Ashes of Distortion
is a Pokémon fanfiction by The Pilot Archangel that is inspired by Saphroneth's fanfic, Master, Pokémon?. Although instead of a Zorua, Ash is a Giratina. It can be read here. Like Saphroneth's fic, events are not in chronological order.
Trope Examples that can be found:
- Mama Bear: Giratina is not happy when her brothers yell at Ash. To be fair to them, they didn't know that Ash was there and thought he was their sister.
- No-Sell: While hanging out with the lake guardians, Azelf used Self Destruct, knocking himself out, while Ash is unharmed due to his ghost typing. That doesn't stop Mesprit from using Healing Wish to try to heal him, which also results in knocking herself out.
- Older Than They Look: Ash is about 120 years old (as he was born 120 years before the start of the series). Yet he sounds like he's 10 and looks like it when in his human form.
- Pass the Popcorn: Misty casually eats popcorn while watching Ash punish Damian.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Ash's eyes glow red when he confronts Damian at the Pokémon center.
- Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: Damian's Murkrow flat out goes back into her Poke Ball and refues to come out when faced with fighting Ash in his true form.
- Too Dumb to Live: Damian ignores all warning signs that he is pissing off what is basicaly a God. He even tries to catch Ash, which doesn't work.
- Truly Single Parent: Giratina created Ash by taking a portion of her own power away from herself. When she wakes up after falling asleep next to the blob of energy, a mini Giratina (Ash) was lying next to her when she woke up. This is also how Arceus created her and her siblings and how Dialga and Palkia created their own children.
- Voice of the Legion: Giratina and Ash do this when they are really pissed off.
