The BFDI TF Saga Again is an ongoing Battle for Dream Island Transformation Fanfiction based on jaybirdking85's BFDI TF Saga. The series itself is posted to DeviantArt by user thenewbean1234, and it's written by him, fournx, and LilithAer.
The fic can be read here
(note that the newest entries go first in the collection’s order)
BFDI Tf Saga Again contain examples of:
- Adaptation Name Change: Snezhana is renamed to Sonia, Blanca to Bianca, Teresina to Tabitha, Pieter to Pierre, Ronda to Rochelle, Willa to Wilma, Dona to Dobroswala, Ginger to Gina, Nicole to Nickelle, Rufus to Rubin, and Yelena to Yasmine.
- Adaptational Nice Guy:
- Icarus in the original was a womanizer with a harem of 10 women. Here, he's Budd's hapless editor, and doesn't do anything wrong throughout his chapter.
- Downplayed with Wilma. Though her crimes are still severe, she's a Well-Intentioned Extremist as opposed to just transforming people for fun.
- Author Appeal: Yeah, in case it isn't obvious, the authors are into Transformation.
- Brandishment Bluff: The shotgun Wilma used to force Anna to create the video is revealed to be fake in the penultimate chapter.
- Conspiracy Theorist: Neil is mentioned to be one by Wilma during her monologue to him in Reap//Sew.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: Icarus freezes to death in his room after his air conditioner lowers to deadly temperatures on its own.
- Darker and Edgier: The original saga didn't focus much on the characters or their transformations. This starkly contrasts the revamp, which sheds more light on both aspects and therefore makes it much more jarring than the original story.
- Lemony Narrator: Three different narrators show up in the stories, each one differentiated by their writing style (e.g. one of them speaks in [italicised square brackets]). All of them are Deadpan Snarkers and have a tendency to discuss completely random topics in the middle of the story.
- Painful Transformation: Judging by the screams and pain mentioned throughout the stories, one could imagine the transformations are much less than pleasant.
