Binding the Galaxy Together (Fanfic)
"May the Force be with you."note

Ryukyu's shock at what was believed to be an experimental plane crash turns to horror when she and Mirko discover it was piloted by a child. Of course, that's nothing compared to the shock when this blind, supposedly Quirkless girl named Camilla Sharro somehow manages to dodge their attempts to bring her back to the hospital. Just when it seems things can't get any crazier, they learn she's actually an extra-terrestrial from a galaxy far, far away...

Binding the Galaxy Together by AutoKnight01 is a crossover between Star Wars and My Hero Academia, which can be read here on FanFiction.Net, and here on Archive of Our Own.

Tropes that appear in this fic include:

    open/close all folders
    A - F
  • Adaptational Badass:
    • Izuku manages to score several points in the practical exam before smashing the Zero Pointer.
      • He also gets a better grasp of One For All and the ability to use it without breaking his bones, a.k.a. Full Cowling, in the lead up to the Sports Festival, rather than under Grand Torino.
    • Ochako receives sword training from Camilla before the entrance exam, making her a better fighter by the time of the mock battle.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • Ryukyu, Mirko, Nejire, and Detective Tsukauchi appear in the first few chapters, which take place when Izuku was training with All Might, months before they debuted in canon.
    • Izuku meets Ochako several months before the Entrance Exam.
    • The vestige of Yoichi Shigaraki appears right before the USJ and warns Izuku about All for One still being alive.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Downplayed for Neito Monoma, as he acts exactly the same as he does in the original manga, but compared to Bakugo's rude, caustic speech from the manga where he declares that he'd be number 1 and deemed everyone else losers, Camilla's speech that warmly encourages all her peers, both in her class and all the other classes, to give it their all makes his dislike of her feel all the more flimsy.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Combined with The Dragon. In this story All For One is the follower of a Sith Lord.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Mirko and Ryukyu don't even interact in canon, while here they're both former classmates and longtime friends.
  • Aliens Love Human Food: Downplayed, since Camilla is already a human (albeit from a distant galaxy). Upon arriving on Earth, after being accustomed to the food she grew up with in the Jedi Temple and war rations, she became enthralled with the planet's cuisine.
  • Aliens Speaking English: Camilla has no trouble at all talking with everyone she's met on Earth, likely due to the fact that her native language, Galactic Basic, is functionally identical to Japanese.
  • Amazon Chaser: Izuku seeing Ochako being badass makes him blush a lot. He's also left almost drooling when he sees her practice her forms.
  • Ambiguous Situation: When Izuku meditates in Chapter 29 and meets the vestige of Yoichi Shigaraki, Yoichi reveals that he knows about the Force and that one of Izuku's friends is a Jedi. How he knows isn't explained, but the fact that the vestiges are implied to be something similar to Force Ghosts may play a role.
  • Androids Are People, Too: Camilla has this view towards droids (which she picked from Anakin), believing they deserve to be treated with the same dignity and respect as organic beings.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: When Izuku decides he has to tell Bakugo about his Quirk, Camilla drops one that forces Izuku to reevaluate his relationship with his old bully.
Why do you want Katsuki to be your friend again?
  • Berserk Button:
    • If you insult Izuku's friends, he will hit you. Hard. Bakugo learned that the hard way when he calls Camilla a "no-eyed bitch" and accuses her of cheating.
    • Todoroki explodes when Camilla insists on asking him why he doesn't use the fire half of his Quirk, for a reason involving his sorry excuse for a father.
    • Downplayed, but Camilla really doesn't like people treating her like she's helpless due to her blindness, because she most certainly is not.
      • She also hates those who discriminate against robots/droids.
  • Blind Jump: An accidental example. As Camilla prepares to escape via hyperjump in her spaceship, one of the enemy ships' beams hits one of the engines at the last second, causing her ship to travel randomly until it crashes into Earth.
    • Bonus points for Camilla, a blind person, literally making a blind jump.
Camilla: We were moments away from jumping but…I got hit by a laser blast in my fighter's engine before we did and it knocked us off course. It also caused me to hit my head and go out cold in my cockpit. We jumped into hyperspace going in a direction unknown to us. I'm just thankful the engines attached to my fighter aren't necessary when using the ones on the ring. But….the next thing I knew, I came to still in hyperspace. When I pulled us out and tried to fly the fighter, where do we crash land…but here?
  • Break the Cutie: All Padawans go through this during the events of Order 66, including Camilla and her brother. At one point, they were Jedi in training, enjoying and preparing for the end of the war. Suddenly, clones, their loyal comrades, begin attacking their masters and friends. The story focuses on Camilla, who narrowly escaped thanks to her master's sacrifice but has to deal with being trapped on another world with the uncertainty of whether her brother survived.
  • The Cameo: Few major characters from Star Wars actually appear, but Obi-Wan appears in the warning message he sent out to the rest of the Jedi, Yoda appears in a holocron on meditation, and Anakin appears in a holocron of lightsaber instructions he made for Camilla. They each appear in person at the end of Chapter 38, having sensed Camilla's presence through the Force.
  • Came from the Sky: Camilla's landing was bumpy, luckily it was in an uninhabited part of the city and Ryuku was passing through that area.
  • Canon Welding: It's strongly implied The Force is the cause for the emergence of Quirks, as Earth has an incredibly strong and unique connection to it. Camilla notes that people with Quirks have a stronger, brighter connection to the Force than people without them. As well, All Might, and later Izuku, have multiple connections to the Force due to how One For All works, implying that the vestiges of previous holders are similar to Force Ghosts, as All Might, the eighth user, has eight lights, while Izuku, the ninth user, has nine.
  • Cassandra Truth:
    • Detective Tsukauchi and Mirko were skeptical about Ryukyu's hypothesis that Camilla is an alien until they were given proof.
    • In the chapter Secrets Revealed (Part 2), All Might refuses to believe that Camilla is an extra-terrestrial until he sees the remains of her ship.
    • Like in canon, the delusional Bakugo refuses to believe Izuku and Camilla legitimately passed the entrance exam.
    • When Camilla explains that she's an alien, no one from 1-A or the teachers (save for Izuku and Ochako) believes her until they see the wreck of her space fighter.
  • Child Soldier: Camilla joined the Clone Wars when she was just 12 years old. When Ryukyu learns of this, she is understandably horrified.
No... no this can't be right... she's... she's only a child now. Why would a child be brought into a full-scale war knowing full well what's in front of them? Why would her master do this?
    • Partially Subverted. Camilla notes that her master did his best to prevent her from having to join the war for as long as possible, but failed to keep her out entirely.
    • Technically, all Republic Army clones qualify for this trope; it's just that they have been subjected to Rapid Aging and other modifications that make them look like adults but are at most a decade old.
  • Cliffhanger: Chapter 29: The League of Villains invasion of the USJ begins, and Camilla is at an impasse on whether to help Aizawa and risk blowing her cover or not.
  • Commonality Connection:
    • Anakin took a shine to Camilla as both of them were brought into the Order despite people's objections (over his age for Anakin, over her blindness for Camilla).
    • Izuku and Camilla bond over their shared experience of being called "defective" and pushing forward regardless, with Ochako viewing herself as defective as well (owing to her Quirk's backlash). They even have a Catchphrase: "Defects Stick Together".
    • Subverted with Todoroki, who believes he has this with Camilla because she says she's the byproduct of a Quirk Marriage like him. But he's unaware that Camilla lied to cover her Force abilities as an unusually strong Quirk, something Camilla downright hates herself for. Unfortunately, this means his reaction to learning the truth is far worse than the others, to the point that he is one of the only two students who refuses to attend the class meeting Tenya holds the day after the reveal, the other being Bakugo.
  • Cool and Unusual Punishment: When R3 attempts to use his shock prod on Camilla to get her off the massage bed, the Jedi threatens to let Nejire (who R3 detests owing to her constant desire to accessorise him) have free rein on him with a can of spray paint.
  • Crash-Into Hello: Played with: Izuku first meets Camilla when the trash pile she was standing on collapses, and she falls on top of him.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Nezu reveals that, despite Camilla being the first blind person to even apply to UA, he's actually had a Braille printer for years, since the very first day he became principal, just in case they had a blind applicant/student. He makes it a point to be prepared to handle any potential issues U.A. might face with hypothetical applicants. Yet another example of Nezu's ridiculous intelligence.
  • Disability Superpower: Camilla may be blind, but the Force allows her to "see" her surroundings in a similar way to Daredevil's Radar Sense. Downplayed, as it is shown to have limits: she can't "see" people's features (not that she really needs to much of the time, as she can tell people apart thanks to their connection to the Force, which appears as a light in their body to her), can't "see" the colour or details of objects, can't read regular text or see pictures, sometimes has trouble finding smaller things, like the manual release lever for R3, and she needs to put extra effort into things like seeing what's on table. Living beings are easier for her to see than inanimate objects, thanks to their stronger connection to the Force, especially on Earth, as people with Quirks have a stronger connection to the Force.
    • She also can't see holograms, like the ones from holocrons. Because of this, the holocrons with instructions on various lightsaber styles aren't the most helpful outside of giving her advice on the styles she has already learned, until Ochako starts training with her. Since she can "see" Ochako, she has Ochako learn the new styles from the holocron, and then learns them from Ochako.
  • Distant Reaction Shot: Iida calls Ochako the day after Camilla revealed her secret to invite her to a 1-A meeting to discuss it. Unfortunately for him, he makes the critical mistake of calling her at 6 AM - and Ochako is, very definitely, Not a Morning Person.
Ochako: Iida... do you know how important sleep is to me?
    Iida: Um... no?
Seconds later, the whole building ended up being awoken by a loud chain of expletives screeching out from one of the neighbor's units.
  • Doorstopper: As of 22nd July, 2025, this story consists of 511,100 words and 43 chapters.
  • Dramatic Irony:
    • One of the first things that actually brings a smile to Camilla's face after her breakdown is practicing with a training probe while listening to a holocron of lightsaber instructions that a friend recorded for her. Said friend was Anakin Skywalker, who, unbeknownst to Camilla, is one of the main people responsible for the Fall of the Jedi and Camilla getting stuck on Earth.
    • In Chapter 36, Yuga Aoyama decides to keep the truth about Camilla secret from his parents and from All for One out of fear that he wouldn't be believed. Yet the beginning of the chapter shows that All for One is already suspicious of Camilla being a Jedi and is implied to have some kind of connection to a Sith.
  • Dreaming of Things to Come:
    • Camilla has a Force vision where she sees herself being welcomed by several people. In the beginning, the only people who are clear are Izuku and someone implied to be Todoroki, but when she touches certain people, the vision returns, with that person's image in the vision becoming clear.
    • Happens again at the end of Chapter 27, where she has a vision of the USJ, the Nomu, and Shigaraki.
    • In Chapter 41, she sees All Might's future fight with All for One, along with two people wielding lightsabers fighting each other nearby.
  • Dual Wielding: Camilla wields both her and her deceased master's lightsabers. She later teaches the duel style to Ochako, who begins to wield two blades of her own.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Kyoka, rather understandably, doesn't trust Camilla when they run into each other in the downpour zone in Chapter 31, since Camilla admitted earlier that she knew something was going to happen at the USJ. Thankfully, it's subverted by the end of the chapter after Camilla saves her and Tokoyami.
  • Evil Learns of Outside Context: Chapter 36 has All for One learning that Camilla's powers don't come from a Quirk. Subverted in that both he and Garaki already knew about the Force, the Jedi and the Sith, even stating that there has apparently been a Jedi on Earth before, and it's strongly implied that they secretly work for a Sith Lord.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!:
    • Izuku has one during Camilla's fight with Bakugo. He mentally asks himself a lot of questions about the new girl, including why it looks like she's trying to kill Bakugo... and realizes that it does look like she intends to kill him.
    • All Might has one later on when he expresses his fear that Aizawa will single out Izuku, but notes that Ochako and Camilla would give him emotional support... only to realize there is a very real risk of Aizawa exposing Camilla as an alien if his Quirk doesn't work on the Force.
  • First Contact: From the perspective of most of the MHA cast, except for All for One, Camilla is the first person from another planet to visit Earth.
  • First-Name Basis: Camilla calls almost everyone by their first name, which is standard in the Star Wars galaxy, but is considered odd in Japan, where that is usually only done by people who are close to each other. A number of characters point this out.
  • Freudian Slip:
    • After they meet for the first time, Camilla nearly says "May the Force be with you" to Izuku while saying goodbye, though she manages to catch herself partway.
    • After Aizawa apologizes for outing her as blind and explains his reasons for doing so to all of 1-A, Camilla accidentally calls him Master, a clear sign of the former Padawan's respect for the man.

    G - L
  • Girl's Night Out Episode: Chapter 37 focuses mostly on the seven 1-A girls (plus Nejire Hado) hanging out together, with the only "male", so to speak, being R3. Though the chapter takes place during the morning rather than night.
  • Golden Snitch: Izuku becomes this in the Sports Festival's second event, a fight by teams similar to paintball but with foam swords - while everyone else can be struck three times and losing out simply means getting disqualified, if Izuku gets hit once not only is his entire team disqualified, the team of the person that hit him will pass to the last event.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Chapter 36 hints that All for One is working for another villain and strongly implies that they may be a Sith.
  • Groin Attack: In revenge for stealing her tag and groping her, Yui Kodai uses her Quirk on Mineta's underclothes.
  • Handicapped Badass: Camilla may be blind, but she can use the Force as a sort of sixth sense. She also kicks ass like nobody's business.
  • Healing Magic Is the Hardest: Recovery Girl's reaction to Camilla's healing medicament(Bacta) is excitement that she can retire. Her healing Quirk is so rare that she is unable to retire due to the impossibility of replacing her and replicating the bacta could solve this problem, even several students in Class 1-A consider the bacta to be a portable version of Recovery Girl's Quirk.
  • Hearing Voices: Ochako starts "hearing" a strange voice while doing the first task of the Sports Festival. It's implied that she's hearing the kyber crystal of Camille's master.
  • Heroic BSoD:
    • Early in the story, Camilla has a major breakdown upon finding out that, not only is she stuck in another galaxy with no way home, but her master in most likely dead, the Jedi have been all but wiped out, and the Republic has fallen, meaning she'd have no place to go even if she could go back.
    • Bakugo has one during the Heroes vs. Villains class from the combined effect of losing to Izuku (noting he read all of his moves) and seeing how powerful Camilla and Todoroki truly are.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: Even before the Clone Wars and Order 66, the Jedi of the prequel trilogy are far from the Order at its height, or even the days of the High Republic, a mere three hundred years ago, when they had fully occupied temples on several planets across the galaxy. Now the Jedi Order is gone, with only a few survivors hiding out in various places, Camilla being one of them.
  • Hypocrite: Bakugo, The Bully that screams "DIE!" at anyone that says something mildly unflattering about him, and who is an eager Blood Knight who wants to pummel anyone he considers a villain, calls Camilla a "psychopathic murderer".
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: One USJ villain (a former member of the Japanese police force Ryukyu brought in for excessive force and who was dishonorably discharged), hits Camilla's Trauma Button by saying "I'm a soldier with orders! And good soldiers follow orders!", reminding her of Order 66. The resulting panic attack Camilla suffers from ends with her impaling the villain with her lightsaber, killing him.
  • Imported Alien Phlebotinum: So far, Camila has only shared one of the remaining vials of bacta with Recovery Girl to try to replicate it and has let her astromech robot share the plans for her spaceship with Power Loader to try to repair it.
  • Innocent Innuendo: In Chapter 37, Camilla is confused about why saying the music genre Jizz caused Kyoka to do a Spit Take (as described below) and keeps saying the word until Nejire tells her what jizz means on Earth.note .
Camilla: What word? Jizz? What's wrong with saying jizz? I like jizz a lot. It's honestly one of my favorite things I've ever experienced along with… huh?
  • Innocently Insensitive: After learning Camilla is blind, Mina wonders aloud if she wandered into U.A. by accident during the entrance exam and was allowed to stay after doing so well. To her credit, she apologizes not long after.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • Despite her additional training, Ochako still gets pinned by debris when the Zero Pointer is released, causing Izuku to jump in to rescue her.
    • Izuku is still sent to the shipwreck zone with Asui and Mineta during the USJ.
  • Internal Reveal: Both Camilla and Izuku reveal their secrets to Ochako and each other in Secrets Revealed (Part 2).
  • Irony: Bakugo often talks about seeing others as stepping stones, namely Izuku. And during chapter 42, Izuku accidentally uses Bakugo as a literal stepping stone as he uses Full Cowling to get past a large horde of people stuck at the entrance to the maze.
  • Jedi Mind Trick: Camilla uses this ability on 2 occasions to avoid conflicts.
  • Jerkass: Bakugo is one, as always. Completely unable to see beyond himself, insulting anyone that doesn't agree with his opinion, and willing to throw a tantrum when he doesn't get his way.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Mirko is extremely abrasive, blunt, doesn't care much for children, and enjoys violent combat, but she is truly heroic and cares deeply about her friends, including Camilla, though it can be hard to tell as she often practices Tough Love.
  • Laser Blade: Like most Jedi, Camilla has a lightsaber, and was also given her master's saber. She is quite proficient with them.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Mineta gets what he deserves every time he tries something perverted.
  • Last of His Kind: With the activation of Order 66, the fall of the Galactic Republic, and its reorganization into the Galactic Empire, Camilla is among the last of the Jedi Order.
  • Love Epiphany: Izuku finally realizes he's romantically interested in Ochako when one of his stray thoughts states she holds his heart in her hands.

    M - R
  • A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Read:
    • Bakugo's sheer hatred of Izuku at times manages to disturb Camilla.
    • Played for laughs with Mineta, with the majority of the class sympathizing with Camilla when she has to keep track of him during the battle trials.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: The teachers' and students' reactions as they are forced to acknowledge how unheroic their reactions to Camilla's secret were.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • While using a Jedi Mind Trick on them, Camilla tells Bakugo's fellow bullies "You want to go home now and reevaluate your life choices".
    • Camilla's examinee number during the entrance exam is 1138.
    • The multiple places in MHA canon named after Star Wars locations come up several times since Camilla recognizes them from the original.
    • During the Battle Trials, Camilla greets Todoroki with Obi-Wan's famous "Hello there." Upon realizing that she came to face him alone, Todoroki comments that "You are a bold one."
    • When Bakugo states that the only way people can have power is through Quirks, Camilla replies with "Amazing. Every word of what you just said is wrong."
    • All of the music genres mentioned in Chapter 37 are canonical genres in Star Wars, including Jizz, which notably is one of the few we actually hear in the moviesnote .
  • Nerd Gasm: Power Loader's reaction when he sees Camilla's space fighter.
  • No-Sell: As the Force isn't a Quirk, it isn't affected by Eraserhead's Quirk, which helps sell her word that she's an alien.
  • Oh, Crap!: Upon Mirko pointing out that kicking Camilla out of school after they took a really long time convincing her to come to school, as well as her being a broken, lost teenager in need of help, all the teachers who were more on the fence about her panic at realizing how badly that could end for Camilla.
  • One Degree of Separation: Ryukyu is friends both with Inko (from her connection through Izuku and Camilla) and Mitsuki Bakugo (who worked on the remodeling of her agency's interior).
  • One Myth to Explain Them All: Discussed briefly in Chapter 36. After learning of Camilla's true heritage, Momo mentions how the very concept of Camilla's existence throws every religion into question. Kirishima, though, points out how Camilla's explanation of the Force is similar to what his grandmother told him about Shintonote  with the students briefly wondering if Earth's religions were based on the Force but misinterpreted.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: When everyone in class is angry at him for being pervy towards Camilla, the one person that manages to scare Mineta is Izuku, whose sheer cold fury feels very out of character to the grape-headed boy.
  • Panacea: Bacta is a publicly available liquid medicine that can be used on anyone in Camilla's galaxy. It's used to regenerate in severely injured individuals in a very short time. She used one of her limited supplies on Aizawa due to the severity of his injuries following the battle with the Nomu, and she later gave one more to Recovery Girl to try to replicate it.
  • Possession Implies Mastery: Averted during the Battle Trials. Todoroki temporarily takes Camilla's master's lightsaber and attempts to use it against her, but, as Ochako predicts, he's making a mistake, because just turning it on is hard enough, never mind defeating Camilla, who has years of experience fighting with (and against) lightsabers, especially since the Kyber crystal inside of a lightsaber is significantly heavier when wielded by someone it isn't attuned to, meaning that the lightsaber is significantly heavier and harder to use in Todoroki's hands than in Camilla's. In fact, Todoroki's lucky that he got through the fight without injuring himself.
    • Referenced but averted after the USJ, where Ryukyu shoots down Aizawa's suggestion that she could have picked up Camilla's lightsabers to kill the Nomu, saying that only Camilla is attuned to them.
  • “The Reason You Suck” Speech: After Bakugo tries to disrupt the party the 1-A boys are planning for Camilla, Izuku calls him out for being a Jerkass Entitled Bastard with a severe case of Lack of Empathy.
  • Robot Buddy: R3-F14, or just R3 for short, Camilla's astromech droid, who is to her what R2-D2 was to Anakin and later Luke. She mentions that he was initially assigned to her when she first joined the Jedi, as she hadn't gotten the hang of using the Force to "see" and needed someone to help her get around until then, making him one of her oldest friends. It's later revealed he actually spent some time around R2-D2, with Camilla noting he became significantly snarkier after that.

    S - Y
  • Sarashi: It is mentioned that Camilla wears these instead of more regular, Earth-style underwear, which she finds uncomfortable (especially bras).
  • Screams Like a Little Girl: This is Izuku's reaction to his first encounter with Camilla. All Might initially thinks it was Camilla who screamed until Izuku states otherwise.
All Might: (Thinking) Rule one of talking to girls, kid. Never admit you can scream like one in front of them.
  • Secret-Keeper:
    • Originally, only Ryuku, Mirko, Nejire, and Naomasa knew that Camilla was an alien whose power wasn't a Quirk.
    • In the aptly titled "Secrets Revealed" two-parter (chapters 17 and 18), the secret behind Camilla's identity is shared with Izuku, Ochako, and All Might. At the same time, Camilla's caretakers and Ochako learn about One for All and All Might training Izuku to be his successor.
    • After saving them from villains in Chapter 31, Camilla decides to let Kyoka, Tokoyami, and Dark Shadow into her secret when the USJ situation is over.
    • At Nezu's suggestion, she later decides to share the secret with all of 1-A and the teachers.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: Despite being mostly well-off currently, Camilla was traumatized by the Clone Wars and Order 66. During the USJ attack, she experiences a flashback to a battle and briefly lapses back to then. And when a villain mutters "good soldiers follow orders", she has a panic attack, recalling the clones during Order 66 saying the same thing, and kills him.
  • Ship Tease: Between Izuku and Ochako, actually more so than canon as a result of them becoming friends before the entrance exam.
  • Shout-Out: When Camilla explains how Kyber crystals have a bond with Jedi, Kaminari brings up how "the wand chooses the wizard".
  • Sitcom Archenemy: R3 quickly develops a one-sided animosity towards Nejire Hado, mostly due to the latter's Motor Mouth tendencies and desire to accessorize R3 with clothes.
  • Spit Take: Kyoka does this in Chapter 37 when she learns from Camilla that her home galaxy has a genre of music (and one she likes) called "Jizz", spraying her drink on an unfortunate Momo.
  • Technologically Advanced Foe: Justified. The technological advances of both the Republic and the Empire are centuries or millennia more advanced than any technology that Earth has. An example of this is the reaction of all the people who witness Camilla's spaceship, which was capable of interplanetary travel in a matter of hours or minutes, while Earth's space travel capacity is too limited to the point that the farthest recorded crewed trip was to the Moon.
  • That Came Out Wrong: While telling All Might about meeting the vestige of Yoichi Shigaraki, Izuku starts out by saying that he, Uraraka, and Camilla were in Camilla's room and things got weird, initially leading a shocked All Might to think they had a threesome before Izuku realises what he just said and clarifies.
  • Too Kinky to Torture: R3 is distressed to learn that threatening Mei with his shock prod only makes her more excited.
  • Tragic Keepsake: Camilla has her master, Larek Morlev's, lightsaber, who was killed in Order 66.
  • Trapped in Another World: Combined with Lifesaving Misfortune. Due to the damage received to Camilla's spaceship during her escape from the events of Order 66, she effectively cannot leave Earth, no matter how much she wishes to do so, due to the different levels of technologies existing between Earth and the Galactic Republic. However, because Camilla is stranded on Earth, she was able to be safe from the events of the reformation of the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire.
  • Trauma Button: The villains during the USJ attack unintentionally hit Camilla's. One ex-officer presses it a little too hard, which causes Camilla to kill him in a panic attack.
  • Troll: In Chapter 37, Ochako didn't tell the other girls that Camilla lives with Mirko, simply because she knew their surprise (and fear) when an annoyed Mirko answered the door would be hilarious.
  • Uncertain Doom: Camilla's brother disappeared with his master during a mission to settle territorial disputes in the Outer Rim. With the Jedi Order functionally wiped out by Order 66 and the following Purge, it is uncertain if Camilla's brother is still alive or not.
  • Wham Episode: Chapter 38: Make a Wish (Part 2). While it mostly functions as a Breather Episode, at the end Camilla accidentally reveals herself, alerting the Empire and Darth Vader, who sends a Grand Inquisitor to investigate. And this isn't the Grand Inquisitor from Rebels, but Camilla's old friend Miram, which does NOT bode well.
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
    • Less so than other examples, but All Might calls Aizawa out on forcing Camilla to reveal her blindness to her new classmates, even if he had a good reason to do so, leading Aizawa to apologize and explain his actions to all of 1-A the next day.
    • Camilla calls Thirteen out on just standing and doing nothing during Kurogiri's monologue, instead of attacking him, as anyone would do in a life-or-death situation.
    • Kyoka calls Camilla out on not telling any of the teachers about her vision that villains would attack the USJ.
    • Mirko calls All Might out for using all of his time in stopping small crimes instead of saving it up for the class, as his absence was part of what caused the USJ attack to be such a clusterfuck.
    • Several of these occur throughout Chapter 36 as a result of people's reactions to learning the truth about Camilla. Specifically:
      • Mirko (very harshly) and Nezu (more reasonably) call out the teachers over basically abandoning a hurting, broken child the previous night and considering kicking her out when she's in desperate need of help.
      • Izuku and Ochako come down on their classmates for walking out on a friend in need the prior night, and everyone calls out Kyoka for having called Camilla a freak.
    • Nezu also calls out Mirko and Ryukyu for not trying to find Camilla a way to go through therapy. Ryukyu says they were trying to keep knowledge limited to as few people as possible, but admits they should have done more to help Camilla.
    • When Shinso comes to make his declaration of war on 1-A and calls them all arrogant, Camilla points out that no one in 1-A wanted to be put in danger of dying at the USJ, and also that, for someone that claims to want to become a hero, the fact that the first thing he did when meeting 1-A was to antagonize them doesn't look good.
    • Everyone in class 1-A, even Shoto and Bakugo, reacts this way when Mineta, in a fit of vindictive, petty perviness, uses Camilla's touching him to complete her vision to jam her finger in his mouth and suck on it. In particular, Camilla punches him into a wall, Izuku coldly threatens him, and R3 zaps him three times.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Ochako notes that, for all that Izuku praises his friends for their achievements, he is all too easy to downplay his own, and tells him that he's perfectly worthy of praise.
  • You Can See Me?: Thanks to her force abilities, Camilla can see Hagakure as well as she can anyone else, causing the invisible girl to become curious about her. She's quite happy to learn Camilla can't see any of her details.
  • You Can't Go Home Again: Camilla's ship and hyperdrive ring are broken beyond repair, so she's stuck on Earth. It's just as well, though, considering the Republic and Jedi Order have fallen with the shadow of The Empire rising to take their place.
