- If you see a post in all caps, take a drink.
- If you see any logical fallacies (see this website if you can't find any), take a sip.
- If the fallacy is ad hominem, slippery slope, or strawman, take 2 sips.
- If someone accuses another person of using a fallacy, take 3 sips.
- If you see a slur ("fag", "retard", the n-word, etc) being used to refer to anyone the poster disagrees with, take a drink.
- If you see a Wall of Text, take a sip.
- If the last paragraph or the immediately following post contains the 5-character sequence "TL;DR"note , take 2 sips.
- If someone uses a holy book as a source, take a sip.
- If the argument has nothing to do with religion, take 2 sips.
- If you see a cliche conspiracy theory ("Bush did 9/11", "the moon landing was faked", etc) take a drink.
- If you see more than 5 instances of the word "fuck" in the same post, take a sip.
- If you see an otherwise reasonable post spoiled by unnecessary insults, take a drink.
- If you see an image macro and/or GIF, take a sip.
- If it involves popcorn, take 2 sips.
- If you see a completely apolitical thread somehow devolve into political mudslinging, take a long hard drink and palm your face.
- If you see someone use (dubious) statistics for their argument, take a drink.
- Take a drink every time you read a particular argument that's already been stated millions of times before by other people.
- Take a second drink if you know the person who posted the argument has already seen it debunked and is clearly only posting it again in bad faith.
- Take a sip if Godwin's Law is invoked.
