Charm Your Nightmares is a Five Nights at Freddy's Fanfic written by Nooku. It tells the story of the protagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's 4, here named Ryan, who is tormented by the Nightmare animatronics after his death. However, one little mistake could change the game...

- A Boy and His X: A boy with a lot of Eldritch Abominations.
- Action Survivor: Ryan may qualify as Action Aftersurvivor... he's dead but still has to fight for his afterlife.
- Actual Pacifist: Nightmare Balloon Boy, oddly, has no desire to harm anyone.
- Always Night: Daylight doesn't exist in Ryan's freaky afterlife.
- And I Must Scream: Ryan has to spend his afterlife trying not to be killed twice. At least until some new developments are made.
- Barred from the Afterlife: Ryan doesn't have a traditional afterlife.
- Berserk Button: Show fear in front of the Nightmares and they won't think twice before biting your face off.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Fredbear may be gentle, but you do not want to get on his bad side. The other Nightmares are pretty much the same, after being calmed down.
- Bond Breaker: Nightmare temporarily breaks Ryan's bond with Nightmare Freddy and Nightmare Bonnie by lying to them. Nightmare Chica doesn't believe Nightmare's lies, and Nightmare Foxy wasn't there to hear them.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: What Ryan will endure if he doesn't keep the Nightmares at bay or if he loses their trust.
- Big Damn Heroes: Fredbear, big time.
- There's also Nightmare Chica, who saved Ryan and Plushtrap from Nightmare in chapter 19.
- We also have Nightmarionne, who, albeit unintentionally, saved Plushtrap and the Fredlets from Nightmare's attack.
- Deader than Dead: If Ryan gets caught by the Nightmares, his soul will be destroyed and erased from existence.
- Fluffy the Terrible: BB is not precisely the name one would expect a nightmarish creature to have.
- Forced into Evil: Not exactly the case, but the Nightmares literally exist to terrorize and kill Ryan. More notably, when Fredbear refuses to do so, Nightmare is created to do it in his place!
- Hate at First Sight: Nightmares who have the same purpose instinctively hate each other, like Mangle and Foxy, who both are meant to attack from the closet, and Nightmare Bonnie and Nightmare Chica, who were both meant to attack from the hallway. It doesn't seem to apply to BB, and Mangle's feelings are unknown, so this may just apply to the original group.
- Nightmare and Nightmarionne have this well, presumably due to Nightmarionne being Nightmare's rival, even though Nightmarionne so far has not done anything to harm Ryan.
- Large and in Charge: Fredbear and Nightmare are easily the largest of the Nightmares, which is why the others listen to them.
- Out of Focus: Nightmare Foxy doesn't make many appearances at first, because Ryan tends to avoid him more than the others. Given how he associates Foxy with his brother, it's no surprise.
- So Proud of You: Fredbear has this feeling towards Ryan when he saves Nightmare Chica after she saved him from Nightmare.
- The So-Called Coward: Ryan may have always been fearful, but he proves to be this when he does everything possible to calm down the Nightmares, it implying a risk or not.
- The Speechless: The Nightmares can growl and make other noises, but they cannot speak, except for Fredbear and Nightmare. Luckily, intent can be deciphered from the noises.
- Stock Phrases: Nightmare BB can only say "Hi" and "Hello". He can't even use the growling 'language' of the other Nightmares.
- Weakened by the Light: Nightmare seems to be weakened by the flashlight.
