Beast Wars Prime is a Fusion Fic betweem Transformers: Prime, the IDW Transformers universe, and Beast Wars written by rukatofan89.

Taking place after the season 2 finale, Jack, Miko and Raf are captured by the Decepticons and experimented on, giving rise to a whole new kind of transformer; the techno-organic Maximals.

Available here on Fanfiction.Net, here on Wattpad, and here on Ao3.

Beast Wars Prime provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Gender Identity: Much like her IDW counterpart, Arcee is a transgender female in this story.
  • Accidental Murder: Miko/Solus Prime reveals to Jack/Megatronus Prime that the Discharge of the Requiem Blaster that killed her was caused by her mistakenly striking it with her hammer while attempting to defend herself from the 'pet' provided by Leige Maximo, rather than anything he did.
  • Adaptation Name Change: An interesting example. Traditionally, the Doublespy is called Punch in his true Autobot mode, while his Decepticon disguise is named Counterpunch. Here Punch is the name of his Vehicon disguise while Counterpunch is his true Autobot name.
  • Artificial Hybrid: Optimus Prime begins life as a normal Cybertronian, however, due to his time with Jack hosting his spark while Ratchet rebuilds him, he is transformed into a hybrid of Autobot and Maximal, able to separate from his vehicle mode as a lion
  • Composite Character: For a start, the Maximals are all human characters transformed into techno-organic Cybertronians, meaning that each character is a mix of a human character and at least one Beast Wars character.
    • Miko is a mix of Airazor and Beast Machines Silverbolt in bot mode while taking the name Wing Saber.
    • Raf is Rhinox.
    • Jack's Maximal form has an original name 'Leobolt'; however his design is based on a mix of Beast Machines Cheetor and Leobreaker. His upgraded body is basically a red and blue repaint of Thundertron. From a narrative sense, Jack fills much of the role of Optimus Primal as the leader of the Maximals and conduit of Vector Sigma, as well as carrying Optimus' spark when he is fatally wounded to allow his body to be repaired
      • The trio also combine into Magnaboss, making them composites of Prowl/Lio Junior (Jack), Ironhide/Santon (Raf) and Silverbolt/Skywarp (Miko)
    • Vince, Sierra, and Allison become the second wave of Maximals as Nightscream, Botanica, and Battle Unicron.
    • After Jack reformats him, the resurrected Dreadwing becomes Depth Charge.
    • Averted with June; while June's Maximal form is based off of Beast Machines Blackarachnia, Word of God confirms she will not use that name.
    • G. B. Blackrock becomes Overdrive using Headmaster technology.
    • Agent Fowler is transformed into Survive.
    • Galavar is a mix of Beast Wars Megatron, with the name of his IDW 2021 counterpart and part of IDW 1.0 Galvatron's backstory, including his status as Arcee's twin brother, ultimately taking on the name Galvatron
    • Optimus' second upgrade makes him a composite of Beast Hunters Optimus and his G1 Powermaster incarnation, while his Maximal form is based on Lio Convoy.
    • Thrust and Jetstorm are alternate versions of Jack and Miko note
    • Megatron is rebuilt by Shockwave into Magmatron, complete with his tripartite combiner body, with Word of God stating he will take up that name in due time.
    • In a rare instance where it applies to an inanimate object, the Golden Lagoon, rather than being a pool of Electrum, is a pool of electrified cybermatter able to reformat someone based on their intent, hewng closer to the Well of Transformation
    • Nemesis Prime is rebuilt as an avatar for Unicron, drawing it closer to it's original form, note . Design wise, he is described as a mix of the Transformers: Legacy Scourge toy note  with elements of his original Armada counterpart.
    • Chapter 53 reveals that several characters are reincarnations of the 13 Primes.
      • Rung is Prima
      • Heinrad is Vector Prime
      • Miko is Solus Prime
      • Raf is Micronus Prime
      • Blitzwing is Quintus Prime
      • Starscream is Liege Maximo
      • Jack is Megatronus
    • Solus rebuilds Megatronus' Requiem Blaster into the Armada version, which is made up of three Mini-cons combined into a massively overpowered gun.
  • Combining Mecha: Being Transformers, many combiners have been featured in the story;
    • Jack, Miko and Raf are able to combine into Magnaboss. In one chapter, Magnaboss includes elements of Optimus while Jack is carrying his spark.
    • Megatron's new body as Magmatron is made up of a Giganotosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, and Elasmosaurus that can either fuse themselves into the Magmasaurus chimera or form his robot mode.
  • Decomposite Character: Galvatron is a separate character to Megatron, being Galavar's upgraded form.
    • Rung is the reincarnation of Prima, instead of an amnesiac Primus
  • Exact Words: Arcee promises not to tell Charlie about how Bumblebee used to try and go by Badassatron, but made no such promise about not adressing him by this name while around a group not including Charlie.
  • Heroic Suicide: Knowing he will soon fall under Tarantulas' control again, Shockwave choses to destroy himself to prevent his skills from being used for Unicron's schemes.
  • Meta Mecha: Overdrive, as a Headmaster, is actually a Vehicon corpse controlled by G. B. Blackrock using Headmaster technology
    • Optimus becomes one after his second upgrade, with his Autobot body piloted by his Maximal form.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Optimus Prime's true Prime relic is revealed in Chapter 53 to be his Ion Blaster, the iconic weapon of G1 Optimus Prime.
  • Old Shame: Bumblebee, in his youth, used to try and go by Badassatron. In the present, he considers this an embarrassing secret.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Owing to his narcissistic desire for his twin to be his identical mirror, Galavar violently attacked Arcee when she revealed her desire to transition from male to female.
  • Reimagining the Artifact: Goldbug takes his name in G1 from his VW Beetle alternate mode (a common nickname for which was Bug). When Bumblebee is rebuilt into Goldbug after nearly dying at Galvatron's hand while retaining his muscle car mode, so the name is derived from the Insecticon parts used to repair him.
  • The Stations of the Canon: The first 30 chapters follows the basic plot of Prime Season 3, but with twists.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: During the battle at the Omega Lock, Bumblebee finally gets his voice back... only for Galvatron to brutalizes him in the next arc, disfiguring his face.
