Go To

Code Wings 3.0 is an on-going collaborative crossover fanfiction by Teen-Lyokofan7777 and Hunter Moebius. It is a cross between Code Lyoko and Maximum Ride.

After the events of Return to the Past, NOW! and its finale, the Lyoko Warriors (Sissi, Patrick, and a couple OCs as well) are settling into life as newly-recognized heroes. However, things are not as they seem as Erasers and whitecoats come and kidnap them.

It can be read here and here.

This fic provides examples of:

  • Affectionate Nickname:
    • Cassidy often calls Sissi "Sister" as a point to show the latter's Heel–Face Turn. Reciprocated by Sissi, who calls Cassidy her "dear sister."
    • Sissi calls everyone their name and "honey," "sweetheart," "sweetie," etc.
  • Air-Vent Passageway: Jeremie and the others attempt to use the ventilation connecting to their room as a means to escape. Granted, it works to a certain extent.
  • The Atoner: William and Cassidy to varying extents.
  • Back from the Dead: Ari and the Erasers, the former launching a Wounded Gazelle Gambit against Omega and the German Director in book three.
  • Bathtub Scene: In spades at the School and into the gang's escape from the School.
  • Berserk Button:
  • Big Damn Reunion: Cassidy finally gets to see her grandparents after being away too long.
  • Birthday Episode: Belated, but Cassidy enjoys a birthday party at Dr. Martinez's place.
  • Car Ride Games: Jeremie and the others play these both under duress and out of duress. "I Spy" is played at anyone's peril since Jeremie is the champion. "90 Second Alphabet", a game from Whose Line Is It Anyway?, is played, too, even when they aren't traveling.
  • Catapult Nightmare: Cassidy has one, screaming awake for the first time in her life, and slamming into a wall in Chapter 17.
  • Clothing Damage: Cassidy rips her shirt and bra with her wings, causing her to be almost topless for the rest of one chapter and into another. Her blanket covers her until she gets herself a new wardrobe.
  • The Dreaded: Cassidy hates Reilly and Mandy because of the fear they drive into her. Mandy assigns Cassidy to Reilly, who dredges up her past.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Downplayed and Justified. Georgina is a good driver normally, but when she puts her Cool Shades on and flips her hair back, Let's Get Dangerous! is in play. Granted, she's doing it for the sake of twelve teenagers, one adult, one good-side Eraser, and a dog on board, but she does her best.
  • First Person Narrative: The fanfic is told in Cassidy's point of view.
  • Full-Name Ultimatum:
    • Used by Reilly twice in one chapter, but Cassidy lampshades it the first time, mentioning that she had used it before. The second time, Yumi calls him out on it. He uses it again in a couple of later chapters.
    • Cassidy calls Odd by his full name when he pulls on her arm and jostles the surgery site on her neck. He asks her where she learned his middle name, but she explains that Yumi told her.
    • Cassidy calls Yumi by her full name (first and last) when she momentarily forgets that before the events of the fan fiction, Cassidy was the only person with powers on Earth.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Georgina Markson has sandy blond hair, and is one of the nice whitecoats who helps Jeb and Ari in freeing the Lyoko Warriors and Hunter from the School.
  • Hates Baths: Hunter is notorious for this trope, which first appears during the bath scene with him and Cassidy, in chapter 8, "Preparations"; in this, Cassidy happens to read his mind, after Georgina brings the two into one of The School's bathing rooms, finding out that he's apprehensive, but not about whether or not he wants to see Cassidy naked, or have her see him naked; he just doesn't want to bathe. After Georgina bathes her, Cassidy relays most of Hunter's thoughts to the whitecoat as she bathes him, who then proceeds to calm him, and discovers the second part of his fear; now that he's in, he doesn't want to get back out, again. After talking with Sissi and the others about it afterward, it reappears in short bursts, usually from occasional mentions, before chapter 14, "One More Day at Dr. Martinez's Place," where Hunter shines more light on the situation, revealing that the problem isn't modesty, after being confronted by Sissi:
Hunter: "N-no, I don't have any problems being seen naked, or seeing anyone else naked, boy or girl, as long as they're okay with being seen that way. I was naked a lot when I was younger, sometimes for days on end, before and after a bath! No, I just don't want to take a bath, or share one with anyone!"
    • Yet, she tries to get around this, by offering to share her baths with him, and to pamper him, every time. This comes to a head in chapter 13, "Travel Plans", where Jeb, Dr. Martinez and Georgina begin to fear that Hunter and a few of the others may have been exposed to radiation, and therefore needs to be bathed, just in case. At this point Hunter displays an attitude worthy of Calvin, but only for a moment. After this bath, we discover another reason for Hunter's hatred for hygiene rituals: he feels the soap leaves his body feeling slimy.
  • Go Through Me: Ulrich and the other Lyoko Warriors try to defend Cassidy, Hunter, and Aelita this way at The School in front of the whitecoats, but Cassidy ducks Ulrich's arm and goes to be assigned to Reilly, anyway. In a later chapter at The School, they do it again to defend Cassidy against Reilly, of whom she ticked off.
  • I Am Not Pretty: Cassidy believes she's unworthy of being called "beautiful" because she thinks her other female friends are very pretty. Georgina is doing her best to undo her damage.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Cassidy feels shades of this when it comes to her powers.
  • Immediate Sequel: The fanfiction takes place the day after XANA has been severely weakened.
  • It's All My Fault: Cassidy is prone to guilt-induced jabs at herself.
  • Mind over Matter: Yumi discovers, in a Garage Kids-like scenario, she has telekinesis on Earth.
  • No Animals Were Harmed: Played with. Odd says no guitars were harmed in the making of this fanfic in response to William asking if someone threw one in Chapter 18.
  • Obsessed Are The List Makers: Cassidy made 119 plans in Chapter 8.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Ulrich's half-awake rambling in the previous fanfiction is often brought up, making him groan.
    • At one point, Cassidy's own half-awake rambling in the fic is brought up, bringing her some shame.
  • Playing with Syringes: The whitecoats at the School.
  • Pig Latin: Cassidy says "That's why Plan 116 is ixed-nay, Jeremie," when mentioning one of her plans.
  • Porky Pig Pronunciation: Hunter stutters and pauses in his speech when stressed or scared.
  • Post-Kiss Catatonia: Aelita subjects Jeremie to this several times. However, the time it takes for him to come out of the stupor depends on the chapter.
  • Post-Victory Collapse: After the battle in Denver, Cassidy gets woozy and faints in the hotel parking lot.
  • Readings Blew Up the Scale: In "The Ghostly Experience" Cassidy says that her weirdness scale is at nothing, zilch, nada when Kiwi talks telepathically to everyone for the first time.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Shower of Angst: Cassidy engages in one when she has a strong nightmare, ending it with her sobbing into her arms.
  • Shown Their Work: In addition to the first five books (with the sixth being barely mentioned), the chopper's flight path and estimated time of arrival is fairly accurate.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Kaitlyn and Cassidy both have instances of swearing, but Kaitlyn is more brazen than Cassidy is.
  • Team Hand-Stack: While the Lyoko Warriors don't do a hand-stack, Cassidy witnesses Max and her flock's fist stack, which makes her ecstatic.
  • Translation Convention: To simplify the formatting, +text+ is Signed Language, [text] is Morse Code, "+text+" is Signed Language with mouthing the words, and chapter 9 "The Ghostly Experience" has a different formatting plate altogether.
  • Uplifted Animal: After waking up from being sedated for a long time, Kiwi starts talking.
  • Waking Non Sequitur: Cassidy, Ulrich, Patrick, Kaitlyn, and Jeremie all have had instances of waking up from sedation saying something completely different.
Cassidy: I-I think the tomato went west from Scotland to join the soccer league.
  • Wham Line:
    • In "The Ghostly Experience":
Mandy: “Looks like Miss McGuire’s body is adapting perfectly to the DNA… she’ll be so happy to be little Miss Schaeffer’s sister…
    • In "Waking Up":
Kiwi: (yips and then clears his throat) “And what am I, chopped liver snacks?!
    • In "On the Road Again":
He was gone...JEREMIE BELPOIS WAS GONE! note
  • Wink "Ding!": Narratively, Cassidy thinks she hears a ding when Aelita winks.
