Danny Fenton is an Invasive Species
is a Danny Phantom and My Hero Academia crossover where Danny and Jazz get stranded in the latter world.
This fan fiction contains examples of:
- Adaptational Gender Identity: Present Mic and Danny were both implicitly cisgendered in canon. Here they're trans.
- Badass Normal: Jazz may not have a Quirk, or even ghost powers like her brother, but do not underestimate her. She actually manages to use her wits, martial arts skills, and a laser pistol to win the Sports Festival for the second years.
- Do Well, But Not Perfect: Despite having figured out the way to exit the maze beforehand, Jazz waits during said Sports Festival event until someone else gets out first, having anticipated that Nezu would put a bigger target on the one to finish first.
- Entertainingly Wrong: Multiple characters assume that Danny is related to All For One due to his appearance and multiple powers. Even the villain himself assumes that Danny is descended from his brother.
- Happily Adopted:
- Danny and Jazz are taken in by Aizawa and Present Mic and quickly bond.
- Shinso has a Pro Hero as a foster parent, and she's been working on formally adopting him.
- Logical Weakness: Danny captures All For One by taking him up into the atmosphere, where the lack of oxygen knocks him out.
- Major Injury Underreaction: Danny, due to his previous wounds and Healing Factor, tends to shrug off injuries up to and including being shot in the head.
- Mugging the Monster:
- Apparently Aizawa has been repeatedly attacked by villains who don't recognize him when feeding cats. In fact, when Danny and Jazz first meet him he's deliberately put himself into a spot where he hopes a villain that's operating in the area will attack him.
- The USJ attack happens when Danny is there. This is a mistake on the League's part.
- Jazz takes a jetpack from Mei to get to the USJ to see if she can help. The villains who decide to stop running to try and attack a Quirkless girl soon regret it.
- Normal Fish in a Tiny Pond: Danny's Phantom form is a powerful ghost, sure, but he tends to downplay this because a lot of what he can do are abilities most or all other ghosts have (not to mention facing Physical God-level ghosts like Nocturne), even though they make him incredibly strong and versatile compared to normal Quirks. Case in point, when sparring with Mirko, one of the top-rated female heroes in Japan, the forces they release causes damage the sparring room at Hawks' agency, which was rated to hold up against natural disasters, and Danny assumes that Mirko was holding back, like he was due to it being indoors. Mirko, even if she wasn't treating it like a serious villain fight, wasn't holding back.
- Power Limiter: The League manages to get their hands on some ectoplasm, allowing them to limit Danny's powers with a pair of cuffs.
- Trapped in Another World: A vigilante from the My Hero Academia world somehow ends up in Amity Park and uses her Quirk to send Danny and Jazz to her own world for unknown reasons. Danny briefly gets brought back by Clockwork, but returns to rescue his friends from Stain.
- Wrong Context Magic: Danny's powers are not a Quirk, and gives him a lot more powers than is typical. Both All Might and Nighteye initially assume that he has to be All For One's son due to his appearance and how many powers he has.
