Ad Astra per Aspera (Roleplay) is a Discord-based roleplay that follows the story of 18 magical girls (also known as Singularities) from different universes who find themselves transported to a new world known as the Eschaton.

Within this unfamiliar world, the Singularities find themselves confined within a castle, compelled to partake in a deadly tournament orchestrated by a powerful being known as 'Boss.' The tournament is overseen by two archmages, Lukas and Akemi, who act as hosts. The goal is to engage in arranged battles within a colosseum and emerge as the sole victor, proving their strength to Boss, who seeks their aid in preventing the collapse of their respective universes.

However, the tournament carries an additional twist—a Singularity can also commit murders outside the colosseum. Upon the discovery of a body, a trial ensues to expose the murderer. Failing to identify the culprit results in an automatic victory for the murderer, granting them control over the Eschaton. Conversely, a successful trial eliminates the murderer from the competition.

While most deaths in the colosseum are temporary, eliminating a Singularity from the tournament holds dire consequences for their entire universe, leading to its demise.

The roleplay began on 04/23/2023 and is currently ongoing, with the story currently in Chapter 3.

  • And Your Reward Is Edible: Singularities that win in colosseum battles receive a cake.
  • Anyone Can Die: Anyone can and probably will die, especially in a deadly tournament.
  • Back from the Dead & Death Is Cheap: Most deaths in the Colosseum are not permanent.: As stated in the rules of the grimoire that each Singularity receives, most deaths are not permanent in the colosseum. Every singularity that has been killed in a colosseum battle has been resurrected. Even one of the archmages was resurrected as a demonstration!
  • Battle Royale Game: The Eschaton is like a battle royale, with participants fighting to the death until only one remains.
  • Came Back Strong: If a singularity wins against the loser in the colosseum, then they gain a reward instead, and sometimes that reward can be more power.
  • Came Back Wrong: If a singularity dies in the colosseum, they are punished and do not return the same as they used to.
  • Closed Circle: The singularities are trapped within the Eschaton and are unable to leave until it is finished, that is, everyone dies but the victor.
  • Crossover Alternate Universe: All of the singularities have been brought from their own respective universes to a new universe, seemingly created by Boss.
  • Deadly Game: If a singularity is eliminated, they, along with their world, will die.
  • Fair-Play Whodunnit: Every singularity has a fair chance of discovering the murder during trial, and some may even discover the murderer sooner than others.
  • Involuntary Battle to the Death: In Chapter 1, all singularities had to kill one another as the win condition.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: All of the singularities were revealed to be experiencing amnesia specifically targeted to their past memories during their stay in the Eschaton. Revealing that they had not just arrived.
  • Magical Girl: Everyone in this cast is a certified Magical Girl, though with their own worlds. And they don't even have to be necessarily a girl to be one.
  • Only Smart People May Pass: In the prologue, all of the singularities had to solve a past murder to prove themselves worthy and smart enough to be able to progress, like a tutorial, otherwise they would have all been killed.
  • Place Beyond Time: The Eschaton appears to have no time, and no weather.
  • The Mole: One of the singularities that are to participate in the colosseum is the third archmage. According to Akemi, they agreed to work with them in exchange for being given benefits in the tournament and their identity private. What those benefits are remain a mystery.
  • The Multiverse: It's a thing.
  • Tournament Arc & Inevitable Tournament: All singularities are forced to participate in a tournament. Only one victor.

     Prologue - Recap

Our tale begins in the Colosseum, wherein the Singularities were called by Akemi Akahoshi and Lukas Aefan — two of the three Archmages running the tournament. Akemi is a witch with precognition, and Lukas is some sort of healer.

These things happen and-or are explained, in this order:

  • 1. The Singularities were brought here by fate. They will be unable to leave until the Eschaton is done and a victor is crowned.

  • 2. A victor is crowned when everyone else is eliminated. An 'elimination' is dying permanently. (Which can happen if you give up/fuck up in the Colosseum, where you'll be fighting to the usually-impermanent death. This is presumably to gauge mental and physical strength.)

  • 3. If you are eliminated, your universe is destroyed as well! Not immediately, they claim. But it will basically be marked for death.

  • 4. If the prospect of all of that fighting in the Colosseum is really scary, don't worry. You can win immediately by just killing someone outside of the Colosseum. Deaths outside of the Colosseum are permanent. To prevent meaningless slaughter, there's even a nifty, very original trial system they came up with outlined in the rules.

  • 5. And most importantly... as you do all of this, you need to make friends with each other! They are going to try to make this as NOT stressful as possible so you all become friends! They were quite insistent on this point. Despair is seemingly banned.

  • 6. If you want to win without killing someone, you need to mentally and physically outlast everyone else. Which sounds easy, but who can really endlessly fight in a Colosseum forever, even if you do keep getting revived?

Meanwhile, as this is going on, Masami tries to kill Aziel, Mishima learns what gay people are, Astaroth tries to steal medical equipment, and Yala turns into a stick.

Our tale continues in the great hall, where Akemi and Lukas once again called the Singularities. These things occured:

  • Akemi said that the Colosseum pairings are decided. First battle is to the death. If you lose, you will lose a part of yourself; if you win, you will gain something. This is not ominous or explained at all.

  • Akemi then said that, to practice the new Justice System implemented (fancy words for the murder/trial/etc system), the cast would undergo Orientation.

  • To introduce this orientation, Lukas is thrown underneath a chandelier and dies from it falling on him.

  • Not really! Lukas is back, having been the prologue death: he was just injured really badly, and heals himself with magic. By doing this, somehow, the pair has summoned in an entirely separate corpse. It's a blonde woman with round glasses, a labcoat, and futuristic-looking guns. She looks almost like a hologram that's been glitching in and out of the world.

  • Akemi explains this is a murder that happened in the past, and that by killing Lukas she has, somehow, tricked the place into thinking the murder is occuring again: thus the circumstances surrounding it (ie evidence/truth bullets) will "materialize" as well. (Once moderators are ready for that bit.)

  • Hence your orientation! It's time for a Practice Orientation Singularity Trial! Simple and easy!!

The gang gets together and puts all of their brain cells to use in order to figure out the truth behind the death of the late former-Archmage. In doing so, they're able to plot out the following:

  • A magical, remote control bomb was attached to the chandelier. This bomb was activated by the remote in order to drop it onto the victim.

  • The great hall is only visible from a few, specific angles throughout the building. Among these locations are the library, the dining hall, the cabinet, the edge of the marketplace, and crucially — the astrolab.

  • The astrolab is only able to be used because of the lighting of a candle, illuminating the window of the great hall and allowing perfect sight through the telescope, which had been modified to view the hall from its perch inside of the astrolab.

  • Using the alibi information, there were only a few select Akemis which would have been capable of activating the remote without gaining the attention of those around them.

  • And therefore, the killer is the 30th Akemi — the one behind the telescope in the astrolab.

They correctly deliver their answer to Lukas, and celebrations ensue! But not for long, because... Gasp...

An ominous voice emerges on the scene, invading everyone's brains and forcing them to participate in a scuffed game of 20 questions.

  • 1. Why was this murder chosen as orientation? Answer: Because one of us did it.

  • 2. How is that possible? Answer: Because we were all here before.

  • 3. What's the proof? Answer: The notes in the Grimoire.

  • 4. So who murdered the Archmage? Answer: One of you — yet to be seen.

The voice is then interrupted by Boss, who apologizes for failing to intervene sooner. The group is left with a number of questions that they cannot quite yet answer...

     Chapter 1 - Colosseum Recap

VICTORY CONDITION:

One Singularity is dead.

OTHER CONDITIONS:

Revival possible. Allowed to bring Familiars in.

Masami v. Umyiko

  • Winner: Wannabe Grim Reaper Masami Shiraishi

The Colosseum has transformed into a dense forest, restricting movement but offering navigational opportunities through cracks in the branches. Masami embraces the environment, transforming into her empowered form with the power of the Great Tav, Arbiter of Death. While Umyiko harnesses her abilities as a water witch and too, transforms. Umyiko is alerted by Masami's transformation and shoots her, Masami dodges but it causes significant damage to her rib. Masami swiftly maneuvers through the trees, distancing herself from Umyiko. Despite being grazed by Umyiko's gunshot, she maintains her focus and advances towards her opponent. Umyiko launches water blades and a barrage of bullets, but Masami skillfully dodges them.

As the battle intensifies, Masami summons steel-tipped feathers and descends upon Umyiko. Although she manages to wound Masami, Umyiko becomes momentarily preoccupied by the feathers lodged in her. In the midst of the battle, a swarm of giant radioactive insects approaches. Realizing she needs more power, Masami drains life from the surroundings, withering the plants. Taking advantage of the distraction, she charges at Umyiko with her scythe, nearly severing her arm. Umyiko teleports away, but Masami pursues her, making Umyiko use the water from Masami's wounds to pierce into her eyes and blind her.

Blinded but undeterred, Masami impales her scythe into Umyiko's chest, bringing her to her knees. Covered in blood and feathers, Masami fulfills her role as a reaper, ultimately severing Umyiko in two. As Umyiko hallucinates the presence of her deceased friends, Masami emerges as the victor. The presence of cockroaches overwhelms Masami before a flash of white light transports both fighters away.

Rowan v. Eva

  • Winner: Rowan Evans, Aurelia's Doormat

Set in a transformed cityscape Colosseum, both emotionally affected fighters confront each other. Rowan tries to engage in light conversation, but Eva demands that he use all his weapons and abilities. Rowan undergoes a transformation and prepares for the fight. Eva strikes first with her sword, but Rowan evades and braces himself. She follows up with a kick that momentarily incapacitates Rowan, but he retaliates by creating a disturbing sensation on Eva's shoulder. Taking advantage of her momentary vulnerability, Rowan kicks away Eva's sword and positions himself between her and the weapon.

Eva realizes Rowan's reluctance to go all out and challenges him to attack. However, Rowan hesitates, and Eva accuses him of underestimating her. She retrieves her sword and vows not to hold back, determined to prove herself. Despite their emotional struggles, they engage in combat. Rowan fires a warning shot, but Eva remains undeterred. She urges Rowan to show his true power, and he responds by shooting her in the chest. Surprisingly, Eva refuses to surrender, rising to her feet and continuing the fight.

Eva's determination grows as she counts down, while Rowan evades her attacks, albeit with a hit to his ribs. The fight escalates as Eva's strength wanes, and Eir's countdown nears its end. With the final moments approaching, Eva prepares for her last move, aiming for a final slash at Rowan's forehead. Rowan, driven by fear and adrenaline, evades the attack and retaliates. Ultimately, Rowan shoots Eva at close range, delivering a fatal blow. However, Eva still manages to injure Rowan in the process. Eva's determination remains evident even in her near-lifeless state. Eventually, she succumbs to death as her eyes fade. Rowan, burdened by self-doubt and physical pain, finds solace in the presence of Aurelia. They are both transported back home under the moonlight, with Rowan emerging as the winner of the fight.

Mishima v. Altair

  • Winner: Altair of Uruk, Spire-Slaying Free-Flier

In this fight, the Colosseum has transformed into a wasteland filled with ash and debris.

Altair and Mishima exchange words as they prepare to battle. Altair is confident and observant, while Mishima appears playful and comfortable in the environment. Altair questions Mishima's enjoyment of the fight and asks if he has a plan to escape. Mishima sees the fight as an opportunity to teach Altair a lesson and suggests prolonging a stalemate. Altair transforms and generates wings, ready to engage in combat. Mishima, in turn, bursts into flames and dons a military uniform adorned with countless eyes. Altair takes to the air, finding a higher ground to assess Mishima's movements. Mishima summons his familiar, Mercury, and playfully urges Altair to make the first move.

Altair takes advantage of Mishima's true sight and attempts to blind him with a gust of wind and dust. However, Mishima easily clears his vision and taunts Altair, revealing the true power of his true sight. Altair's attempt fails, and Mishima retaliates by creating a swell of dust using his whip. Altair quickly takes to the skies to avoid the dust, but some particles still irritate his eyes. Altair readies his bow and releases an arrow charged with crackling energy towards Mishima. However, Mishima effortlessly tracks the arrow's trajectory and uses his whip to divert it off course. Mishima then aims to hook Altair's wing with his other whip to destabilize him and bring him closer. In the process, the arrow's shockwave explodes near Mishima, causing pain and sending him off to the side. Additionally, Mishima manages to hook Altair's lower leg, causing equal destabilization and inflicting some pain. The battle intensifies as both fighters exchange moves and counter-moves.

Altair's dive and attempted melee trick are disrupted by Mishima's clever maneuver. Mishima ties his whips into a knot and pulls it taut, launching it towards Altair. The knot strikes Altair's wounded leg, throwing him off balance and interfering with his intended attack. However, Altair manages to maintain contact with Mishima despite the setback. Altair tries to stabilize himself while grappling with Mishima, his hands emitting a numbing sensation intended to paralyze his opponent. Both fighters struggle to regain control as they tumble and kick up dust in their collision. Altair, although wounded, remains determined and focused on executing his plan.

Altair and Mishima find themselves entangled within a pile of debris, with Altair pinning Mishima down. Mishima taunts Altair, claiming to have more powerful allies on his side. Altair, despite feeling the effects of the electric shock, retaliates and manages to disable Mishima temporarily. However, Mishima calls upon Mercury to intervene.

Mercury approaches Altair, and a chilling presence fills the air. Altair's shooting arm suddenly feels heavy and sluggish, while his other arm becomes wild and uncontrollable. Mercury explains the different manifestations of madness, and Mishima revels in the chaos, laughing joyfully.

Mercury places a paw on Altair's heart, and Altair feels a flood of alien emotions. He is torn between feelings of love and the desire to kill Mishima. The boundaries between Altair and Mishima blur, and Altair sees a different side to Mishima, one that appears precious and lovely. Mercury emphasizes that madness is love.

Altair is overwhelmed by the presence of the god and the conflicting emotions within him. He drops his bow and struggles to control his own actions, his nails digging into his flesh. Despite the gravity of the situation, Altair's gaze softens as he acknowledges the path they were both on, seeking an alternative to this outcome.

In the midst of their immobilized state, Mercury observes the situation with amusement. Mishima tries to enlist Mercury's help, but the Basset Hound refuses. Mishima questions why Mercury won't assist him, and Mercury explains that he has never healed Mishima's wounds before, implying that Mishima has never truly been hurt.

Mercury suggests waiting for the announcers and the Archmages to take a break, joking about having a beach holiday. Akemi, one of the archmages, tell Altair and Mishima to hurry it up. Mishima, determined to break the stalemate, requests Mercury's assistance again. Mercury, however, points out that Mishima needed his help to reach this point, unlike Altair.

Mercury places a paw on Altair's shoulder, freeing him from the immobilizing effects. Mishima's confident expression falters, and Altair directs his hatred toward Mercury. Altair releases his anger and refocuses on Mishima, asking him why he fights to save humanity.

Mishima's demeanor changes, and he looks conflicted as Mercury chastises him for befriending their enemies and straying from their promise. Mercury warns Mishima that his friends will abandon him when the time comes and emphasizes his unwavering loyalty. Mishima's resolve wavers, but he defends his fight to save humanity, expressing his disgust for the ignorant and self-destructive behavior of humanity.

With a snarl and a wide smile, Mishima declares that he saves humanity because without him, they would all perish in a day. He sees humanity as useless and ignorant, in need of his intervention to survive.

Altair confronts Mishima about fighting for the whims of a god and accuses him of letting it control him. Altair expresses disappointment and tells Mishima to find his own path instead of relying on faith or prayers. Altair then materializes his bow and prepares to deliver a final blow.

Mishima pleads with Mercury for help, reminding the dog of their promise to rule the world together. However, Mercury remains unmoved and lectures Mishima about his disobedience and his misguided friendships with other Singularities, including Aziel. Mishima's attempts to crawl towards Mercury prove futile, and he collapses against the rubble.

Altair takes aim at Mishima, launching three electrified arrows at him. Mishima's heart jolts, and he experiences pain and discomfort before a sense of nothingness takes over. He sees stars and has fleeting visions before his mind becomes clouded and he succumbs to death.

Altair observes the lifeless Mishima with a somber expression and then collapses himself, leaning against a stone. Icarus, the true owner of the wings, approaches Altair, and the moon shines brightly in the nighttime sky. The scene concludes with a fading white light, and both Altair and Mishima are gone.

The win condition is fulfilled, and the winner is declared as Altair of Uruk, the Spire-Slaying Free-Flier.

Pegasus v. Ichika

  • Winner: Pegasus (and Bellorophon)

In the transformed Colosseum, Ichika Aida and Pegasus face off in a battle. Ichika, with her serene demeanor and white wings, expresses her reluctance to fight and extends a handshake to Pegasus. Pegasus, sporting a confident smile, accepts the handshake and suggests a one-on-one battle. As the fight begins, Ichika launches a barrage of energy arrows while Pegasus showcases his agility, dodging most of them but sustaining minor injuries. Pegasus then unveils his fiery transformation and lands a powerful blow on Ichika, sending her crashing to the ground. Despite her gruesome injuries, Ichika rises and undergoes a transformation, returning unharmed.

Pegasus is amazed by her resilience and eagerly asks for her secrets. Ichika declines to reveal them but continues the fight. She launches arrows with increasing power, and Pegasus struggles to evade them due to his injuries. Ichika's determination and stamina impress Pegasus, who jokes about taking a break before realizing Ichika has already launched arrows at him. Pegasus finds himself at a disadvantage and wonders how to defeat Ichika's relentless barrage. Ichika acknowledges the need to wear down Pegasus and continues firing arrows. Pegasus taunts her, questioning her courage and determination.

Pegasus showcases his incredible speed and agility once more, effortlessly evading Ichika's arrows. He aims to defeat her in a single hit, but Ichika continues to challenge him with her arrows. Pegasus confidently dodges each arrow with playful gestures. He explains that his flashy moves serve to build up excitement and power. Impressed, Ichika acknowledges the risks involved but is fascinated by Pegasus's abilities. Forming a new arrow with pink energy, she releases it towards Pegasus, who prepares to counter it. The collision creates a powerful struggle and tears through the plains. Pegasus redirects the explosion towards a descending meteor, posing a threat to Ichika. In the stalemate, the meteor hits Ichika directly, obliterating her. Pegasus, unfazed, confronts Bellorophon, who emerges transformed from the crater. Pegasus reveals his gamble and prepares for their next move, asserting his unbeatable record. They strike a pose together as champions.

The bright sun engulfs the arena, and both Pegasus and Ichika vanish. Pegasus is declared the winner along with his gorilla familiar, Bellorophon.

Huapixu v. Nox

  • Winner: Huapixu, The Divinely Radiant Dawn.

In a transformed forest clearing within the Colosseum, Huapixu and Nox prepare for battle. The fight begins with Huapixu launching herself from treetops, aiming to strike Nox, but Nox creates a concrete wall to defend herself. Huapixu vaults over the wall and faces Nox, despite her injured legs from the falling rubble.

Huapixu unleashes a powerful beam of light, causing Nox to sustain burns and temporarily hampering her vision. Nox retaliates by creating a towering structure with treacherous obstacles, forcing Huapixu to climb. Despite the pain, Huapixu perseveres and reaches the top, only to face Nox, who prepares to use a cannon to attack. Huapixu's sunbeam clashes with the cannonball, resulting in an explosion.

As the battle intensifies, Huapixu and Nox confront each other on a pitch-black platform high above the ground. Nox surprises Huapixu with a change in demeanor, apologizing for ruining her costume and expressing admiration for her strength. Nox proposes an alliance to confront their common enemy, revealing her doubts about killing people from other worlds. Huapixu initially questions the proposal but eventually strikes Nox with a light beam to her eyes and brain, destroying them and leading to her demise.

Nox's lifeless body falls to the ground, leaving Bouldie, her familiar, crying and feeling powerless. Huapixu escapes the crumbling arena, witnessing the collapse of the tower. The Sun shines down, marking Huapixu, The Divinely Radiant Dawn, as the winner, and the arena fades away.

Petunia v. Sirius

  • Winner: Ex Stellis Sirius

In the fight between Black Petunia and Sirius, the battle takes place in a transformed beach setting with abandoned buildings and a beautiful sunset. Petunia takes the initiative, using his dark powers to create a web of shadows to ensnare Sirius. However, she counters by flying higher and using her satellite weapon to manipulate gravity, slowing down Petunia's movements. Despite being partially restrained by the shadow web, Sirius manages to release an attack that disperses the shadows and buys her some time.

Petunia creates a decoy of himself and uses teleportation to vanish and reappear inside a building. The decoy attacks Sirius, but she evades and focuses on dealing with it. They engage in a battle of projectiles and dodging, with Sirius attempting to destroy the decoy.

Sirius breaks free from the shadows and flies higher, but Petunia embraces his transformation with Midnight's power. He charges towards Sirius, creating a distorted figure composed of shadows and dark matter. Despite her speed, Petunia manages to impale Sirius with his sword, causing a devastating blow. Sirius, however, taps into a greater cosmic presence and unleashes a powerful attack, overwhelming Petunia. Despite his attempts to defend, the attack pierces through him, causing a massive explosion.

Petunia is left gravely injured, and his consciousness fades as he reflects on his weaknesses and bids farewell to his loyal companion, Midnight. Meanwhile, Sirius is on the verge of collapse but is caught by her familiar before falling. The battle ends, and both Black Petunia and Sirius are whisked away in a beam of light, marking the victory for Ex Stellis Sirius.

7MB2 v. Valtteri

  • Winner: Living Weapon 7MB2-GEN 2-0-15

In the fight between 7MB2 and Valtteri, the battle takes place in a transformed wrestling ring. Valtteri enters the ring with determination, while 7MB2 maintains a carefree attitude. 7MB2 undergoes a transformation, gaining an ethereal appearance and new powers. Both fighters demonstrate their agility and use their familiars' abilities in a fast-paced exchange of attacks and evasions. Valtteri sustains some hits but remains resilient. He eventually decides to transform, gaining enhanced abilities and speed. 7MB2 counters his attacks with her own barrage of magic projectiles. Valtteri teleports to evade the projectiles but still takes some hits. 7MB2 forms a vortex and aims a windy spear at Valtteri, who retaliates with light-arrows from a light-bow. 7MB2 creates a shield to protect herself but sustains some injuries.

They engage in melee combat, with Valtteri using a whip and 7MB2 countering with her magical abilities. Despite sustaining burns and wounds, both fighters display resilience. 7MB2 summons the power of Uranus, unleashing destructive winds and summoning a whirlwind dragon. Valtteri struggles against the winds but refuses to show weakness. The dragon prepares to strike, and Valtteri braces himself for the impact. The dragon collides with the ground, causing a violent tempest and battering Valtteri's body.

7MB2 surveys the aftermath of the battle, astonished by her own survival. Valtteri lies mangled and covered in blood, questioning the fairness of the fight. Despite his injuries, Valtteri refuses to give up and reenters the ring, embodying the spirit of The Ruthless. He ignites his axe with a pink flame and launches a relentless barrage of attacks, slashing at 7MB2 with intense fury. 7MB2 tries to anticipate and deflect his strikes, using her agility and magic. However, Valtteri's final move catches her off guard, as he teleports behind her and inflicts a painful blow. Despite the pain, 7MB2 fights back, attempting to harm Valtteri from within by rupturing his eardrums. In a moment of exhaustion, she contemplates her purpose but pushes those thoughts aside. She creates a vacuum around Valtteri's head to crush it with air pressure, while Valtteri continues to bite and tear into her flesh. However, his attack is interrupted by the pain from 7MB2's magical assault, causing him to falter.

Valtteri falls to his knees and, refusing to be killed by 7MB2, drives his own battle axe into his ribcage. As they both face imminent death, a powerful gust of wind intensifies, and Valtteri pierces his exposed ribcage, choosing his own end. 7MB2 slumps beside him, overwhelmed by her victory. Valtteri's familiar, Wisp, expresses despair and laments her perceived failure to protect him. Both 7MB2 and Valtteri, along with their familiars, disappear in a flash of light, and 7MB2 is declared the winner.

Aziel v. Rin

  • Winner: Rin, the Literal Loose Cannon.

In a lunarpunk space station transformed into a Colosseum, Aziel and Rin engage in a fierce battle. Rin focuses on concealment and strategically positions himself closer to the center of the warehouse, while Aziel, now known as Starmaker in his transformed state, enters the arena radiating confidence and wielding a yellow katana. Rin initiates the fight by throwing a flashbang, which temporarily blinds Aziel. However, Aziel's swift reflexes and defensive maneuvers mitigate the impact. The battle continues with Rin planting explosives for a strategic advantage, but Aziel retaliates, severing Rin's arm and causing a massive explosion that alters the battlefield. Both fighters are injured but continue the fight.

Rin, despite the pain, seeks high ground and maneuvers swiftly, relying on his dexterity and perception. Aziel regains his composure and uses his magical abilities to gain the upper hand. Rin deploys smoke grenades to create cover, while Aziel adapts and changes tactics, hovering in the air and attacking with a gun. Rin evades the gunfire, and the crumbling warehouse adds to the chaos. Rin prepares for a devastating move and unleashes an explosion, knocking Aziel to the ground and causing further destruction.

As the battle intensifies, Aziel taps into a new power, unleashing beams of light to obliterate everything. Rin manages to avoid the blasts and strives to extinguish the star. Rin survives the onslaught, but Aziel's own attack leads to his demise, crushed under falling debris. Rin approaches the defeated Starmaker, reflecting on the fight and tending to his injuries. The warehouse continues to collapse, and Aziel's body is ultimately crushed under the rubble. Rin is transported away, declared the winner of the fight as a Literal Loose Cannon.

Yala v. Magistrate

  • Winner: Yala, the Transforming Terror.

In the intense battle between Yala and The Northern Magistrate, they fight in a transformed Colosseum that has turned into a flower forest. Yala, propelled like a glowing missile, aims to strike the Magistrate while the ground rumbles and lava pools emerge, setting everything ablaze. The Magistrate uses wind magic to evade Yala's attack and takes cover on a branch. Yala hides amidst smoke and ash, leaving behind a bubbling mound of lava. The Magistrate blindly fires her gun in an attempt to locate Yala.

Yala emerges from the ground as a molten meteor, inflicting pain on the Magistrate with her powerful dash. Yala retaliates by firing superheated rocks at the Magistrate, prioritizing scale over accuracy. Yala then dives back into the molten ground. The Magistrate realizes bullets alone won't be enough and prepares to strategize. She climbs flower petals to gain higher ground, while Yala creates lava globs in the shape of herself, ready for combat.

The Magistrate's fiery clones overpower Yala's lava blobs, but the volcanic terrain becomes increasingly dangerous. Yala and the Magistrate engage in a chaotic battle, with Yala's clones rapidly approaching the Magistrate. Realizing her disadvantage, the Magistrate makes a bold move by unleashing unstable energy and launching herself at Yala with an explosive punch.

The arena is consumed by flames and molten lava, and Yala's all-or-nothing attack succeeds, disintegrating the Magistrate with the Doki Doki Beam, her last words being "... one... piece of... real...". Yala undergoes a transformation and floats above the ground before being transported away by powerful magic. Yala is declared the winner as the Transforming Terror, the arena fades away.

  • Lukas is seen untransformed. He's an angry brunette with an abrasive personality: quite the contrast to the overly-cheerful man you remember.
  • Akemi is seen untransformed. She has blonde hair, a fish hairclip, and is slightly more peppy. Not a total dichotomy, but it's there, hehe.
  • Nyaka is forced to make more riddles. She enlists the power of sudoku to do this.
  • Astaroth physically beats Umyiko for her loss in a very uncomfortable (but well written) scene.
  • Rowan finally gets Maggie to translate the dead Archmage's grimoire from the practice trial. The translations look something like this:

If you are to trust Maggie, this is the dead archmage's opinions on everyone in the cast and five unnamed Singularities.

After this hubbub, fragments began to appear outside of the foyer! They seem to be little pockets of each of the cast member's worlds. Yes, literally your world. These are the ones that have appeared so far:

  • 1. Ichika's world. She met up with her sister there and caught up.
  • 2. Altair's world. Everyone universally hates it...
  • 3. Maggie's world, where she got to go toe-to-toe with her old rival, Corinna. While there, it was revealed that her real name is Eva Eichinger, presumably the same Eichinger mentioned in a piece of evidence in the trial and in the dead archmage's notes.
  • 4. Huapixu's world! People are still showing up and exploring that one.
  • 5. Rowan's world. Aziel and Rowan have gone there. Aziel discusses about him falling in love to Rowan, expressing his angst. While Rowan have a heart-to-heart with Chloe, a co-worker and his best friend from his home.

Other important events that have happened include Masami getting shot, Nox trying to convince Lukas to teach her how to build a healing spring in the marketplace, Nox also being another person who doesn't know who gay people are, Petunia getting a chicken, Rowan talking to his not-girlfriend, and Wisp shipping Valtteri and Eva.

Instead of the sixth world appearing, it seems like the gang is running into technical difficulties. The portal to it, located in the marketplace, has been blocked off by Akemi and Boss. Meanwhile, a bunch of orbs of light have been appearing throughout the castle, that when you touch them, you see a vision — apparently through the eyes of Akemi Akahoshi.

Speaking of, she looks to be unconcious in the marketplace, near Nyaka's stall. At least, that's what you think — further investigation has revealed that there is no life behind her eyes, and she is seemingly dead.

After the end of the investigation period, Lukas summons you all to the Marketplace to venture into the last fragment. Once he undoes the seal and you all enter, you're brought to The Castella Galaxia, a floating castle island that is part of Aziel's world.

There, you face the corrupted version of Akemi Akahoshi in the form of a gigantic four-headed sea serpent. It splits the fight into 3 fronts by using its massive tail to split the earth — one head on the east, one head on the west, and two heads on the smaller islands in the crater below.

The east head is subdued via talking, and the west head is subdued via massive explosion that renders Rin nearly deceased. The two heads on the smaller islands... Well, that remains to be determined.

After the fight, you are all dragged into a vision of the future created by Akemi Akahoshi herself. She appears before you in a spectral form, and you all use the visions you saw in the Colosseum to unlock the truth behind her Corruption.

The following truths are revealed:

  • Akemi's Corruption is due to astral projecting into a bad end future.
  • Within this bad end future, Black Petunia becomes fully corrupted and kills everyone in the new Eschaton.
  • The previous Eschaton was peaceful, where the end goal was to collaboratively create a new world and destroy corruption.

Following this, Akemi destroys the vision... And herself, nearly taking The Northern Magistrate down with her. The cast is deposited back in The Castella Galaxia and is freed to do whatever they please.

     Chapter 2 - Colosseum Recap

VICTORY CONDITION:

One Singularity is dead OR both Singularities conclude victory negotiations.

OTHER CONDITIONS:

Revival possible. Allowed to bring Familiars in. Negotiations must be completed peacefully. Failure to do so results in nullification of the alternative victory condition.

Umyiko v. Nox

  • Winner: Bisected Beauty Umyiko Seabird

The fight takes place in a living, ominous field, where Umyiko, accompanied by the demon prince Astaroth, faces off against Nox, the Architect. Astaroth pressures Umyiko to fight, while Nox initially seeks a peaceful resolution.

The battle escalates as Astaroth violently breaks Umyiko's wrist and forces her to shoot at Nox. Nox retaliates by creating a fortified arena, trapping Astaroth inside. Umyiko and Nox teleport to the upper floor of the Colosseum, where Astaroth reveals a new form and attacks both with magic.

Astaroth targets Nox's rock familiar, Bouldie, and places a psychic force on Umyiko, causing her pain. Nox's desperation leads her to jump down and charge at Astaroth, leading to a brutal grapple on a fluid bridge above a lake of liquid concrete.

Both inflict severe injuries on each other, with Nox eventually biting off one of Astaroth's wings. Astaroth attempts to use Bouldie as a weapon, but Nox catches him and catapults him to safety. She continues to fight Astaroth, tearing off another wing, but is left exhausted and unable to move.

Umyiko, struggling with Astaroth's magic, finally grabs her rifle and shoots Nox in the head, killing her instantly. Astaroth is left stunned, while Umyiko confronts him and leaves the arena.

Reflecting on her actions, Umyiko sees her decision as a mercy to end Nox's suffering and a way to reclaim power from Astaroth. The fight ends with Umyiko declared the winner, and all participants disappearing in a flash of light.

7MB2 v. Ichika

  • Winner: Ichika Aida, Streamer Extraordinaire

The Colosseum has turned into a gas station in rural California. Inside, there is a man engrossed in playing Candy Crush and ignoring any disturbances.

Both Ichika and 7MB2 have already made their peace beforehand. Ichika and 7MB2 arrives at the gas station and discuss their successful peace treaty and snacks. 7MB2 is confident in her decision while Ichika double-checks. They agree, and Ichika promises to take care of 7MB2. They announce their decision not to fight, the gas station guy yells 'SURE!' at them without actually listening.

Boss/Alfonso's voice echoes in the arena, acknowledging the absence of combat and expressing satisfaction. They didn't predict a peaceful resolution. However, before discussing rewards and punishments, their voice abruptly falls silent. A mysterious voice interrupts, echoing in the mind and silencing the announcer's box. Ichika and 7MB2 hear the voice in their heads. They engage with the voice, expressing confusion and willingness to help. The voice introduces himself as The Champion and asks if they wish to escape the death matches and the threat of Alfonso. Ichika and 7MB2 express their desire to escape and return home. The Champion mentions a way to go back but gets interrupted by glitches and the gas station guy. They are instructed to listen but the message gets cut off.

Then a strange, glitching blob appears, and the Champion's voice becomes faint. 7MB2 asks for instructions, but the blob starts shooting magical needles. Ichika, in the midst of transformation, tries to react and protect herself. Ichika manages to dodge with her transformation, while 7MB2 uses a shield to protect herself, getting only a minor scratch. The Champion asks for their assistance in subduing the growing blob. 7MB2 undergoes a powerful transformation, wielding a bazooka, while Ichika unleashes a magic-infused arrow at the creature. They coordinate their attacks and remain focused on defeating the enemy, determined to finish the battle in time for snacks.

The girls realize that co-oping against the blob is challenging as it threatens the gas station and their ability to communicate about going home. They unleash volleys of magic, but their different magic types seem to oppose the blob's. 7MB2's bazooka blast tears through the blob, while Ichika's arrow pins down one half. However, the blob retaliates with an electrical shockwave, hitting Ichika but not slowing her down. 7MB2 creates a protective shield but is partially affected by the shockwave. The combined effort of Ichika's arrow and 7MB2's drill obliterates one half of the blob. They check on each other's well-being and notice the car that was hit. Ichika launches another volley of arrows at the remaining half of the blob, determined not to give it time to regenerate.

Ichika warns 7MB2 to watch out as the blob releases a blast of energy aimed at Ichika. Ichika focuses on dodging the attack, while 7MB2 is distracted by the car and attempts to dodge as well. Ichika successfully avoids the blast, but the reaction between the magical energies causes a massive explosion. 7MB2 gets caught in the blast and is badly injured, flying into the side of the gas station. The cashier and the voice express surprise and concern. The blast also damages the outside part of the gas station.

7MB2 experiences a haunting and traumatic memory. She hears a disembodied voice telling her she will never be happy again. As her body lies motionless on the ground, a dark force takes over and revives her, with multiple hands with blue strings from the fingers attaching to her body, rising her up. 7MB2 feels confused and tries to regain her composure in the midst of chaos.

Ichika and 7MB2 prepare to confront the remaining half of the blob. 7MB2 expresses her determination to get revenge on it, while Ichika shows concern but agrees to continue. They both ready their magical attacks, forming an arrow and wielding a staff respectively. They share a nod and count down together, ready to unleash their combined assault on the enemy.

Ichika and 7MB2 unleash their powerful attacks, successfully obliterating the remaining half of the blob. The explosion creates a magical reaction and restores the connection of The Champion. They celebrate their victory with cheers and applause, feeling a sense of accomplishment. However, they quickly realize the cashier's car has been destroyed and reassure him that they weren't responsible. They reach out to Champion, hoping to receive another round of applause for their successful battle.

The Champion comes back and reveals that he is locked away for mutiny and can help them escape from Alfonso. The plan is to free the Champion first, but his exact location is still unknown. The Champion hints that he is located underneath the Eschaton on the bottom floor. However, before he can provide further details, the communication abruptly cuts off.

Alfonso's booming voice returns, claiming to have reclaimed their minds from the presence that was speaking to them earlier. They advise the duo to disregard the false promises and warns of The Champion being dangerous. When questioned about keeping The Champion imprisoned, Alfonso explains it is a temporary solution for the duration of the Eschaton. The details of The Champion's crimes are left to the Archmages to reveal. Alfonso refuses to divulge more information, citing the vulnerability of their minds. Ichika and 7MB2 contemplate seeking answers from Lukas instead. Alfonso concludes their conversation, mentioning that their role has concluded and their rewards and losses will be delivered soon. They are asked if they have any further questions.

Ichika stands up for 7MB2, questioning Alfonso about the need for punishment and the balance they speak of. She challenges the notion that winners and losers must exist in the Eschaton and suggests canceling the contest altogether. 7MB2 joins in, questioning the purpose of fighting and suffering for the greater good. However, Alfonso remains firm in their stance. 7MB2 declares that they both won, defying Alfonso's expectations.

In response, Alfonso takes them both away by white light, and declares Ichika, Streamer Extraordinaire as the winner due to their previous peace treaty before the fight.

  • Shorter Summary: In the gas station transformed arena, Ichika and 7MB2 initially seek a peaceful resolution but encounter a pulsating blob and the mysterious voice of "The Champion." Their attacks have little effect on the blob, and they suffer injuries. Working together, they defeat the blob and celebrate their victory. The Champion offers to help them escape and destroy the Eschaton, but Alfonso interrupts, warning against trusting the Champion. Alfonso refuses to provide details about the Champion's crimes, and the conversation ends with Alfonso stating their role is over. Ichika confronts Alfonso about the unfairness of the situation and questions the need for winners and losers. 7MB2 suggests a draw, but Alfonso insists on their previous agreement. They are then enveloped in a bright light, and Ichika is declared the winner.

Altair v. Masami

  • Winner: Maiden of Death Masami Shiraishi

Somewhere in Shibuya, adorned with bright murals and flourishing plants, Masami and Altair stand atop elevated scaffolding from a new greenhouse. The stakes are high: one Singularity must die for the battle to end unless both parties mutually agree on the winner and loser without coercion.

The battle commences with an exchange of philosophical ideas. Masami, who has already consulted her companion Poe, is resolute about killing Altair. Altair, in contrast, surveys the battlefield and talks to Masami about the nuances of fate and choice. A peaceful resolution is discussed but eventually discarded due to their conflicting beliefs and taunts.

Tempers flare, and the duel intensifies. Masami first throws a dagger towards Altair, who narrowly dodges it. Altair reveals a revolver, but it fails to fire, giving Masami time to dash into a greenhouse and conjure black javelins from the life essence of plants. Altair takes to the sky, initiating a tempest filled with thunder and lightning.

The fight then turns vertical as Masami climbs a tall building, dodging a spear of lightning sent by Altair. Meanwhile, their familiars, Poe the raven and Icarus the eagle, engage in an aerial skirmish. Poe drains some of Icarus's life energy, but ultimately Icarus overpowers Poe, sidelining him for the rest of the battle.

Altair lands a magical arrow in Masami's thigh, severely limiting her movement. She retaliates by shooting steel-tipped raven feathers at him, causing moderate injuries. Altair further incapacitates Masami with nerve-shocking arrows, but she manages to embed a life-draining spear into his ribcage. As she approaches him, she launches another spear at his wing. Altair removes the spear lodged in his ribcage to regain some mobility, shedding his wings to dodge Masami's attack.

Altair paralyzes Masami with his magic, keeping his focus sharp as he maintains his distance. In a desperate move, Masami summons an explosive spear aimed at the ground beneath Altair. He dodges it and taunts her, asking if it is her fate to die. In response, Masami releases a dozen nails from her body, one targeted at Altair's face, which he dodges. Altair shoots Masami with the same revolver from before in the chest, gravely injuring but not killing her. He reveals that he tricked her into thinking the gun didn't work earlier

Facing each other at close range, Altair asks Masami once more if it is her fate to die. Accepting her fate, Masami responds affirmatively. But in a shocking turn, Altair chooses to turn the gun on himself, ending his own life.

Badly injured and bleeding, Masami curses Altair before collapsing. Despite the severe toll, she is declared the winner, as she is the last one alive.

  • Shorter Summary: In the transformed Shibuya colosseum, Altair and Masami engage in a battle of fate and freewill. Altair questions Masami's decision to fight and proposes negotiating the result, even agreeing to lose to prove their control over their fate. However, Masami remains determined to fight. The battle begins with exchanged attacks and evasions. They utilize their familiars in combat, and the fight escalates with lightning, arrows, and stolen life force. Altair pretends his gun doesn't work until he reveals its functionality and shoots Masami, leading to her deteriorating condition. Altair contemplates their fate and raises the gun to his own head, claiming his choice as the loser. Another gunshot echoes, and both fighters are whisked away. Masami is declared the winner, but she contemplates the emptiness of her victory as she succumbs to death.

Aziel v. Mishima

  • Winner: The Other Star, Aziel Noxes

Their fight takes place in a transformed labyrinth within the Colosseum. Aziel enters the labyrinth hoping to avoid violence through communication, but Mishima appears with a cold and emotionless gaze. Mishima expresses a desire to win and move on to other things, dismissing the importance of their past friendship.

Aziel confronts Mishima about their actions and expresses disappointment and hurt. Mercury, Mishima's familiar, mocks Aziel and claims to have shown Mishima the truth of Aziel's feelings, implying that Aziel's words were insincere. The atmosphere becomes eerie as Mercury asserts that Aziel deserves punishment. Mishima's resistance wavers, and they plead for Aziel to accept the terms and leave. Aziel refuses, causing Mishima's laughter to become mad. Mishima transforms and embraces chaos, challenging Aziel to fight. The fight begins with Mishima unleashing the power of the Eldritch Eyes, creating a rainstorm of acid and twisted visions. Aziel too transforms into his other persona, Starmaker. He engages in a fierce battle with Mishima. Starmaker endures acid rain and visions, pushing through to pursue Mishima. They exchange taunts and attacks, with Starmaker revealing their growing power and rage. The fight intensifies as Starmaker confronts Mishima's betrayal and unleashes bursts of starlight. They finally locate Mishima and engage in a deadly confrontation, gripping Mishima's neck and demanding their death. The acid rain persists, posing a constant threat.

Mercury observes the confrontation, and Mishima's body weakens as Starmaker's transformation takes hold. Mishima denies being seen as charity and expresses their own depth of feelings and pain. The Eldritch Eyes erupt from Mishima's body, causing them immense pain and distorting their vision. Mishima becomes a walking effigy of Eldritch power. In another plane of existence, Aziel contemplates his control and apathy while in the presence of his sister Lyzia. Lyzia encourages Aziel to calm his inner demon and shape who he truly is. Aziel, however, feels detached and apathetic towards everything. Starmaker's fierce expression wavers, revealing uncertainty and desperation. He confronts Mishima, accusing him of throwing a pity party and expressing his desire for revenge. Starmaker forcefully slams Mishima against a wall, intending to kill him and reaching a corruption level of 75%. As Starmaker raises his sword for another strike, Aziel contemplates the value of eternal numbness and resigns himself to indifference. Starmaker's attack hits Mishima, causing blood to splatter, but Mishima musters the strength to speak through the pain. Mishima's appearance transforms into a grotesque entity, fueled by anger and the power of the Eldritch Eyes.

Mishima confronts Starmaker, attacking him with blasts of Eldritch tears and expressing the pain caused by Starmaker's actions. The Eldritch Eyes extend their influence, blurring the boundaries between Mishima and the world. Mishima accuses Starmaker of throwing him away and attacks him relentlessly. Lyzia, Aziel's sister, urges Aziel not to give in and to take control of his own destiny. Aziel expresses his desire to change and fight back, no longer willing to lose the things he cares about. Aziel's corruption level reaches 0% as he fully awakens within Starmaker, feeling human once again. Aziel is left vulnerable and unfocused, overwhelmed by pain and disorientation. Mishima's fragmented form continues to spawn Eldritch Eyes, creating a grotesque mass of sight. Mishima approaches Aziel, ready to deliver the final blow. Aziel finds himself trapped and unable to move, contemplating his impending death. He speaks softly, expressing his longing for their friendship to return to what it once was and apologizing sincerely. Mishima's heart wavers, and the tendrils stop. Mishima fights against his own destiny and pushes himself forward, determined to reach Aziel and protect him. Mishima climbs the Eldritch spire, sacrificing parts of his own body to reach Aziel. He finally reaches the top and gazes at Aziel, unable to remember his unfinished words. Mishima refuses to let Aziel be harmed and apologizes for not being able to say everything.

The Eldritch rot moves closer to Aziel, but Mishima fights against fate. He leans in and kisses Aziel before tearing himself free from the Eldritch abomination that had taken hold of him. Mishima, now a walking corpse, pushes himself forward to reach Aziel. Mishima's body deteriorates, but he is driven by an indescribable power. He reaches Aziel, cradles his face, and confesses his love. The world trembles, and Mishima's creations dissolve. In a final act, Mishima whispers his apologies, brushes Aziel's hair, and takes Starmaker's sword. He plunges the sword into his own heart, filling the labyrinth with light and crimson. The universe becomes a bloodied ocean, engulfing both Mishima and Aziel. As the mist clears, a peaceful scene replaces the violence. Mishima lies peacefully with one eye open and a gentle smile, having sacrificed himself. Aziel, burdened by his destiny, contemplates his impending demise but is comforted by his sister's presence.

Aziel emerges as the winner, fulfilling the win condition of the fight.

  • Shorter Summary: In the battle between Aziel and Mishima in a transformed Colosseum, the fight begins with Aziel hoping for conversation and reconciliation, but Mishima treats him as an obstacle and rejects friendship. Aziel confronts Mishima about their strained relationship, leading to a tense exchange. Mercury, Mishima's companion, taunts Aziel and manipulates Mishima against him. The battle escalates with Aziel's anger and Mishima's descent into madness. As corruption and chaos take hold, both fighters undergo transformations. They engage in a fierce fight, navigating the labyrinth and enduring tormenting visions. Aziel's corruption rises, but he remains focused on regaining his best friend. Mishima transforms into an Eldritch being, embodying hate and suffering. The fight culminates with Aziel embracing his resolve and confronting Mishima, who encloses them in a prison of Eldritch Eyes. Aziel expresses remorse, leading to Mishima questioning his own intentions. Mishima fights against his possession, realizing his love for Aziel. They share a final moment of love before Mishima sacrifices himself to end the chaos. The aftermath reveals Aziel cradling Mishima's lifeless body, accepting their fate and declaring Aziel the winner.

Pegasus v. Rowan

  • Winner: Dynamic Duo Pegasus & Bellorophon

In the Pegasus and Bellorophon versus Rowan and Aurelia fight, the battle takes place in an empty office building. Pegasus and Bellorophon plan to ambush Rowan and Aurelia but their hiding spot is not ideal, as Bellorophon's size lifts the cubicle off the ground. Rowan and Aurelia enter the office and notice the poor attempt at stealth but decide to play along. Pegasus transforms and feathers drop from underneath the cubicle. Rowan inspects the area, pretending not to see the hiding duo.

At the right moment, Pegasus signals for the attack. A cubicle is launched at Rowan, and Bellorophon appears with Pegasus perched on his bicep. Pegasus taunts Rowan with a flashy entrance, joking about his work shift. Rowan grins and plays along, appreciating the option for a clean fight. Pegasus beckons Rowan to follow them outside the premises. Pegasus suddenly shouts and performs a backflip, revealing Bellorophon charging towards Rowan. Rowan avoids the attack by leaping onto a desk, but the desk makes contact with Bellorophon's fist, causing Rowan to lose his footing. Bellorophon aggressively attacks Rowan, smashing the desk and attempting to slam his other palm on top of him.

Pegasus changes tactics and launches an offensive with Bellorophon. He uses magic to manipulate an office chair and launches it at Rowan. However, Rowan creates an illusion to trick Bellorophon, making it seem like he is hit earlier than he actually is. Rowan quickly moves away, and Aurelia intercepts the flying chair with a kick. Rowan still takes a blow to the hip but is less severely injured due to his magic. Bellorophon appears to squish Rowan with his palm, but it is an illusion. Pegasus continues his offensive by launching office assets at Rowan from different angles. Rowan creates a mana wall to intercept a flying printer, while Aurelia explodes the machine. Rowan shoots towards Pegasus, and Bellorophon charges at Aurelia.

Pegasus kicks a dusty computer and prepares to throw another attack at Rowan. Rowan dodges the computer but is struck in the chest by a monitor. He shoots at Pegasus but misses. Aurelia engages in a grapple with Bellorophon and unleashes a breath of fire, causing damage. Rowan sets up a trap for Pegasus, making him believe he has fallen into it. As Pegasus charges, Rowan unleashes a barrage of bullets. Pegasus dodges them with agility but Rowan's mist disperses Pegasus' special attack. Rowan is punched by a non-magical punch from Pegasus, delivering a strong impact but lacking style.

Pegasus realizes that Rowan had tricked him with illusory bullets, causing him to feel exhausted and stumble. Bellorophon, recovering from Aurelia's flamethrower attack, prepares to retaliate. Aurelia takes advantage of the chaos and shoots a bullet at Pegasus, hitting his shoulder and temporarily disabling his arm. Bellorophon tries to grab Aurelia, but Aurelia transforms into his small chimera form and uses fire-breathing to escape. Rowan contemplates interfering with Pegasus' senses but decides against it. Pegasus narrowly avoids a shot to the head, revealing his scarred face. Pegasus powers up, surrounded by light and feathers.

Bellorophon grabs Aurelia, and Aurelia tries to escape by attacking Bellorophon's hands with fire. Pegasus charges at Rowan, launching small golden diamond-like projectiles called "Yellow Submarines." These projectiles enhance Pegasus' punches and kicks and act as a sensory tool. Aurelia flies above the chaos, keeping his distance. Rowan tries to mitigate the impact of the Yellow Submarines with his mist but finds himself at the receiving end of Pegasus' punches. Rowan attempts to create an earth wall to catch one of Pegasus' punches and counterattack.

Bellorophon continues attacking Aurelia, and Rowan and Aurelia unleash a powerful inferno in an attempt to defeat Pegasus. Pegasus defends himself with his Yellow Submarines, redirecting the flames to the sprinkler system. Both Pegasus and Rowan are left drained and exhausted. Pegasus commends Rowan's abilities and offers him a drink. Rowan accepts and they toast to each other. Pegasus infuses Rowan's pistol with magic and causes the building to collapse with a magic shot.

Pegasus bids farewell to Rowan, and the building crushes Rowan to death. Then the four combatants are enveloped in a white light, signaling the end of the battle. Pegasus and Bellorophon emerge as the winners.

  • Shorter Summary: In the battle between Pegasus and Bellorophon against Rowan and Aurelia in an office building, Pegasus and Bellorophon attempt to ambush their opponents but their hiding spot is compromised. Pegasus signals for the attack, launching a cubicle at Rowan while Bellorophon charges towards him. Rowan avoids the attack and engages in a clean fight with Pegasus and Bellorophon. The battle escalates with office assets being used as weapons, illusions being deployed, and both sides sustaining injuries. Rowan sets a trap for Pegasus, but Aurelia manages to disable Pegasus temporarily. Ultimately, Pegasus and Bellorophon emerge as the winners, with the building collapsing and Rowan meeting a fatal fate.

Yala v. Valtteri

  • Winner: 2000 BC Babe

Both fighters mentally prepare themselves for the battle. Valtteri is feeling unprepared and frustrated, while Yala is confident and taunts Valtteri. Yala undergoes a transformation, changing her appearance to that of a classical wizard. She floats above the ground and expresses her connection to various memories and fragments of other universes. Valtteri, determined to prove himself, also undergoes a transformation, radiating with a radiant glow and briefly showing the outline of wings. Yala commends Valtteri's transformation and invites him to make wonderful memories. Valtteri responds with skepticism and launches projectiles of pink light towards Yala, but she calmly evades them by summoning a stone tower, upon which Nox, a faceless manifestation, sits.

Valtteri uses his teleportation ability to evade Yala's attacks and starts swinging his weapon, creating shockwaves of energy. Yala protects herself with a shield of nostalgia and creates three clones of Ichika who fire arrows at Valtteri. Valtteri erects a defensive wall but is caught off guard by a rocketing Huapixu, which hits him in the face. However, Valtteri retaliates by using his light contraption to catch Yala in mid-air and swing her down to the ground. The impact disorients both fighters. Yala takes a moment to recover and prepares for her next attack. She engulfs the battlefield in black fog, obscuring the view and creating an illusion of a barbarous forest. Within the illusion, Valtteri sees four young boys, including one with familiar features, entering the forest.

The illusion created by Yala takes a dark turn. Valtteri is confronted with the memory of his brother Reino being brutally killed by a monstrous figure known as the Penumbra. The Penumbra feasts on Reino's body and then turns its attention to Valtteri, ready to strike him down. Overwhelmed with fear and grief, Valtteri initially freezes, but his anger and rage begin to surface. He taps into his light powers, which now resemble lightning, and his form becomes engulfed in a crackling, energy-charged silhouette. Valtteri's giant light-being manifestation lunges forward and delivers a powerful thunderous punch to the Penumbra. However, the Penumbra counters with a strike of its own, swinging its tooth-edged greatsword at Valtteri. The clash between Valtteri's light construct and the Penumbra's blade creates a deadlock, neither being able to deliver a fatal blow.

Valtteri manages to catch Yala in a grapple, despite her attempts to distance herself. Yala's opalescent armor protects her from severe physical damage, but the cracks begin to form. Yala gathers energy and drains the surrounding life force, attempting to stop Valtteri's assault. However, Valtteri's relentless attacks push Yala to the edge, causing her armor to implode and revealing her true form—a hybrid between the armor and a bear of darkness. Yala unleashes a burst of dark-purple energy and charges at Valtteri with feral energy, wielding her shadowy sword. She aims to decapitate Valtteri, dealing almost lethal damage and severely testing his resilience. Despite the blow, Valtteri manages to sustain himself, though he is badly wounded.

Yala's mind is consumed by rage and she launches herself into Valtteri's light blasts, shrugging off the damage as she relentlessly swings her greatsword. The battle becomes a violent attrition, with both fighters focused on overpowering the other. However, Valtteri manages to blow apart some of Yala's transformation, momentarily stopping her onslaught. Taking advantage of the moment, Valtteri manifests shackles around Yala's wrists, restraining her and allowing him to plunge a divine blade into her back. Yala's rage intensifies, and she pulls chunks of earth from the ground, hurling them at Valtteri. The fight continues with intense exchanges and injuries on both sides. Yala then transforms her broken armor into a massive spear, growing in size with the intention of delivering a cataclysmic attack. Valtteri, battered but determined, prepares to face this last-ditch effort.

Yala's magical energy is depleted, and she falls to the ground, fearing Valtteri's approach. However, Valtteri, consumed by rage, brutally attacks her, tearing off her arm and biting into her neck. As Yala's body falls limp and her vision fades, she unexpectedly grows a new arm and undergoes a transformation, gaining a new power. Yala smiles and retaliates with a "Glitter Bomb" attack, causing a massive explosion that engulfs both her and Valtteri. The explosion is fatal, and when the smoke clears, it appears that both fighters are severely damaged or possibly dead. Boss intervenes and whisks them away in flashes of light, declaring Yala the winner.

  • Shorter Summary: Valtteri and Yala mentally prepare for their battle, with Valtteri feeling frustrated and unprepared while Yala exudes confidence and taunts him. Both fighters undergo transformations, with Yala appearing as a classical wizard and Valtteri radiating with a radiant glow. Yala evades Valtteri's attacks and summons a stone tower, while Valtteri utilizes teleportation and unleashes shockwaves of energy. Yala creates clones and an illusion that triggers Valtteri's traumatic memories. Overwhelmed with fear and grief, Valtteri taps into his light powers and becomes a crackling, energy-charged silhouette. The battle intensifies, with Valtteri catching Yala in a grapple and gradually overpowering her. However, Yala's true form is revealed as a hybrid between armor and darkness, and she launches a fierce assault on Valtteri. The fight becomes a violent attrition, with both fighters sustaining heavy injuries. Valtteri manages to restrain Yala momentarily and lands a decisive blow, but Yala retaliates with a cataclysmic attack. The explosion appears fatal for both fighters, but Boss declares Yala the winner and intervenes to whisk them away.

Huapixu v. Eva Eichinger (The Northern Magistrate)

  • Winner: Hope of the People, Huapixu

Huapixu arrives first and expresses her displeasure at the battleground, which she considers sacred. She talks to her familiar, Gordo, and tells him to watch her fight and then report back to her people. Eva, the now former magistrate, enters with a billowing coat in a dramatic fashion. The two exchange pleasantries, and Huapixu mentions she needs to get stronger for when she faces the "False God". Also known as Alfonso, or Boss.

As they get closer to each other, Eva launches a surprise attack, shooting bullets at Huapixu. Huapixu reacts by using her gravity powers to make everything near her heavy, and avoids getting hit by most bullets. However, a few bullets hit her left side, and this enrages her. Huapixu attacks Eva with swift movements, but Eva uses her booster boots to fly away horizontally from Huapixu’s gravity attack. However, Eva's flight through the graveyard causes her to crash through some gravestones. Eva comments on Huapixu’s gravity manipulation magic and the fight continues.

Huapixu, disappointed by Eva’s perceived lack of honor in combat, utilizes acrobatic maneuvers in the trees and unleashes a volley of light shots towards Eva. In response, Eva tries to protect herself with an antimagic coat she acquired from the astrolab, but the coat is not entirely effective against Huapixu’s magic. Eva sustains some burns and disorientation but manages to avoid a fatal blow.

Eva then uses her magical ability to swap places with one of Huapixu's servants from Machu Picchu, Hua's home, which causes Huapixu to mistakenly lunge at her own handmaiden. Huapixu realizes this in midair and adjusts her attack to be less lethal. Meanwhile, Eva conjures an ethereal fire dragon to assault both Huapixu and the handmaiden. Huapixu, putting the safety of her handmaiden first, employs her strength to propel them into the air and out of the path of the fire dragon. She then sends her metallic-tusked companion, Gordo, to attack Eva. Eva, while airborne due to her magical boots, clashes with Gordo. The impact causes Eva to lose her balance, giving Huapixu the opportunity to strike at her with a blazing sun orb.

Huapixu shouts that she doesn't seek honor but wants Eva to look her in the eyes in her last moments. Eva has been knocked to the ground and is on the brink of defeat. In an attempt to protect herself, she uses magic to switch places with Huapixu's servant again. Huapixu’s attack, a blazing punch, ends up hitting her own servant, while Eva also gets hit but not as directly. Huapixu is shocked and distressed at having injured her own servant. She's torn between her dedication to her cause and the guilt over what she just did. This causes her to momentarily hesitate, and she takes some time to regain her focus.

Eva, despite being severely injured with a partially burned face, is invigorated by the battle. She prepares a magically infused weapon and fires it at Huapixu, who makes a desperate attempt to evade the attack by maneuvering through trees. Huapixu narrowly avoids the direct hit, but the impact throws her through the air. Eva, exhausted by the energy-draining attack, kneels down. Meanwhile, Huapixu’s emotions are running high as her form begins to change, seemingly taking on a lava-like texture. Despite her injuries, Eva taunts Huapixu, questioning her earlier sadistic wish to see the light fade from Eva's eyes.

Huapixu, with burning emotions and determination, conjures a massive ball of light and energy that grows to an enormous size. She hurls this ball with all her might directly at Eva. Eva undergoes a transformation through a poetic chant that fuses her with her fairy familiar, Avery. This transformation turns her into the Lady of Butterflies, with butterflies and magical energy cloaking her. Despite the powerful attack that Huapixu unleashed, many butterflies survive and merge into a human shape, which turns out to be a transformed Eva. She seems ethereal and divine in this form, with butterflies making up parts of her body.

Huapixu, enraged that her attack did not annihilate her opponent, summons more energy and starts circling the Lady of Butterflies. Her anger manifests as beams of light raining from the sky, attempting to burn everything beneath. However, the Lady of Butterflies counters this with a defensive smokescreen formed by butterflies and debris, which protects her from most of the damage. The black smoke created by the butterflies begins to cover the entire battlefield. Huapixu tries to dispel the smoke by creating a Sun close to the ground, whose gravity starts to pull unsecured objects towards it. Using the Sun's pull, she propels herself in the air to strike a decisive blow.

In a dramatic twist, Eva reveals that beneath the cloud of smoke, there are grieving families of the Starite warriors who were believed to have left the battleground. The Lady of Butterflies, with a sorrowful expression, questions Huapixu's cruelty and disregard for innocent lives. At this moment, Huapixu realizes that her attack is heading directly towards these innocent bystanders. She is presented with a choice: she could redirect her attack, potentially sparing their lives but sacrificing her own advantage, or continue her assault and ensure victory at the cost of innocent lives.

Huapixu recklessly descends from the skies with a tunnel vision of red and orange, consumed by her commitment to vanquish Alfonso/Boss. Huapixu's descent is so fast and destructive that she fails to recognize the presence of innocents in her path. However, in her fervor, she considers it necessary to sacrifice a few to save many.

Huapixu's impact is cataclysmic, obliterating everything in her path with her molten core and immense power, including the graves, mourners, and Eva. Eva is severely injured but still clinging to life. Huapixu, incensed that her job is not done, approaches Eva for a final attack. Eva, grievously wounded but not defeated, summons her butterflies to attack Huapixu. They go for Huapixu's eyes. In retaliation, Huapixu brings her foot down, crushing Eva and causing the butterflies to retaliate by cutting into Huapixu's face.

Huapixu screams, her body enveloped by pain and rage. As the pain peaks, she doesn't know whether to rejoice or wail. The outcome is just as destructive for her, as she's torn apart by the weight of what she has done. In her last moments, Eva appears accepting of her fate, even addressing herself in an almost apologetic tone before she is finally killed.

Following Eva's death, a white light envelops the battlefield, and both Eva and Huapixu are taken away, signifying the end of their brutal clash. Huapixu, the Hope of the People, is declared the winner.

  • Shorter Summary: The fight is intense, with Huapixu employing gravity powers and acrobatics, while Eva uses surprise tactics, including swapping places with Huapixu's servant and conjuring a fire dragon. The battle escalates, with both characters undergoing transformations - Huapixu into a lava-like being and Eva into the ethereal Lady of Butterflies. The fight reaches its climax when Huapixu, in her rage, unleashes a devastating attack, disregarding innocent bystanders in the area. Eva counterattacks with a swarm of butterflies, but both are severely wounded. Huapixu is declared the winner, as both warriors are enveloped in a white light, signifying the end of their conflict.

Petunia v. Rin

  • Winner: Rose's Thorns Black Petunia

The fight takes place on a magical airship with a steampunk aesthetic, docked at one of the ports of Noble Albion.

Black Petunia enters the airship, feeling taken aback by the surroundings and wondering about the possibility of a crash. He holds his familiar, Midnight, and patiently waits for Rin to arrive. Rin enters with a casual demeanor, suggesting a conversation or a fight. Petunia is slightly annoyed by Rin's nonchalant attitude and implies that any negotiation should end in his favor. Surprisingly, Rin agrees to let Petunia win but demands acceptance of a loss in future fights.

Petunia expresses skepticism about Rin's carefree approach and raises concerns about the risks and consequences they might face. Rin responds by emphasizing his experience in dire situations and his consideration of the bigger picture to avoid potential problems caused by Petunia. They discuss the potential outcomes and punishments, weighing the possibility of fighting each other. Petunia focuses on survival and the significance of winning, while Rin appears more laid-back.

In the midst of their escalating tensions, Rin calls out to Alfonso/Boss, seeking clarification on whether any punishments could create unfair disadvantages in future fights. Alfonso assures Rin that his legs won't be taken, showing his aversion to arbitrary disadvantages. The verbal jabs intensify as Petunia accuses Rin of provocation, while Rin belittles the importance of the duel and mocks Petunia's intense demeanor. Frustrated, Petunia decides to initiate combat and summons shadow clones resembling himself, armed with swords. Rin remains nonchalant yet prepared for the fight.

Petunia commands his shadowy clones to attack Rin, but Rin dodges the first strike and retaliates by throwing a grenade, creating blinding flashes to disorient Petunia and his clones. While Rin manages to avoid most of the damage, one of the shadow clones does hit him, causing some pain. The grenade destroys the shadow clones, leaving Petunia momentarily blinded. Rin ascends into the air, enduring the pain from the clone's attack, while Petunia is disoriented by the blinding flashes. The fight continues with both participants showing a willingness to carry on. Petunia recovers and deploys his thorn whips to ensnare Rin in mid-flight, intending to inflict damage. Rin, anticipating this move, readies his shotgun to counter Petunia's attack.

As Petunia lunges forward, Rin fires his shotgun. Determined, Petunia chooses to withstand the shotgun pellets, resulting in numerous bloody wounds. Simultaneously, Rin is caught in Petunia's thorned tendrils, which leave deep gashes on his legs. Driven by personal vengeance, Petunia tightens the grip of the thorns, aiming to bring Rin down. However, Rin retaliates by tossing an incendiary grenade at the root of the thorns, hoping to burn the floral construct. In an attempt to save Petunia, Midnight transforms into a sword and deflects the grenade. Unfortunately, the explosion sets the wooden airship ablaze. The fire spreads rapidly, engulfing the ship and the vines. Rin manages to shoot through the vine and free himself, while Petunia tries to evade the flames' reach.

With the fire intensifying, Petunia summons colossal hand fans made of dark matter, hoping to control the flames and minimize the damage. However, his attempt only exacerbates the situation. Rin seizes the opportunity to escape, running in search of a hiding place. Petunia, determined not to be outdone, summons an army of dark matter decoys to find Rin. Nevertheless, Rin skillfully employs flashbangs to eliminate about half of the clones. Despite Rin's successful tactic, the remaining clones corner him, while the real Petunia, shielded for the most part, takes a few shotgun pellets. As the ship continues to deteriorate from the fire, Petunia locates Rin and attempts a decisive slash with his sword to end the fight.

However, Rin's speed proves too much for Petunia. Evading Petunia's slash, Rin charges back, weapon in hand. The culmination of momentum, speed, and relentless attacks pushes Petunia backward and into the flames. Petunia stumbles toward the encroaching flames, tormented by pain and haunted by thoughts of past defeats, questioning the worth of his struggles. Meanwhile, Rin remains unperturbed by the chaos and smoke, focusing on his escape. He blasts a hole through the wooden structure above using his shotgun, leaping upward to gain his bearings and find the dock amidst the dangerous conditions of the airship.

Petunia, on the brink of death, undergoes a transformation triggered by Midnight. Despite the agony, he becomes a transformed, albeit corrupted, Floral Hybrid. His skin turns violet, his eyes are replaced by black petunias, and his arms are enveloped in organic armor. Petunia follows Rin, showcasing his newfound power by spreading darkness and a peculiar nectar across the docks. In response, Rin fires an explosive shotgun blast toward Petunia, aiming to create distance between them. Frustrated by Petunia's counterintuitive actions and sudden recovery, Rin reflects on the unexpected turn of events. Petunia revels in his corrupted state, confident in his newfound power. He faces the incoming fire without flinching, using the darkness to devour the flames. When Rin unleashes another explosive blast, Petunia conjures a massive shield made of dark matter, shielding himself from the attack.

Petunia relentlessly pursues Rin across the docks, employing his thorn whips to strike at his opponent. Rin employs evasive maneuvers and taunts Petunia, firing shotgun blasts and creating distractions with noisemakers. However, Rin realizes that victory cannot be achieved through brute force and evasion alone. As Petunia throws a sword at a hot air balloon, Rin focuses on finding cover and concealing himself, attempting to outsmart his opponent. Petunia spreads darkness and shadows throughout the docks, indiscriminately causing destruction. Rin tries to evade Petunia's gaze, sprinting through the open area, but he eventually falls into Petunia's sight.

With a burst of movement, Petunia's shadowy tendrils close in on Rin, and one of them pierces through Rin's abdomen, causing excruciating pain. Rin convulses in agony as he is lifted effortlessly by the tendril. Petunia captures Rin, bringing him before himself with a sword poised for a fatal strike. Petunia offers Rin a chance to speak his last words, but Rin remains mostly silent, expressing his disappointment that Petunia didn't accept the deal. Rin smirks and reveals a small button in his hand before activating it. A colossal explosion engulfs the area, tearing apart the battlefield andcausing immense destruction. Petunia's body is severely damaged, with limbs twisted and mangled. Despite the excruciating pain, Petunia pushes through, determined to survive. Rin, however, is nowhere to be seen, leaving behind an eerie silence. Petunia sinks to his knees, expressing disdain for Rin's actions and resigning himself to the impending destruction. He wishes for Rin to suffer and declares that Rin cannot escape his punishment. Filled with spite and anger, Petunia awaits his own fate, hoping for regeneration and restitution.

As Petunia waits, he reflects on the uncertainty of what lies ahead and the delicate balance between hope and harsh reality. He embraces the uncertainty, clinging to the possibility of a satisfying reward. The fire rages on around him, and as his vision dims, a white light overtakes him. In the end, Petunia emerges as the survivor and the winner of the battle.

  • Shorter Summary: Black Petunia and Rin engage in a fierce battle on a steampunk airship docked at Noble Albion's port. Petunia, initially taken aback by the surroundings, waits for Rin while holding his familiar, Midnight. Rin, with a casual demeanor, proposes either a conversation or a fight, annoying Petunia with his nonchalant attitude. Surprisingly, Rin agrees to let Petunia win this round but demands a future loss in return. As tensions escalate, Rin seeks clarification on potential unfair punishments from Alfonso/Boss. Verbal jabs intensify before Petunia summons shadow clones and the fight commences. Rin manages to disorient the clones with a grenade, but Petunia tightens thorned tendrils around Rin's legs. The ship catches fire, forcing both fighters to navigate the dangerous situation. Petunia's transformation into a corrupted Floral Hybrid grants him new powers, while Rin fires explosive blasts. The battle continues, with Rin attempting to outsmart Petunia and Petunia relentlessly pursuing him. Eventually, Petunia pierces Rin's abdomen, but Rin activates a button that causes a massive explosion. The aftermath leaves Petunia severely damaged, but Rin is nowhere to be found. Petunia waits, contemplating the uncertainty and embracing the hope of a satisfying reward. In the end, Petunia emerges as the winner.

Eva DeSista v. Sirius

Taking place on a mountain peak, Eva DeSista confronts Sirius. Eva is taunted by her familiar, Eir, who provides little help. Sirius, despite her youth, exhibits fierce determination, guided by her familiar, Alpha Canis Majoris, and her satellite Tsurat Alfilit. The fight begins when Sirius invites Eva to strike first.

Eva, feeling morally conflicted about fighting a teenager, summons her blunt sword and attacks Sirius. Their clash sees Sirius protecting herself with a shield and kinetic blasts from her satellite. Sirius then turns the tables, using her ability to create a beam of light as a weapon, damaging Eva and throwing her off balance. Despite this, Eva uses her wings and the snowy environment to her advantage, temporarily blinding Sirius.

The fight intensifies, with Sirius using her satellite to launch attacks and Eva retaliating despite the growing pain and regret she feels. Sirius manages to use her satellite as a ramming tool, while Eva, despite feeling overwhelmed by Sirius's power, resolves to continue the fight using her sword. The two engage in a clash, with Sirius sustaining an injury from Eva's sword while returning the blow by blasting Eva with energy from her satellite.

Despite their injuries, both girls show their determination to fight. Sirius creates an avalanche to limit Eva's movements, while Eva gets severely injured dodging Sirius's starlit projectiles. Despite her injuries and a hit from a falling star, Eva is determined not to die. Meanwhile, Sirius, despite being unstable and on the brink of losing control, continues her attack.

As Sirius edges closer to losing control, Eva, urged by her familiar, Eir, concentrates and suddenly heals her wounds in a burst of golden-green light. Seeing this, Sirius also heals, but instead of flesh, she transforms into iron, symbolizing the final stage of a star's life.

The two then reengage in combat, with Eva striking Sirius's iron body. Sirius retaliates with a devastating attack, firing a beam of immense energy from her reassembled satellite. In a surprising turn of events, Eva, who was initially charging towards Sirius for an attack, attempts to save Sirius from the self-destructive beam she has launched. As they collide, the energy beam creates a massive explosion that engulfs them and a portion of the mountain.

Sirius is presumably killed first, declaring Eva as the winner.

     Chapter 3 - Colosseum Recap

VICTORY CONDITION:

One Singularity is dead.

OTHER CONDITIONS:

If seven minutes pass and nobody is dead, both will lose.

OTHER NOTES:

Some people will not be fighting this round. The official reason is that Nyaka senses "dark energies" in the singularities. For that reason, Umyiko, Yala, and Mishima will not fight. Although the reason for Yala not fighting is due to her becoming an archmage, with Lukas having to fight for this round in her place.

Rowan v. Ichika

  • Winner: Big Bro Rowan Evans

For this fight, the Colosseum has transformed into a dark city. Ichika and Rowan, both unwilling to engage in a violent clash decide to settle their duel through a game of rock-paper-scissors. Ichika, drawing power from love, is hesitant to use it against Rowan, fearing collateral damage. Meanwhile, Rowan also shows no interest in needless destruction.

With heavy hearts but hopeful of avoiding a violent conflict, they play. Rowan, using his intuition and strategy, wins by choosing "paper" over Ichika's "rock."

Despite her internal battle over whether to survive or honor the terms of their agreement, Ichika ultimately chooses the latter. Rowan, wrestling with the moral weight of his actions, shoots her. Though the act is done without sound due to his illusion magic, the emotional toll is palpable for both. As Ichika falls, she fights her instinct to survive, letting herself die as agreed upon.

Rowan is left to confront his own emotions, struggling to reconcile the morality of his actions. Aurelia notes Rowan's evident emotional turmoil but doesn't offer much in the way of consolation.

Both are whisked away in a bathing white light, and Rowan is the declared winner.

Masami v. Nox

  • Winner: Nice Nox of Steelhaven

In a sweltering replica of biblical hell, Masami and Nox find themselves pitted against each other. Transforming into a reaper, Masami wields a greatsword and a dagger. Nox, encased in stone and concrete armor, brandishes a hammer and claws. Despite their reluctance, both acknowledge they must fight due to external circumstances.

The battle kicks off with Masami charging at Nox, her greatsword aimed for a downward strike. Nox takes the hit, relying on her armor for protection. As Masami searches for weaknesses in Nox's armor with a horizontal cut, Nox counters with spikes erupting from the ground. Masami avoids impalement by soaring into the air. For a brief moment, their eyes meet, each determined to end the duel. Masami dives down, successfully landing a blow on Nox's head, momentarily causing both to question the ethics of their actions.

Things take a fantastical turn when Nox unleashes her accumulated energy to create a living citadel named Stonehaven, a sprawling cityscape with brutalist architecture. As Masami scales the gargantuan structure, she faces traps set by Nox's familiar, Bouldie, who acts as the self-proclaimed king of Stonehaven. Reaching the castle within, Masami is attacked by a wrench-wielding Nox. With clock ticking, Masami decides to brace for impact rather than dodge.

The struggle reaches its zenith within the castle. Nox injures Masami significantly, causing a stalemate where both are caught in a deadlock. Instead of killing her outright, Nox throws Masami out of the castle from a window. Masami reflects on her life choices as she descends, meeting her presumed end with a heavy impact. Meanwhile, Nox feels emotionally drained, grappling with the fallout of her actions as the citadel crumbles.

Emerging from the ruins of her shattered citadel, Nox finds Masami, still breathing but gravely injured. An emotionally torn Nox hesitates but ultimately delivers the killing blow, rationalizing it as for the greater good. In her dying moments, Masami contemplates her actions and regrets, finally succumbing to Nox's final strike.

Consumed by guilt, Nox blames the universe and everyone responsible for forcing her into this situation. The fight culminates in a flash of white light, declaring Nox as the victor.

Valtteri v. Huapixu

  • Winner: Big Cuddly Buddy (?) Valtteri the Ruthless

In a serene forest alcove setting transformed from a Colosseum, Huapixu and Valtteri prepare for battle. Huapixu is initially relaxed, dipping her legs into a nearby stream, while Valtteri appears defeated, having a whispered argument with his familiar, Wisp. Despite the tranquil surroundings, tension is palpable. Huapixu offers a hug as a gesture of "friendly, good faith," but Valtteri interprets this as mockery and rebuffs her.

Both combatants deliver and dodge powerful blows. Valtteri's frustrations mount, affected by his past failures and Huapixu's taunts. Despite both fighters being wounded, they push on, intensifying the fight.

Huapixu then lands a significant blow on Valtteri, who teleports away to regain composure. A darker turn occurs when Valtteri summons shadow wolves, losing some control over his abilities. Huapixu counters fiercely, eliminating the shadow wolves and landing another blow on Valtteri. She nearly succeeds in reaching into his chest cavity, but Valtteri stops her by transforming into a gigantic beast.

The confrontation reaches a nightmarish climax when Valtteri seeks Huapixu in the trees, finally getting hold of her and biting off her shoulder. Despite the horror, Huapixu manages to launch a comet-like projectile, hitting Valtteri's neck and causing him pain. Yet, her efforts are in vain. Valtteri eventually tosses Huapixu into his mouth, swallowing her whole. Inside him, she fires a final beam of light upward, creating a fleeting beacon. Though it doesn't save her, the act leaves Valtteri visibly affected.

Valtteri emerges as the victor of this dark and brutal duel. And is whisked away by light.

Petunia v. Aziel

  • Winner: Starry Aziel Noxes

In a tranquil field set against a mountainous backdrop, Aziel and Petunia find themselves locked in a duel to the death, albeit reluctantly due to their emotional bond. Rather than an all-out battle, they opt for an old-fashioned gun duel with agreed-upon rules. The duel commences, and Starmaker—Aziel's transformed state—fires first, wounding but not defeating Petunia. The latter retaliates with dark matter abilities, transforming the duel into a display of light and shadows, intricate strategies, and clashing abilities.

Petunia employs shadow bullets, dark matter barriers, and even illusion spores to disorient Starmaker. He goes on the offensive, using decoys, dark energy blasts, and illusionary tactics to unsteady his opponent. Starmaker, meanwhile, attempts to maintain control, defending himself and counteracting Petunia's moves with his sword and spheres of light. Petunia gains the upper hand when his illusion spores cause Aziel to relive past traumas, making him vulnerable and subsequently damaged by a blast of dark energy.

However, Aziel shows remarkable resilience, reorienting himself and returning to the fight. The duel escalates to a new level of intensity as Petunia resorts to dual-wielding dark matter guns and hurling explosive shadow grenades. Although significantly injured, Aziel remains strategically focused. The fight reaches its crescendo when Petunia, thinking he has won, delivers a final sword thrust that pins Aziel to a tree. In a last-ditch effort, Aziel resists Petunia's sword and counterattacks, delivering a fatal headshot.

As the clock runs out, Aziel, though overwhelmed with a variety of emotions, manages to maintain his focus on survival. The duel ends with both disappearing in a flash of light, and Aziel is declared the winner.

Eva v. 7MB2

  • Winner: Super Sweet Miriam

The fight between Eva and 7MB2, set in a transformed Colosseum resembling a starry sea, unfolds as a deeply emotional and physical confrontation. Eva enters the battle introspective, conscious of her long preparation and the complex familial bond she shares with 7MB2, despite their estrangement. She is determined not to hold back. 7MB2, on the other hand, reflects on her past and the inevitability of the battle, acknowledging her need for survival. She merges with her familiar, Etwas, preparing herself for the fight.

As the battle commences, 7MB2 summons wind dragons, launching an aggressive attack against Eva. Eva, demonstrating her healing ability, appears almost unkillable, dodging and counterattacking with strategic focus. 7MB2, in response, continues her assault with a mix of tactics and weaponry, including a rifle and a spear, trying to exploit Eva's brief healing periods. Both combatants showcase their strengths: Eva with her superior strength and magical prowess, and 7MB2 with her strategic use of tactics and weaponry. Despite sustaining severe injuries, both persist, demonstrating remarkable pain endurance and resilience.

The climax of the battle is marked by Eva's hesitation to deliver the final blow, torn between their sisterly bond and the necessity of the fight. 7MB2, acknowledging their connection, expresses her desire to be a good sister. This emotional turmoil reaches a peak when Eva, facing a personal revelation about her own failings as a sister, is uncertain about finishing the fight.

However, the battle takes an unexpected turn when 7MB2 is violently absorbed by her familiar, Etwas, and transformed into a monstrous entity. Eva, shocked and pained by this transformation, struggles against the entity while grappling with her feelings of fear, confusion, and a sense of betrayal. Eva's familiar, Eir, remains mostly passive except for one moment, where he bites down on 7MB2's corrupted form. The battle continues with the entity inflicting severe wounds on Eva, who desperately tries to fend off the attacks and heal herself.

Simultaneously, 7MB2 undergoes a profound internal conflict, symbolized through various hallucinatory experiences, reflecting on her identity and the choices she's made. In the final moments, as the entity prepares to deliver a fatal embrace to Eva, Eva expresses her love for 7MB2, despite facing imminent death.

In a poignant moment of realization, 7MB2 gains clarity about her identity and worth, deciding to embrace all aspects of herself, including her troubled past. This moment of self-acceptance marks a significant transformation for 7MB2, who emerges from the battle purified yet stained, understanding the consequences of her actions. She acknowledges Eva's love, accepting the bittersweet outcome of their encounter. Tragically, Eva does not survive the asphyxiation, leaving 7MB2 as the sole survivor of the fight.

Pegasus v. Sirius

  • Winner: ???

The fight is set in an unusual environment that combines an endless library with high-tech lab equipment. Pegasus enters the arena first, accompanied by Bellorophon. He displays a playful attitude, engaging in light-hearted banter with Bellorophon.

Sirius, in contrast, arrives transformed and floating. She's momentarily captivated by the library's books but quickly focuses on the fight, approaching Pegasus and initiating a conversation about the significance of their battle.

Pegasus, feigning difficulty in seeing Sirius due to his age, shockingly offers to throw the match, suggesting a free win for Sirius. Sirius, indignant and unwilling to accept an unearned victory, prepares to attack herself with her satellite, Alpha. In response, Pegasus uses his hat to disrupt Alpha's aim, and Bellorophon attempts a physical assault on the satellite.

The battle evolves into a debate over principles. Sirius insists on not letting Pegasus risk losing, whereas Pegasus discusses the moral implications of battling a child and his desire to distribute the burdens of victory and defeat evenly. Eventually, they agree on a fair fight, where both would exert their full strength, ensuring a deserving winner.

The fight intensifies as Pegasus activates a giant robot, CHARIOT P.E.R.S.E.U.S, and controls it alongside Bellorophon. Pegasus, utilizing the robot's immense power, launches a series of attacks, including firing energy orbs from a cannon. Sirius narrowly evades destruction, countering with her own magical offensive.

Sirius tries to exploit an opening by attacking the robot's control center. However, this turns out to be a trap, and Pegasus launches a surprise counterattack, propelling both of them out of the mech and towards the ground at a dangerously high speed. Pegasus playfully proposes a bet on who would create a larger explosion upon impact.

As they fall, Sirius transforms back into her child form, seemingly relinquishing her powers. But just before the anticipated collision with the ground, she unleashes a supernova-like explosion of intense light, making it impossible to discern the outcome of the fight.

Altair v. Lukas

  • Winner: New Archmage Altair of Uruk

In a massive pirate ship, Altair faces off against Lukas. Altair, with his ability to fly, quickly takes to the air to assess the ship and strategizes about the impending conflict. He is dismissive of Lukas, questioning his ideals and purpose in the fight.

Lukas, on the other hand, is clearly not a fighter. His hesitant and unsteady demeanor with his sword is clear. This lack of conviction is immediately called out by Altair, who sees Lukas as pathetically outmatched.

The fight starts with Altair employing his powers to create sonic booms and electrical charges, while Lukas tries to defend himself and respond with his healing abilities and magic-imbued sword. Despite Lukas's efforts, he is indeed severely outmatched by Altair's aerial advantage and magical onslaught.

Lukas, realizing his impending defeat, makes a desperate claim that he can endure for seven minutes, forcing a draw. However, Altair, unfazed, continues his attack, eventually shooting Lukas with an electrically charged arrow. Lukas's healing powers are unable to cope with the continuous damage, and he falls into the ocean, leading to his permanent demise, signified by the pink seafoam that appears on the water's surface.

Following Lukas's death, Alfonso appears and addresses Altair. Alfonso acknowledges Altair as Lukas's killer and, due to the lack of other candidates and Altair's previous application for the role, grants him the title of Archmage. Despite Altair's sarcastic and critical response to Alfonso, he accepts the role, marking the end of the battle and the start of a new chapter as the new Archmage.
