her.
  • Harmless Villain: Team Phantom tells an amnesiac Danny that Box Ghost is just a joke villain that’s barely worth the effort, much to his irritation.
  • Head-Turning Beauty: The first thing an amnesiac Danny notices about Star is how pretty she is.
  • Henpecked Husband: Subverted. This is what Colette expects Danny to be and tries to mold him into; someone who acts just like her and follows her every command.
  • Her Own Worst Enemy: This story proves without a shadow of a doubt that it’s Colette herself that's keeping her from being with Danny since her naturally toxic personality makes her too unbearable for him to put up with even with amnesia.
  • Hidden Depths: Even with amnesia, Danny values more than looks in a girl since he has no interest in Colette for being an obnoxious Alpha Bitch.
  • Hidden Disdain Reveal: Colette reveals in her thoughts that she never cared about the A-Listers and joined them just for the benefits, since she's fine with blackmailing them into letting an amnesiac Danny join them, otherwise she'll ruin their clique.
  • History Repeats: To Colette's outrage, Danny still doesn't want anything to do with her even when he has amnesia because he's repulsed by her abhorrent Rich Bitch personality like when they first met in "Lost".
  • Hopeless Suitor: Colette is still after Danny, who makes it clear that he only has eyes for Star. Even when Danny has amnesia, she doesn’t stand a chance with him because he could never tolerate being around someone as inherently awful as her, thus proving it’s Colette herself that’s stopping her from being with Danny, not Star or Team Phantom.
  • Humiliation Conga: Colette is rejected by an amnesiac Danny and falls into a mud puddle after being shock-scared into unconsciousness on the football field, with Valerie even getting a picture of her ruined hair. Several days later, Danny secretly alters Colette's shampoo, leaving her with green hair at school after gym class, much to everyone's amusement.
  • Hypocrite: Colette claims to an amnesiac Danny that Star insists on using her nickname because she thinks she’s the center of the universe and it’s totally conceited. Star immediately lampshades that Colette is being this.
  • I DO NOT Want to Know: Danny thinks this about whatever Star, Jazz, and Sam used to make the concoction he swaps Colette's shampoo with smell so nasty.
  • Ignored Aesop: Colette still refuses to get it through her head that her horrible personality is the only thing stopping Danny from liking her, even when he ends up hating her guts for being a controlling Alpha Bitch despite having amnesia.
  • I Hate Past Me: Star still regrets the Beta Bitch A-Lister she used to be, especially since all her past bullying is making it harder for an amnesiac Danny to trust her.
  • I Love You Because I Can't Control You: Colette is infuriated and intrigued that Danny is even more of a challenge than she realized when he continues to refuse her even when suffering from amnesia.
  • I Need to Go Iron My Dog: In chapter 2, when Danny has to sneak away to deal with a ghost, he tells Star to cover for him by saying that he went to the bathroom. However, Star points out that because he constantly uses that excuse, people will either stop believing it or start to think that he has a medical condition. Sam and Tucker even admit that she has a point.
  • I Regret Nothing: Danny is more than happy to get payback on Colette by turning her hair green and a detention from Mr. Lancer doesn’t change that in the slightest.
  • I'm a Doctor, Not a Placeholder: While Team Phantom sees Lance Thunder on Ghost Watch, he complains once again that he’s a weatherman, not a on screen reporter. Everyone but an amnesiac Danny rolls their eyes because this is the third time this week alone Lance has complained about his job and once again, he’s not gonna make do on his promise of quitting since he never does.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Despite his initial coldness towards Team Phantom, an amnesiac Danny refuses to sink to Colette’s level of nastiness and gets away from her after realizing what a terrible person she really is.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Danny outright not picking up Star's hints at their "quarterversary" upsets her. His responses to her sudden attitude didn't help. He doesn't realize this until it's too late.
  • Insistent Terminology: Sam is NOT an animal rights fanatic, she is an animal rights enthusiast.
  • Internal Reveal: Valerie confirms to Danny in the last chapter that she knows his secret.
  • Irony:
    • In the beginning, Danny encouraged Team Phantom to give Star a chance after she became nicer from her Character Development. Now, they’re the ones persuading Danny to give Star a chance for the same reasons after he gets amnesia.
    • As Valerie wryly notes, she broke up with Danny to protect him... from himself.
  • It's Personal: From here onwards, Danny goes from merely disliking Colette to outright hating her after she took advantage of his amnesia to destroy his relationship with Star and dyes her hair green as payback.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Colette admits she would invite Star to her and Danny's wedding... just so she can rub it in her face.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • Colette tries to keep an amnesiac Danny away from Jazz by insisting she’ll just lie to him, but Danny retorts she can’t lie to him if Colette won’t even let him talk to her.
    • An amnesiac Danny bluntly tells Colette that, contrary to her opinion, she is FAR from perfect since she’s an unapologetic snob who mistreats everyone she sees as beneath her
    • Colette is right that the jocks of Casper High are idiots who are barely worth her time. Dash, Dale, and Kwan only prove her point since they’re immature enough to try to pull a childish prank on the school they’re playing against next week by stealing their tiger mascot outfit with the intention of destroying it.
    • One major reason why Colette intensely hates Amity Park is the constant ghost attacks that plague the town.
  • Kick the Dog:
    • Colette reaches a new low when she takes advantage of Danny’s amnesia to manipulate him into dating her and turn him against Team Phantom.
    • An amnesiac Danny becomes more rude and hostile to Team Phantom because Colette has been feeding him unflattering false stories about them.
    • Colette’s terrible treatment of Mikey is this. It serves as a clue to an amnesiac Danny on the bitch she truly is.
    • Eventually, Colette gets so mad at Danny for rejecting her again that she mocks him for having amnesia. This only convinces him further that he doesn’t want anything to do with a horrible witch like her and he quickly flees from her.
  • Kiss Diss: Colette tries twice to give a Forceful Kiss to an amnesiac Danny when he rejects her. Naturally, he refuses and dodges Colette's first attempt by instinctively turning intangible, then just pushes her back when she tries again.
  • Lack of Empathy: Colette in bounds.
    • Colette doesn’t care that Danny has amnesia since she’s more than happy to take advantage of his vulnerable state to manipulate him into finally dating her by making him think they’re a couple and Team Phantom are his enemies.
    • An amnesiac Danny is incredulous that Colette would rather make-out with him than help him restore his memory.
    • It disgusts an amnesiac Danny how horrible Colette is to Mikey for no reason without a shred a remorse, to the point he gets away from her when she tries to make him act the same way as her.
  • Lampshade Hanging:
    • Star asks Danny why Vlad is making Skulker steal the nanobots from Axiom Labs since he actually owns it and could easily obtain them himself. Danny theorizes that it's so he could use Skulker as a scapegoat, and also possibly out of laziness.
    • Valerie points out the name "Danny Phantom" is too on the nose.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Colette's attempts to make Danny think they're a couple fall apart, causing him to "dump" her and her to end up passing out from shock at the sight of a tiger costume (also getting her hair muddy in the process). Danny and Team Phantom later get revenge on her by altering her shampoo, resulting in her getting green hair and humiliated in front of the entire school.
  • Lesser of Two Evils: Sam admits this word for word about Paulina in comparison to Colette.
  • Let Us Never Speak of This Again: Vlad does NOT want to recall what Virgato did to him, much less that he had to live off cat food. He refuses to answer Skulker's questions about the matter.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: Tucker points out that Johnny 13 is a far more preferable enemy to have attacking an amnesiac Danny than someone way worse like Spectra.
  • Lovable Nerd: An amnesiac Danny at least doesn’t believe Mikey deserves to be treated terribly by Colette.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Colette manipulates an amnesiac Danny into going out with her by posing as his committed girlfriend and feeding him lies about Team Phantom being his foes.
  • Mean Boss: Colette's unfounded cruel treatment of Mikey (who does homework and other errands for the A-Listers) serves as a big clue to an amnesiac Danny that she’s a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Colette’s abuse of an amnesiac Danny only helps him begin remembering how much he intensely despises her for her rotten nature and he quickly escapes her.
  • More than Mind Control: When Jazz recalls the time Johnny 13 tried to use her as a vessel for his girlfriend, he points out that Kitty might have messed with her personality but every decision Jazz made was her own.
  • My God, What Have I Done?:
    • Danny regrets yelling at Star when he realizes she wanted to celebrate their 3 months together.
    • Star realizes in horror that Danny doesn't know what a quartervresary is and becomes regretful for snapping at him.
  • Narcissist: Colette is this as usual. She even declares herself the prettiest girl in school, much to Tucker’s annoyance.
  • Never My Fault: Colette as always can’t understand why Danny is so repulsed by her malicious personality.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain!: Colette’s generally cruel personality gradually clues an amnesiac Danny on what she really is to him, making him realize he needs to get away from her and seek out Team Phantom for help.
  • Not Good with Rejection: Colette pretty much flips out when an amnesiac Danny rejects her.
  • Not Helping Your Case:
    • As Colette mentally notes, Tucker is only making it easier for an amnesiac Danny to believe her lies about Team Phantom being his enemies by getting caught spying on them.
    • Colette wants an amnesiac Danny to like her but her controlling and insensitive attitude only further pushes him away.
  • No Social Skills: Colette's interactions with an amnesiac Danny demonstrate perfectly how completely clueless she is at dealing with people who can't swayed by her looks, fake charms, and money because he ends up hating her for her immensely toxic personality and her attempts to force him to stay with her only make him get away from her quicker.
  • Older Than They Look: Tucker informs an amnesiac Danny that Ember is MUCH older than she looks despite having the appearance of a teenager, much to her irritation.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Sam, Tucker and Jazz realize something is very wrong with Danny. Not only is he around Colette, who he despises, but he doesn't even remember Danielle, who Jazz knows he cares a great deal for.
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: As Star blames herself for Danny's amnesia, Tucker assures her it's not her fault because she didn't know about the nanobots' use until after she yelled at Danny and made him think they were breaking up, which causes him to realize it kind of is her fault. This prompts a smack from Sam.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Ashley, Paige, and Mia are very supportive of Star and Danny’s relationship and even encourage her to celebrate her "quarterversary" with Danny.
    • Danny is disgusted by Colette’s callous treatment of Mikey and it clues him in to the horrible person she is.
    • Sam may not approve of Star and Danny being together but she refuses to even entertain excluding Danny's memories of their relationship or making a move on him herself as he's recovering from amnesia, and genuinely sympathizes with Star's heartbreak over Danny not remembering her.
    • While an amnesiac Danny doesn’t remember Star fondly at all in the beginning given her prior Beta Bitch personality, he at least tries to be courteous with her, partly because she’s being much nicer now and isn’t an Alpha Bitch Control Freak like Colette was.
    • Team Phantom encourages an amnesiac Danny to give Star a chance since they can confirm that she’s become a much better person from the snobby, unpleasant Beta Bitch he remembers her as, partly thanks to his influence.
  • Positive Friend Influence: Star and Team Phantom admit to an amnesiac Danny that it was mainly because of his kindness towards Star that she became a much better person now than the Beta Bitch she once was.
  • Psychological Projection:
    • Colette describes Sam as someone who is desperately in love with an amnesiac Danny and wants him all to herself, a description that suits Colette much better since she went further than Sam ever did. Plus, unlike Colette, Sam is at least trying to move on from her crush.
    • Colette claims Star is someone who is always mean to her, spreads lies about her, picks on her, and tries to steal everyone and everything she has ever since Jean-Luc married Stella because Star hates Colette. This about sums up how Colette has treated Star since the day they met.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: Colette is right that an amnesiac Danny isn’t well but she’s only saying it because she’s upset that he’s still resisting her despite having amnesia rather than because he has amnesia.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here!: In Chapter 15, once the Red Huntress shows what she's capable of, the Ghost Vultures decide to go MIA.
  • Shallow Cannot Comprehend True Love: It actually astounds Colette that even with amnesia, Danny is still repulsed by her awful attitude despite her beauty and status.
  • Shipper on Deck: Ashley, Paige and Mia all tell Star she should celebrate her "quarterversary" with Danny.
  • Sick and Wrong: How Sam, Tucker, and Jazz react to seeing Danny with Colette, and him letting her kiss him. The trope name is even the title of the chapters.
  • Siding with the Suffering: An amnesiac Danny calls Colette out on her unnecessary cruel treatment of Mikey after he loses his tolerance for her bitchiness.
  • Single Girl Seeks Most Popular Guy: A unique but extremely dark case as Colette plans to force the A-Listers into letting the amnesiac Danny join the popular kids clique or else she'll bring them down with the blackmail she has on them.
  • Skewed Priorities: An amnesiac Danny is annoyed that Colette would prefer to make out with him rather than help him with his amnesia and chronic headaches.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: As far as Colette is concerned, an amnesiac Danny has no right to reject a Blue Blood like her who’s from the upper echelons of European society since he’s lucky she’s even giving him the time of day, much less offering to be with him, so he’s fortunate to be the boy she wants.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Mikey only has a minor appearance in the story, but his presence helps clue an amnesiac Danny to Colette's self-absorbed, elitist attitude when he witnesses her acting like a complete Jerkass to Mikey for no reason.
  • Smarter Than You Look:
    • Despite having amnesia, Danny remains observant enough to figure out Colette has been lying to him (partly thanks to some fragments of his memories returning) and her snobby behavior clues him in that she’s nothing but bad news.
    • Valerie shows she can be quite perceptive when her judgment isn't clouded by anger since she figures out Danny's secret identity.
  • Stupid Evil: Colette could’ve endeared herself to an amnesiac Danny by helping him regain his memories, but instead she ends up making him hate her more than ever by trying to selfishly keep him all to herself.
  • Taking the Heat: Danny takes full responsibility for dyeing Colette's hair green, even though Star, Sam, and Jazz came up with the plan.
  • Tantrum Throwing: Colette throws a rather loud one when an amnesiac Danny dumps her.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: An amnesiac Danny becomes colder and ruder to Team Phantom because of Colette’s negative influence and the malicious lies she’s been telling him about them. Thankfully, he snaps out of it due to feeling instinctively guilty for hurting their feelings and comes to understand Colette is the bad guy.
  • Trauma Button: Dash unwittingly puts Colette into a shock-induced coma after shoving Casper High's mascot costume of a tiger into her face.
  • True Companions: Compared to Colette (who treated him like an object and abandoned him when Johnny 13 showed up), Team Phantom help an amnesiac Danny get his memories back and defend him from his ghostly enemies.
  • Turned Off by the Jerkass:
    • An amnesiac Danny does admit that Colette is pretty but he still isn't attracted to her, and her cruel personality certainly doesn't help.
    • An amnesiac Danny doesn't approve of Ember McLain's aggressive, unwanted advances or supervillainy, and considers her almost as bad as Colette.
  • Unwanted Spouse: The amnesiac Danny quickly gets tired of Colette, who claims to be his girlfriend.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: By telling Star about quarterversaries, Ashley, Paige, and Mia unintentionally cause turmoil in her relationship with Danny.
  • Unwitting Pawn:
    • Colette mentally admits that the A-Listers were always this to her because she only joined them for the privileges and is fine with blackmailing them into letting an amnesiac Danny join or else she'll destroy the group.
    • Danny doesn't hold it against Valerie for hunting him since he knows Vlad was just using her in his schemes.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Colette loses all her composure when an amnesiac Danny rejects her.
  • Villain Has a Point: While he doesn’t care all that much, Johnny 13 is right that it was despicable of Colette to abandon an amnesiac Danny to save her own skin.
  • Villains Never Lie: Extremely downplayed but Colette does tell an amnesiac Danny some things that are true like his real name, Jazz being his sister, Star being her stepsister who hates her and has a history of being mean to him, and Sam being in love with him along with having a possessive attitude towards him.
  • Visual Pun: After Danny dyes Colette’s hair green as a prank, she is literally green with envy whenever she sees him and Star together.
  • Wasted Beauty:
    • Star is a downplayed example towards an amnesiac Danny because he’s wary around her due to all the unflattering lies Colette said about her and he can only remember her from her mean girl days. However, he still gives her a chance because she’s kinder now and Team Phantom can vouch that she’s changed.
    • An amnesiac Danny doesn’t find anything about Colette attractive except for her good looks.
    • While an amnesiac Danny doesn’t find Ember as bad as Colette and acknowledges that she’s beautiful, he still isn’t interested in her because of her lack of respect for his personal boundaries and villainous actions.
  • What Beautiful Eyes!: Colette admits she finds Danny’s blue eyes pretty.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: The plot about Danny's lost memories is based on the Kim Possible episode "Clean Slate". Certain moments like Ember trolling an amnesiac Danny by claiming they know each other from school and Danny telling Star he loves her after regaining his memory, are copied almost word-for-word.
  • Woman Scorned: Rejecting Colette causes her to become far more aggressive in her plans to get her hands on Danny.
  • Worth It: Danny couldn’t care less about getting detention for turning Colette’s hair green since it was worth the satisfaction of revenge.
  • Would Rather Suffer: After reaching his limit with Colette’s bitchiness, Danny decides he’d rather be stuck with amnesia than end up married to a mean girl like her since the mere thought of spending another day with Colette, much less the rest of his life, sounded like a nightmare to him.
  • You Called Me "X"; It Must Be Serious: Star is even more confused when an amnesiac Danny calls her “Estelle” since he never uses her real name.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: It enrages Colette to no end that Danny keeps rejecting her even when he has amnesia.
