A spin off of The Gingerverse. It revolves around Aurora Pekkanen, Marja-Liisa Lahti, Johanna Mustonen and Helena Laukkanen, a group of girls from Finland who are in the singing group Aurora Borealis, and their rivals the Soviet Villains (simply known as the Soviets) from Russia. Has two spin offs: Aurora Borealis In Another Dimension and Aurora Borealis Trouble In Europe.

  • Regional Riff: Most of the characters have one of these.
    • Cassie and Doowee are represented by bagpipes.
    • European accordion is used to represent Gia, Kowalski, Tiina, Zaiga and Nordica.
  • The Backwards Я: The Soviet Villains' logo is written this way.
  • Name and Name: Aurora's favorite cartoon is called Darla and Tulip (Darla ja Tulppani in Finnish)

  • Love Interest: in The Not Boring Cartoon Crossover, she becomes the love interest of Doowee McAdam. Doowee later on becomes a recurring character in the Aurora Borealis universe and is Tiina's boyfriend.

  • Funetik Aksent: How she writes (which she only does when Americans are around).

  • Meganekko: She wears giant black glasses. However she looks more cute than nerdy due to the fact that she mostly wears dresses and skirts. When she wears pants they are pink, purple and light blue or light yellow (unless she is wearing the colours of the Scottish flag, which are dark blue and white).

A Korean girl who was originally seen in Going Seoulo (as the villain), she is now the leader of the group. She has a deep hatred for Aurora Pekkanen.

Lubova is an avid Soviet fan and wants to be in the group so badly, however she is considered only good for bossing around.

Fjolla of Albania

A woman from Albania who would help the Soviets by sabotaging Aurora.


Baroness Nordica of Scandinavia and Mother Russia

Two characters that represent Aurora and the Soviets respectively (the Baroness represents Aurora, Mother Russia represents the Soviets).

Future Soviets

The Soviets as adults. They also are members of the Bolshoys.

Irina Dorvanova

A criminal who tried to frame the groups for graffiti.


An ally of Aurora who was formerly evil and liked scaring people in her home country, Japan. She wears a mask because she has a deformed face.

The Russian

A jealous and insane woman who hates men.

The Bolshoys

A group of Russian criminals who the Soviets control. Their aim is to destroy Finland. They consist of Svetoslava, Masha and Kseniya.

S.T. Tarja

A Finnish woman who appears to be on the Soviets' side.

Bathory de Groot

A woman who pretended to be Belgian/Dutch, and also has a grudge against Doowee and Aurora Borealis after they accidentally splashed her with mud.
