Black Lagoon City Of The Dead (Fanfic)
What If? Revy was the Punisher?

Rokuro Okajima is a seemingly ordinary Japanese salaryman but actually has lead a double life a long time ago.
However, he is thrown back into that life again when his bosses sent him to Roanapur, a cesspool of crime and villainy. It is there that he encounters a band of pirates who have shown to be extraordinary like he is.
Black Lagoon: City of the Dead is a Crossover Fanfic between Black Lagoon and The Punisher, following the exploits of Revy as the titular anti-hero, the Punisher and the rest of her companions. It is part of PowerCore Productions' Anime X Marvel Phase 3 - The Fallout Saga Part 2 - The Defenders: Road to Shibuya. It can be listened here.

This page contains the following tropes:

  • Adaptational Badass: Both Rock and Dutch get a massive combat boost, the former being once a Jujutsu sorcerer and wielder of the Iron Fist and the latter gaining his super tough skin.
  • Adaptational Context Change:
    • In the source material, Rock stayed with Lagoon Company out of fear of being hunted by his former company. Here, the reason is less that and more along the lines of purging the city of its curses which would attract the Curse Spirits.
    • Rock's argument with Revy during the Nazi U-Boat event is more in relation to the losses they endured following the deaths of loved ones and comrades.
    • Rock’s argument with Revy in the Calm Down, Two Men chapters occurs similarly but has an additional context with it being Rock's Batman Gambit to bring out the Cursed Spirit that had been latching onto her.
  • Adaptational Job Change: Alfred's role as a Nazi officer has changed in this series to be an officer of HYDRA.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Rock throws the Inverted Spear of Heaven at Baron Strucker, decapitating his hand that wields the Hell's Claw.
  • Call-Back: It is revealed Toji Fushiguro has worked with HYDRA which is how the latter became aware of the Jujustu sorcerers and the Cursed Spirits.
  • Composite Character:
    • Dutch is the mix of his canon counterpart and Luke Cage. Dutch has a connection with Harlem as Rock notices him making a call there.
    • Roberta is this, between her manga/anime counterpart and Taskmaster, particularly the female iteration from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
    • Shenhua and Leigharch are this series' version of Lady Deathstrike and Banshee.
  • Continuity Nod: Masahiro brings up the incident with Riko Amanai and the portal to Hell.
  • The Corruptor: Revy's Cursed Spirit is the one that has been enabling all of her violent tendencies all to parasite out of her negative energy.
  • Crossover Power Acquisition:
  • Dark and Troubled Past:
    • Revy reveals to Rock that she had a father named Frank Castle and a brother who also went by the same name. The family had lived happily only for criminals to attack their home and murdered Revy's parents, with her and her brother being the sole survivors.
    • During a heated argument with Revy, Rock reveals that his entire family had been murdered by a Cursed Spirit.
  • Mugging the Monster: The Lagoon Company take Rokuro Okajima, to claim the disk he's carrying and using him as a hostage for ransom. Too bad none of them know about his former life as a Jujutsu Sorcerer and they proceeded to have their asses kicked.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain!: The Cursed Spirit has Revy wraps in their fingers by posing as her father, Frank Castle but them abusing her, which the real Frank Castle would never do, causes her to turn against them.
  • Ninja Maid: The Lagoon Company has to contend with Roberta, the Lovelace Family's maid after kidnapping the family's youngest son, Garcia. Unbeknownst to them, she is a highly trained soldier that went by the name, Taskmaster.
  • Unstoppable Force Meets Immovable Object: Rock's the Force to Dutch's Object. Rock uses the Iron Fist to clash with Dutch's impenetrable skin. Even lampshaded by the latter.
  • Villain Teleportation: Baron Strucker uses the Cursed Tool, Hell's Claw to teleport which he uses against Revy and Shenhua.
  • Wham Line: Revy had her gun pointed at Rock only for someone else to take it and fired it instead. Revy is shocked who the perpetrator was.
    Revy: Father?
  • Wretched Hive: That is basically Roanapur as a whole. A city where law is basically non-existent and ran by multiple criminal organizations.
