Darth Wiki / Sonic After The Fourth Adventure

Go To

Taking place in between Sonic 4:Episode 2 and Sonic Adventure, Sonic:After the Fourth Adventure is the second game in the Sonic Crossover!/Sonic Anime! trilogy of fan games. Dr. Eggman is back and this time, he creates his own version of H.A.A.R.P. to bring the citizens of the newly built Station Square (and eventually the world) into accepting his rule.

And yes, Hilda and Ritsu accompany Sonic on his journey once again, but this time, Tails, Rosa and Yui join them in the fight against Eggman!

This game contains examples of:

  • Action Girl:Hilda and Ritsu, again.
  • Adaptational Heroism:Ritsu, Yui and Mugi are from an anime with no bad guys whatsoever, but in this fan game, the three of them are heroines. The same thing can be said for all three of them in the sequel and in the case of Ritsu and Yui, the prequel.
  • Badass Normal:Hilda, Rosa, Serena, Ritsu, Yui and Mugi.
  • Big Boo's Haunt:Ghastly Abode Zone.
  • Call-Back and Call-Forward:Station Square appears in the background of the Finality Theory Zone, and it hasn't appeared yet, at least chronologically.
  • The Cameo:Some examples:
    • Yoshi appears in the Yoshi's Cavern Zone.
    • A brainwashed version of Akira Wada from the K-On! College manga appears as a boss in the Dream Buffet Zone.
    • Yancy appears on a billboard at the end of act 2 of the Freedom Town Zone.
    • Spike from Ape Escape helps out in breaking down a barrier in Sweet Mountain act 1.
  • Canon Immigrant:Sargeant Kooperman from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show.
    • In addition (since the K-On! portion of the crossover is based on the anime), Akira Wada.
  • Crossover:With Pokémon and K-On! for the second time.
  • Dummied Out:The Starvation Planet a.k.a. Fearful Famine Zone. It was planned to be a "what-if" zone that shows one of many possibilities that would happen if Eggman took over Sonic's world, but ended up being discarded since "You don't portray Mass Starvation in a Sonic game, Period!".
  • Endgame+:The Finality Theory Zone is unlocked once you beat the Operation:Superstorm! boss with the Chaos Emeralds.
    • Oh, and Knuckles, Serena and Mugi are unlocked as playable characters.
  • Eternal Engine:Operation:Superstorm!
  • Interquel:Takes place inbetween Sonic 4:Episode 2 and Sonic Adventure.
  • Level Ate:Dream Buffet Zone.
  • Playboy Bunny:In a secret pictue which is only accessed by a Sonic CD-style sound test cheat code, Hilda and Ritsu are dressed in their own sexy Playboy bunny suits, complete with flattering pantyhose! As a bonus, this code also allows access to the Debug Mode of the game.
  • Recycled Soundtrack:Pretty much every song in the game.
  • Secret Level:Sky Chase, Rock, Genocide City, Yoshi's Cavern and Sweet Mountain.
  • Shout-Out:The Operation:Superstorm! and Finality Theory Zones are a reference to the real-life H.A.A.R.P. conspiracy theory.
    • Some Super Mario power-ups (Super Mushroom, Fire Flower and Tanooki Suit) can be used by various characters anytime once found in the Kawaii Continent Zone.
    • In one cutscene, Sonic calls Eggman a "Big Dummy".
      • To which Eggman responds back by calling Sonic a "Dingbat".
    • The Yoshi's Cavern Zone is a shoutout to the Yoshi's Island games.
  • Story Arc:This is the second game of the Sonic Crossover!/Sonic Anime! trilogy of fan games.
  • Weather-Control Machine:The machine which the Operation:Superstorm! level takes place on.
  • Wheel of Feet:Every playable character in the game, again.
