Owned by Liberty Interactive, QVC (short for Quality, Value, and Convenience) is a shopping channel first launched in 1986. The channel was formally a direct rival to fellow channel Home Shopping Network, until the owners of QVC would purchase that channel placing both channels under the same brand. QVC was not the first channel to have a live shopping format, that going to its former rival, but it is the largest and most popular home shopping channel in America along with the second largest channel in terms of revenue it generates.
