Dandy's Road Trip

Go To

Dandy's Road Trip is an action/adventure Dandy's World fanfiction written by "ImVeryCool334" on Fandomalso known as EarthWindAndFireFan334 on This Very Wiki. Currently, it is being published on his Fandom, Wattpad and Archive Of Our Own accounts.

It narrates the story of the toons leaving Gardenview and going to the outside world. They meet a human named Angel, and with her, they go on a road trip to save the world from Delilah, their creator.

You can read it on Wattpad here.

What if we all just...list the tropes?:

  • Actionized Adaptation: This work is more action-oriented than its source material, being a Shonen-inspired action adventure fanfic.
  • Adaptational Explanation: In canon, the location of Gardenview was not brought up, with the only clue being that it takes place in America. In the fanfic, Gardenview is explained to take place somewhere in Florida (possibly near Orlando). It also explains what the Toon Handlers have been doing after Gardenview closed down, with the simple answer being that they simply moved on from Gardenview.
  • Air-Vent Passageway: In Chapter 5, the Road Trip Gang along with Boney go to the vents to get to the CEO's office without much trouble. Exploited by Burne, as he uses this to set fire to the vents using his flamethrower.
  • Carnival of Killers: Delilah's mercenaries serve as roadblocks for the Road Trip Gang.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Llange Skulle gets killed by a fishing boat's motor activated by Angel after trying to whip her to death with his belt, leading his body to get mangled all over before jamming the motor with his now-mangled corpse (or getting shredded to pieces before having them sink to the bottom of the ocean in the "censored" version that appears on Fandom).
  • Musical Theme Naming: There are tons of music references in the work, as almost every single original character that appears in this fanfic is named after either a musician, a band, a song or an album.
  • Villain of the Week: The overall formula of the story after the first two story arcs.
  • Wham Line: Dandy's Road Trip has a few examples of these:
    • During Chapter 15 ", Angel stops the van as cars block the way, getting blocked by a flipped-over truck. However, after a few minutes of honking, Boxten points out that something doesn't feel right, and Angel has this to say:
"Angel: Actually, now that you mention it, the drivers haven't been honking..."
    • In Chapter 19, as the TH Brothers go in and book a room, Hall suddenly asks this question to the hotel attendant:
"Hall: What room did the last person book?"
