Galaxy Falling is an as-of-yet unpublished collection of fanfiction based on the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: The Old Republic. It is a retelling that notably averts Cutting Off the Branches.

Impervious tells the story of two fallen Jedi as they reconnect, try to save the galaxy, and redeem themselves along the way.

The Collision of Stars takes place three centuries later, and revolves around a greatly expanded cast of characters. At its heart, however, are two unlikely heroes who find themselves on a path neither of them could ever have anticipated.

Galaxy Falling provides examples of:

  • Action Girl: Many. As per Star Wars tradition, of course.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Thanks to lacking the Idiot Ball they enthusiastically grabbed in canon, Revan and the Exile come across this way in the conclusion of their storyline. They attempt to inform the Jedi and Republic of the Sith Empire's existence, and only fail due to Vitiate countermanding their efforts directly.
  • Adaptational Sympathy:
    • While in canon Scourge kills the Exile and betrays Revan when they confront Vitiate, here he simply opts to walk away despite genuinely desiring to follow through their original plan. Still a dick move, but it makes him much more sympathetic than his canon counterpart.
    • Canonically, Arcann orders the destruction of five populated planets to drive the Alliance out of hiding, effectively spearheading a genocide. Here, this is merely an assumption made by the Alliance; Vaylin is the one who orders the bombings, behind Arcann's back. This change makes his eventual Heel–Face Turn much easier to swallow.
  • Adaptational Villainy: A minor example. Vaylin is pretty firmly on the villainous side both here and in canon, but she has two additional actions that push her toward this: ordering the bombings of five worlds, and forcing the Knights of Zakuul to duel each other to punish them. While very much in line with her canonical characterization, these atrocities were originally attributable to Arcann instead.
  • The Alliance: The Eternal Alliance, obviously. It's a coalition of Republic, Imperial, and independent forces.
  • Badass Family:
    • The Shan family produces an extensive line of badasses. At one point, Satele and Theron even fight side by side with the spirit of their ancestor Revan.
  • Badass Normal: And plenty of them. Pretty much any Force-blind main character is going to qualify as such.
  • Black-and-Grey Morality:
    • Revan was a ruthless Sith Lord prior to Knights of the Old Republic who fell to the Dark Side of her own volition—or perhaps even "leaped", as Kreia puts it. Even once redeemed, the stain of her past actions is still felt by everyone. In addition, Jasper is a literal war criminal who only retains his allies by inadvertently acting as a Force parasite. Meanwhile, their enemies include comically evil Sith Lords and an Omnicidal Maniac.
    • More broadly, the Sith and Republic fit into this framework. The Republic has plenty of issues, while there are plenty of sympathetic characters among the Sith. However, it's still light years ahead of the racist, backstabbing, oppressive Sith Empire. Although the Empire shows surprising improvement as time passes, it's still a much more dangerous and ruthless place.
    • The Eternal Alliance vs the Eternal Empire also qualify. The Alliance is a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits lead by a former Punch-Clock Villain Mandalorian and a highly cunning Sith, even going so far as to recruit terrorists. Meanwhile, the Eternal Empire is functionally similar to the Sith Empire at its worst.
  • Delaying Action: Revan and Jasper's attack on Darth Vitiate proves to be this, as the combination of their influence and pressure within the Republic force him to delay his attack by three centuries.
  • Enemy Mine:
    • The Republic and Empire (at least under Satele and Marr) combine their forces to deal with the encroaching threat of the Sith Emperor. It only slows him down, since the Eternal Empire enters the picture not long after and curb-stomps both factions.
  • Foe Romance Subtext: Malak has this towards both Revan and Bastila. He seems to pay no mind to invading their personal space and obsessing over them. It's to the point where there's a common (albeit false) assumption in-universe that Revan and Malak were lovers.
  • Good Republic, Evil Empire: While the series delves into Black-and-Gray Morality, the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire still broadly fit into this framework.
  • Improbable Age: All over the place in the Old Republic era storylines. During their class stories, the majority of the protagonists are fairly young despite their immense accomplishments. This is gradually averted as time passes, however, since the story arc takes place over nearly two decades.
  • Karma Houdini:
    • Revan. Despite launching a brutal war against the Jedi and the Republic and going full Dark Side, her Heel–Face Turn is apparently enough to shield her from any lasting consequences. While she does save the galaxy, it's still jarring to see her praised as a galactic hero when her actions resulted in the deaths of millions.
  • Light Feminine Dark Feminine: Bastila is the Light Feminine to Revan's Dark Feminine. Though this dynamic changes after Bastila's Face–Heel Turn, which sees Revan as A Lighter Shade of Grey by comparison.
  • Like Brother and Sister: Revan and Jasper have this dynamic, with the latter explicitly stating that he loves Revan like an older sister.
  • Mildly Military: The Eternal Alliance definitely falls into this. While part of it stems from the diverse nature of the coalition, the Alliance army seems to lack any standard uniform or formal protocol beyond simply obeying orders. The Alliance's operation style seems to be a mix of Republic, Imperial, Zakuulan, and Mandalorian.
  • Muggle Born of Mages: This seems to be a recurring theme in the Revan/Shan family tree, despite the fact that Force-sensitivity is typically hereditary. Revan's daughter Alaida, Alaida and Maelo's son Vaner, and their descendant Theron Shan fall under this trope.
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling: Given the number of involved Jedi and Sith, this inevitably pops up from time to time.
    • Upon activating the Mass Shadow Generator during the Battle of Malachor V, both Revan and Jasper sense the huge loss of life that subsequently ensues. Given his unique powers, Jasper is affected much more severely, and ends up reflexively cutting himself off from the Force just to survive.
    • When the last vestiges of the Sith Emperor's spirit are finally purged, pretty much everyone senses the sudden shift in the Force.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: Revan and Jasper are clearly this, being close, lifelong friends of disparate gender.
  • Related Differently in the Adaptation: In canon, Vaner Shan is the son of Revan and Bastila. In this work (which depicts Revan as a woman), Vaner is instead their mutual grandson. This neatly combines their bloodlines for The Collision of Stars, where Satele and Theron Shan are depicted as being both of their descendants.
