Blood Reflections is a Play-by-Post game based on various different vampire fandoms (as well as a few non-vampire ones), with the primary fandom being Young Dracula.
Set immediately after Season 3 of Young Dracula, the site's main plot is currently focused on Vladimir "Vladdy" Dracula, the vampire Chosen One , prophesised to bring the vampires out of hiding, and his rapidly approaching 18th birthday, which will signal his ascension to the head of the Vampire High Council.
Of course, Vlad's attitude towards "breathers" will leave quite a few vampires wanting nothing to do with his plans. Vlad certainly has a lot of work ahead of him.
And then, there's the curious development that Vlad's best friend, Robin Branagh, has been missing from his home in Stokely for months now...
Funny
- How Godric reveals to the Vampire High Council, with casual nonchalance, that Alucard isn't as dead as they thought him to be.
Blood Reflections includes examples of:
- Alternate Universe: As mentioned, set in one where almost all vampire fandoms exist.
- Fur Against Fang: One subspecies of vampire has been at war with at least one subspecies of werewolf for hundreds of years. Werewolves are also fatal to two more vampire subspecies.
- Holy Burns Evil: Any religious object will repel vampires, provided the wielder has faith in the religion it represents.
- Mega Crossover: The fandoms available include, but are not limited to:
- Young Dracula
- The Addams Family
- Being Human
- Blade
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel
- Casper
- Cirque du Freak
- Dark Shadows (series and film)
- Die Now or Live Forever
- Fright Night (2011)
- Hellsing
- I Kissed A Vampire
- Let the Right One In
- The Little Vampire
- The Lost Boys
- Mockingbird Lane
- True Blood
- Underworld (2003)
- The Vampire Diaries
- Missing Reflection: Most vampires (with the exception of a few subspecies) do not cast reflections.
- Monster Progenitor: Alucard, the Mikaelson family and Mister Snow are all progenitors of different subspecies of vampire.
- Retcon: In order to fit the various different vampire fandoms together, many changes needed to be made to each fandom. A detailed list can be found here.
- Undead Child: Vampires are strictly prohibited from Siring children, but that doesn't stop it happening. Examples include Alexander Drew (who has also escaped the wrath of the Council), Bernie, Charlotte (who is a Pureblood and therefore protected from the law on vampire children), Oskar Eriksson and Eli (who are currently in hiding, but would be protected from the Council due to the nature of their subspecies) and the Sackville-Bagg children (also protected from the law on vampire children, due to the nature of their subspecies).
- Vampire Hunter: In addition to the Slayers, there is also the (less competent) Slayer's Guild, as well as independent hunters, such as Blade.
- Vampires Own Nightclubs: Leonard owns "Lost Dogs" in London, while Eric Northman and Pam Swynford De Beaufort own Fangtasia in Louisiana. Both operate under the pretense that they are merely vampire-themed so that any human who enters doesn't discover their true nature.
- Weakened by the Light: Sunlight is fatal to most vampires (apart from one subspecies and Alucard).
- Your Vampires Suck: From this information thread:Recently, there has been a series of 'books' (used in the loosest sense of the word) surfacing that use the name 'vampire' for one of their species when, in fact, they bear almost no resemblance to actual vampires. Vampires themselves are disgusted at these 'books', considering them an insult to vampire kind. It is frankly astounding that the author has managed to survive this long, given that there are several hundred vampires (at least) who wish her dead.
