The Aspects which govern the Universe are Anthropomorphic Personifications of the different, countless things making up the Universe. (More description to come later)
Though the concept was originally thought up by Jimmy, it was expanded with the help of Metavengers Katt, Gabe, and Whetton.
Tropes explored in this 'verse include...
- Angel Unaware Most of the Aspects have a glamoured mortal form, in which they still have minor control over their powers. Altruism is the most fond of taking his mortal form and aiding others. When Fear remained in human form while courting Amélie, she knew nothing of his true nature (though she believed in his magic and the people of her village thought he was the Devil).
- Blue-and-Orange Morality The Aspects are mostly interested in their continuing existences and the existence of the Universe.
- Fear Takes A Holiday After his lover, Spring, leaves him, Fear spends roughly forty years entirely in human form with a young French woman. Though he can still sort of use his abilities, the world lacks fear and courage. This period becomes the beginning of the Rennaissance, however.
- Divine Parentage In their aforementioned mortal forms, Aspects can procreate with humans. Their Descendants have minor magical abilities and the Sight.
- Grey-and-Gray Morality Invoked with the conflict between the Aspects and the hunters. Though the majority of the hunters choose to remain ignorant about the Aspects, they do fulfill a helpful purpose: hunting down harmful supernatural beings. The Aspects can be assholes, too.
- Gods Need Prayer Badly Sort of. Though they don't need it to exist, the Aspects severely decrease in power if people stop believing in their existence or even just the importance of the Aspect, as their lack of importance to mortals is converted to a lack of power in their realm.
- Spirit World The Aspects' true forms exist in the Dream Realm, the manifestation of the human subconscious. This is where humans go when they dream, though many don't notice it.
- Supernatural Sensitivity Both the Aspects and their descendants have this. Aspects can immediately detect each other, and are able to tell the lineage of a descendant. Descendants can detect Aspects as well as other descendants, but with less clarity.
- True Sight Descendants of the Aspects have this ability, which renders them able to see the Aspects' true forms when they're glamoured into another form.
