Majora's Mask, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom have their own pages.

  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past:
    • Slightly altered dialogue exists for obtaining the second and third pendants out of order.
    • Zelda also has slightly different dialogue after rescuing her from Turtle Rock if you play the dungeons out of sequence and haven't yet rescued all six of the other maidens.
  • In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, you at one point take Marin to wake up a sleeping walrus at the Animal Village. Though you don't have to do anything else other than this, and she exits your party after the event is complete, she has reactions to nearly every action you can take at this point in the game: digging holes, attacking Cuccos, breaking pots, checking dressers (she'll admonish you for going through other people's things), playing the Ocarina (she mentions your playing isn't very good), and a very funny Easter Egg scene if you play the Trendy Game. Several NPCs, such as the quintuplets, will also react to Marin's presence. If you enter a dungeon, Marin waits outside, and her response when you come back is different depending on how much health you lost. The DX remake added a few extra scenes with Marin, but they are required for completing the photo sidequest; they were kept as optional events in the Switch remake.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time:
    • It is possible to leave Dodongo's Cavern after obtaining the Bomb Bag, use bombs to access Zora's River, and complete Jabu-Jabu's Belly before the remainder of Dodongo's Cavern. If you do so, the game will correctly state that the Zora's Sapphire is the second Spiritual Stone Link has recovered, rather than the third.
    • Normally, when adult Link enters the Gerudo Fortress and gets caught, he gets tossed into a prison cell that can only be escaped by using the Hookshot. If you engage in a bit of Sequence Breaking and get Epona before the Longshot, and enter the Gerudo Fortress by jumping over the broken bridgenote , you won't get trapped in the cell if caught — the guards just throw you outside the entrance to the village. Because Link cannot enter the Gerudo Fortress from Gerudo Valley as a child (at least, not without exploiting a glitch or two), some players might try to enter the Gerudo Fortress as a child through the back door: by travelling backwards through the Haunted Wasteland from the Desert Colossus. Crafty players who manage to do so (which is impossible without glitching OR cheating as child Link cannot cross the River of Sand) will find that the gate is closed and a Gerudo guard is standing in front of it, telling the player that children are not allowed to enter.
    • Although it's effectively impossible to get Nayru's Love before facing Dark Link, as getting it requires either the Longshot (obtained for beating Dark Link) or the Hover Boots (obtained in a dungeon that can't be explored until after the Water Temple is beaten), the developers considered the possibility of the player finding a way to get their hands on it prior via glitches or cheating. Dark Link reacts to Nayru's Love by becoming entirely defensive, shielding and dodging without attempting to attack, until it wears off.note
    • It's also possible to thaw out King Zora with a Zora Tunic already in possession, if you thaw out the Zora Shop first. King Zora has unique... interesting... dialogue if you do this. However, this is not possible with the Goron Tunic, as you can't buy it as a child and the Goron Shop is locked until you talk to Darunia's son. If you used a cheating or hacking device, he will give you a Blue Rupee instead.
King Zora: What?! You already have one? You're ready for anything, aren't you! With my heartfelt thanks...how about a KISS?! What? You don't want it?! Oh well...
    • A minor example compared to the others, but should you do a little bit of Sequence Breaking and clear the Gerudo Training Grounds before fighting Bongo Bongo, using the Ice Arrows on its hands freezes them and triggers an unique action where Bongo Bongo uses its free hand to break the ice encasing the other.
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker:
    • Even though the average player would likely never see this, the game puts up an invisible wall behind the row of sapling trees on the path to the Forest of Fairies on Outset Island, just to make doubly sure players don’t make it up there without a sword in the early game. The only way to see this is by triggering a glitch to lose your sword later in the game, then coming back to Outset and using the boomerang to cut down the saplings.
    • Even with the Ballad of Gales, it’s impossible to obtain the Fire and Ice Arrows before clearing the Forsaken Fortress, as the Queen of Fairies refuses to grant Link an audience until the time is right. When she does reveal herself, she’ll also speak some alternate dialogue in the event that you tried to meet her prematurely.
    • Provided you know where they are, it’s possible to obtain some of the Triforce shards before you’re told about them as per the plot. If this is done, the King of Red Lions notes that you already possess some knowledge of them when he first tells Link to seek them out.
    • If the player sequence breaks and completes the Triforce of Courage before finishing the Wind Temple (possible if one retrieves the Hookshot from the temple, then leaves to collect the Triforce piece before finishing the dungeon), the King of Red Lions will admonish Link to head to Hyrule rather than collect the Triforce after leaving the Temple.
    • After visiting Greatfish Isle for the first time, you can take a detour to previous areas while the ocean is in a state of perpetual night and rain. This effect extends to every location you have access to in the game, even those in which this weather can't normally be seen, including the outdoor cliffs of Dragon Roost Cavern, and the open-air sections of the Forest Haven and Forbidden Woods.
    • Using Forest Water on the core of Kalle Demos kills it instantly, due to it being purifying water and Kalle Demos being an evil plant. Note that in order to make this work, you need to sprint through the Forbidden Woods before the Forest Water reverts to regular water. (And by "sprint", we mean "leave the dungeon when beating Kalle Demos itself is the last thing you need to do in there, get some Forest Water, then come back".)
    • Even though it is usually impossible to hit any boss in the game with a Light Arrow, which are obtained in the final dungeon, through a glitch in the original and a Sequence Break in the remake, it is possible to use them. Shooting the ghostly Jalhalla with one will instantly solidify it to make it vulnerable, which you would otherwise do by reflecting light onto it.
    • In the HD version, Zunari is given some new dialogue wherein he asks you to rescue his friend Tingle from the town jail before he sells you a boat’s sail. In the event that you free Tingle first, though, Zunari won’t mention him at all, and will resort to using his normal dialogue from the Gamecube version, word for word.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess:
    • The Hero’s Shade has special dialogue if you go to learn the second hidden skill, the shield bash, without a shield in your inventory. Specifically, he’ll explain that he’s about to teach you a defensive technique and that you’ll need to leave to go find one. Since there is no way to lose the Ordon Shield in between when you find the Howling Stone and your next trip back to Ordon where the golden wolf is waiting, a player would need to either forget about or deliberately ignore him in order to view this text after losing their shield to a fire attack.
    • Since the game lacks a magic meter (having been Dummied Out late in development), the series' standard green potions aren't available; however, it's possible to bait blue and yellow Chus to merge into a green one, then kill it to acquire a green jelly for a magic meter that doesn't exist. While the original Wii version just had a blank text box, and the GameCube version patched this so blue and yellow Chus create purple instead, the HD release for the Wii U kept this oversight in and properly added text to reflect the uselessness of green chu jelly.
