- The Big Rotten Apple: In chapter 6, Chris reflects that, with the Blacklight outbreak, as well as the Tanker and Big Shell Incidents, the past three years has simply been a bad time to live in New York.
- Canon Welding: The author himself states that he is doing his best to make the different series seem like one coherent continuity. The fic is, for example, set two years after [PROTOTYPE], three months after Dead or Alive 5, and one year after Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Resident Evil 5.
