A Stray Raven's Answer is a Code Geass/Armored Core crossover Self-Insert Fic by P4R4D0X. The SI awakens in the world of Code Geass armed with memories of Armored Core and decides to use his knowledge to take the fight against Britannia.

It can also be read here and here.

A Stray Raven's Answer contains examples of:

  • Ace Custom: The Mechanic likes making these for himself.
    • The first one, named Commando, is a modified Glasgow. The Mechanic initially equipped it with a back mounted 155mm cannon, a modified Knightmare assault in its left hand, a forearm-mounted chaingun on its right arm, and various thrusters. He later changes its loadout to a 40mm battle rifle in its left hand, twin linked 70mm rocket pods on the back, and a Pile Bunker called the Donskoy on its right arm. The Britannians codenamed it "Ogre".
    • The second one is also a modified Glasgow. The Mechanic modified it into a sniper with a rail cannon dubbed the Hackbut, long range sensors, scanners, and cameras, and also gave it tetrapedal legs. After turning it into a sniping machine and learning that the Britannians have taken to calling Japan's modified machines the Glasgow Merrymans, the Mechanic codenamed this machine Loxley. After learning the Britannians codenamed it the Glasgow Sherwood, he proceeds to nickname it the Robin.
    • The third one, named Grozny, is a Knightmare with tank treads instead of legs. It is also more heavily armored and comes equipped with a missile pod called the Smederevo, a 155mm artillery rail gun called the Lindenhof, a 40mm autocannon called the Leimbach, and a Pile Bunker called the Muromets. The Britannians codenamed it "Nuckelavee".
    • The SI's first Armored Core, the Ivanhoe, is more than twice the size and ten times the weight of Knightmares and comes equipped with far more powerful weaponry with a 40x180mm ETC Rail Machine Gun, an arm mounted High Frequency Blade, a 12 cell 190x1500mm multi missile pod, a 240x810mm ETC Rail Artillery Cannon, a 30x113mm ETC Rail Chain Gun for CIW, and the Crest Industries CWEM-AM40 Active Protection System.
  • Ace Pilot: Kimera is better than any other Knightmare pilot, bar none, as he demonstrates when he annihilates multiple Knightmares on his own.
  • Actually, I Am Him: The SI likes doing this to people who don't know that he's both the Mechanic and Kimera.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Kimera's rematch against Halder Fullurzhdein consists of effortlessly countering everything the Britannian can do, taunting his opponent all the while, before finishing him with little effort.
    • Kimera's first fight with the Ivanhoe has him almost effortlessly annihilating three Knights of the Round.
  • Curb-Stomp Cushion: Unlike the rest of the pilots Kimera has fought up to that point, Halder Fullurzhdein, the Knight of Twelve, is able to hold his own for a while in their first battle before being forced to eject.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: The Mechanic's knowledge on Armored Cores allows him to make vast improvements on local Knightmares. His improvements are so good that Britannia does its best to replicate what he's done based on captured Knightmares.
  • Given Name Reveal: Chapter 39 reveals that the SI told Kallen his real name: Martin.
  • Heroism Motive Speech: Kimera gives one of these right before he kills Halder Fullurzhdein, the Knight of Twelve.
  • Humongous Mecha: The SI's first Armored Core, the Ivanhoe, is more than twice the size and ten times the weight of Knightmares.
  • Mistaken Ethnicity: Everyone believes the SI is a Britannian, usually because of his looks and accent.
  • No-Sell: Downplayed. The SI is resistant to Geass. This will fade with each application he receives.
  • Omniglot: The SI speaks all of his languages extremely fluently to the point of not having an accent, so no one can tell his ethnicity or nationality by listening for an accent.
  • One-Man Army: Thanks to a combination of his piloting skills and superior Knightmare, Kimera can wipe out teams of Knightmares with little or no assistance.
  • Point of Divergence:
    • Because of the SI's actions, the Japanese resistance is able to actually make headway in their efforts to fight off the occupying Britannians.
    • The chaos brought about by the rapid strengthening of the Japanese resistance made it too difficult for Clovis to capture C.C., allowing her to enter the Ashfords' employment as a new maid for Lelouch and Nunnally.
  • Red Baron:
    • The SI learns from Naoto that some people call Kimera "the Beast of Kansai" from his accomplishments.
    • The Britannian that Kimera spares becomes obsessed with taking him down, earning her the nickname "Bloody Mary" from her allies due to her zeal.
    • After Todoh demonstrates his skill as a Devicer on the battlefield with his Toyohiro Kensei, he gains a second in addition to his canonical nickname of "Tohdoh of Miracles": "The Sword Saint of Miracles". In contrast, the Britannians call him "the Black Butcher".
    • Kallen earns the name "Samurai of Shinjuku" by the Japanese from fighting Britannians while evacuating ghettos that were subjected to Britannian crackdowns. In contrast, the Britannians call her "the Rusted Samurai".
  • The Revolution Will Not Be Civilized: Downplayed. The SI's pragmatism and morality and Tohdoh's sense of honor ensured that the initial wave of resistance was purely against the Britannian military and police. However, to Tohdoh's dismay, as the resistance gains more momentum, some members started expanding their attacks to Britannian civilians as well.
  • Running Gag: People keep assuming the SI is a Britannian.
  • Shout-Out: The Ivanhoe is equipped with a High Frequency Blade.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Naoto is alive due to his resistance cell having better equipment than in canon as a result of buying some from from the Mechanic.
  • Two Aliases, One Character: The SI has two that he uses in place of a real name: Kimera when he's on the battlefield and the Mechanic when he's off the battlefield.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: After the Japanese resistance gains momentum, Tohdoh is disturbed to learn that some members have started voicing protests about the fact that a foreigner is helping them, despite the fact that said foreigner is literally the only reason the resistance even has a shot at fighting the Brittanians in the first place.
  • Unknown Rival: The Britannian that Kimera spares becomes obsessed with taking him down, but he doesn't even know her name (Maria Blanchet) nor acknowledge her whenever they meet again on the battlefield.
  • We Have Reserves: The Knights of Nine, Ten, and Eleven reveal to Mary and her adjunct Max that their plan to take down Kimera and decapitate the Japanese resistance amounts to sending their men to die as meat shields after previously bombarding the resistance's position in order to soften their targets before personally eliminating them altogether.
  • Worthy Opponent: Downplayed. Kimera spares a pilot in Chapter 9 as she took the initiative to charge him rather than stand around and get demolished like what would usually happen. Although Kimera later admits to one of his allies that he spared her so that she could tell others that he's a better pilot than any Britannian.
"You had more balls than the rest of your squad, charging me like that, I like that."
