Robin Mark Askwith, (12 October 1950), is a British actor best known for playing Timmy Lea in the Confessions of a... Series of Awful British Sex Comedies.
His interest in acting came about because his neighbour was the floor manager at Pinewood Studios, so he and his neighbour's son would watch movies as they were filmed, such as The Servant and Cleopatra. Early on in his life he modeled for catalogues and did a few commercials. After portraying King Edward IV in his school's production of Richard III, he was encouraged to audition for if.... (1968), which was a success.
At the start of Askwith's career, he mostly did small TV roles or appeared in horror movies, with a notable early role for him coming as Joe in the 1970 Dramedy Cool It, Carol!. Still, as The '70s progressed he began to appear in many an awful British sex comedy, starting as the star of the Confessions of a... films, Timmy Lea (a role turned down by Richard Beckinsale, Richard O'Sullivan, Nicky Henson, and Dennis Waterman).
On TV, he starred in On the House as Harvey Micklethwaite, Beryl's Lot as Fred Pickering, and the poorly received '80s sitcom Bottle Boys as a randy, football-obsessed milkman named Dave Deacon. Since the 2000s, he has taken a few small roles in Soap Operas.
Askwith is still a familiar face on British TV to this day.
