Dethroning Moment / Kaeloo

Go To

Kaeloo may be considered to be a highly entertaining show which can entertain both kids and adults, but there are some moments even the show's biggest fans were disappointed by.

Keep in mind:

  • Sign your entries.
  • One moment per work to a troper. If multiple entries are signed to the same troper, the more recent one will be cut.
  • Moments only, no "just everything he said," "This entire show," or "This entire series" entries.
  • No contesting entries. This is subjective, and the entry is their opinion.
  • No natter. As above, anything contesting an entry will be cut, and anything that's just contributing more can be made its own entry.
  • Explain why it's a Dethroning Moment of Suck.
  • No Real Life examples, including Executive Meddling. It only invites a flame war.
  • No ALLCAPS, no bold, and no italics unless it's the title of a work. We are not yelling the DMoSs out loud.

  • Randomness Unlimited: In the three-part finale of season 5, Kaeloo sets out to reunite the gang. For some reason she first searches for Stumpy, Quack-Quack, and Pretty, the last of whom is not even a part of the main gang, and then has to be reminded by Quack-Quack to go search for Mr. Cat, which is utterly jarring considering how close the two really are. This scene throws away four seasons' worth of relationship development to reveal that Kaeloo cares so little about Mr. Cat that she would voluntarily search for Pretty, someone who has bullied and harassed her and her friends for four seasons, but not even bother to think about looking for Mr. Cat (who has stuck by her side in countless situations where everyone else abandoned her) until Quack-Quack reminded her.
  • Troperinik: Episode 197. After four seasons of character development and multiple episodes showing how close the main four are, we see Mr. Cat outright abandon the main four for money without so much as a second thought except for a half-hearted "apology" from him to Kaeloo, which doesn't even seem genuine.
  • Desired Username Taken: Stumpy and Quack Quack's treatment of Kaeloo in Episode 133. For some reason, they're choosing to act like elitist snobs and are perfectly cool with Pretty insulting Kaeloo to the point of almost crying, a thing which even Pretty herself, and Mr. Cat, the antagonist of the show, find absolutely horrible.
  • Bacon Fan: In Episode 240, when Mr. Cat reunites with his friends, he gets into a car with Kaeloo, Stumpy, Quack-Quack, and Pretty, and Kaeloo says "the gang's all here". Since when is Pretty part of the gang?
  • Double Duck Avenger: Pretty publishing two million copies of a tell-all book with the main four's secrets and getting away with it at the end of Episode 118. And the main four decide to just accept this and leave.
  • Emanresu Modnar: In the episode "Let's Play Justice Masters", Mr. Cat's doctor tells him he's really stressed out and needs to relax. Mr. Cat goes home and informs his roommates about this, and the three are completely unaware that they're the main cause of it. They try to "help" him relax, but it fails spectacularly, and they end up injuring and stressing him out further. The Mr. Cat abuse is taken up to eleven in this episode, the poor kitty is on the verge of tears, and worst of all, unlike other episodes, he didn't even do anything to deserve it.
  • Axo Parking Lotl: In Episode 181, Mr. Cat uses magic to give his friends nightmares For the Evulz, and Kaeloo retaliates by transforming and knocking him out so he will also experience a nightmare, which is a justified punishment. What isn't justified is that Mr. Cat's nightmare was so bad that it induced some kind of panic attack, and once Mr. Cat wakes up, Kaeloo tells Mr. Cat that he deserved that and then starts talking to the audience in a cheerful voice while Mr. Cat is curled up, shaking like a leaf, and staring off into the distance, barely registering her presence. The episode basically depicts a scared child with anxiety suffering from an anxiety attack while his best friend, the closest thing he has to family, tells him he deserves to suffer and then ignoring him.
