Take a sip...

  • Whenever the host asks the audience a question.
  • When the host finds a clue.
    • Two if they find one after doing a favor for someone in the house.
  • If the host mishears "a clue" as something else that rhymes with it.
  • Any time the host draws the clue in a different color crayon than black.
  • Every time Snail appears in the background.
  • When it's mailtime.
  • Whenever a song is sung.
  • Whenever the characters skidoo into a different location. Two if they've previously gone there in a previous episode.
  • Whenever any of the other animal characters (Magenta, Green Puppy, Periwinkle, etc.) make an appearance.
  • If either one of the clues or the answer to Blue's Clues is a character in the show.
  • Anytime another live-action human character (such as Miranda) appears in an episode.
  • Any time the show's usual formula is different for an episode (examples, if the episode takes place at night, if there's no mailtime segment, if Blue's Clues isn't even played in the episode, etc.).
  • If Sidetable Drawer's only line of dialogue in the episode is "Blue's Clues, I'm so excited!" or "I just love Blue's Clues!".
    • Take two drinks if it is not, and Sidetable Drawer is a supporting character in an episode.
  • If the "12" on Tickety Tock is a picture or symbol instead.
  • Whenever Slippery Soap says "Whoa!" or "Woohoo!"
  • Whenever Periwinkle performs a magic trick.
  • Whenever Green Puppy knocks over a tower of blocks.
  • Whenever you hear Blue's birthday song in "Blue's Birthday" or "Happy Birthday Blue".
  • If someone goes to the bathroom or asks to in "Morning Music" or "Tickety's Big Musical Morning".
  • When Josh uses the smartphone half of his Handy Dandy Notebook.
