Allison Pregler (born December 6, 1989) is a reviewer who takes on Z-grade movies, usually in the horror or martial arts genre; a roughly similar beat to The Cinema Snob, but tending towards dumb action flicks and a morbid enjoyment of them. She began reviewing in late 2009 and after gaining some notoriety on their forums (under her old handle, Obscurus Lupa), she became a member of the Channel Awesome family. She remained on the site until early 2015, when Obscurus Lupa Presents was retooled into Movie Nights.

• Obscurus Lupa Presents: Z-movies from the early 70s to the modern day. A "Z" movie for Allison is something that doesn't have the capability or the budget to do something incredible. Not all the movies are bad. Some are terrible.
• Commercial Dubs: Allison riffs on TV spots and film trailers from the 90s in her inimitable style.
• Manic Episodes: Focuses on individual episodes from TV shows, usually of the Big Lipped Alligatorinvoked variety. As with her movie reviews, Allison points out inherent issues with the writing, acting and production. More recently, Allison has taken to reviewing the entire run of series that jumped the shark (She-Wolf of London), were cut down in their prime (Beauty and the Beast, Tales of the Gold Monkey), or didn't live up to their potential (Charmed).
  • Baywatching: A trek through America's gift to the world, Baywatch! Allison has vowed to review all 242 grueling episodes.
• Radu Reviews: Christian and Edutainment films for kids reviewed by everybody's favorite vampire, Radu Vladislav! Radu seems to be under the impression that these films are macabre and edgy.
• Movie Nights: Similar to Obscurus Lupa Presents but with the format changed to a discussion panel, either with Allison presenting solo or teaming up with a guest host (such as her husband and frequent collaborator Phelous). The movies chosen are still either Z-grade genre films or notorious mainstream flops that flew under the radar. Unlike OLP, Allison does not perform as a character.

She also currently runs two podcasts through her channel, both covering the Charmed franchise and both co-hosted with Phelous.

• Charmed Hard with a Vengeance: Allison and Phelous recap and talk about each episode of the 2018 reboot of Charmed as it airs. They bailed on the show with "Chaos Theory."
• Charmed Rewind: When the reboot is on breaks, Allison and Phelous dip into episodes of the original show as selected by voters from her Patreon.

After a controversial departure from Channel Awesome, Allison officially announced on January 20th, 2015, that she'd be revamping OLP into an impromptu review show called Movie Nights, with an appropriately-shlocky elevator jazz theme.

  • Though her review of Two Front Teeth starts negatively, she soon comes around to loving it.

• Alternative Character Interpretation: An in-universe case. In her review of The Amazing Bulk, she jokingly suggests that Darwin is actually neither a general nor Hank's boss, just some crazy guy whose delusions are enabled by the other characters.

  • The eighth season of Charmed opens on an appropriate venue, a wake. Allison is sunny: "Things start off swimmingly, because ''the Charmed Ones are dead!" This is even the theme of Season 8's title card, depicting a going away party for the Halliwell Clan (alive and dead) and Allison blowing a party horn in celebration.
• Angrish:
  • When the events of Mindwarp are revealed to have all been a simulation, Allison reverts to sputtering angrish for a few seconds.
  • Her reaction to Return to Frogtown being a remake, and not a sequel.
• Anything but That!:
  • Angry Joe demanding that she review Phantasm's crappy sequels, or he'll make her...watch Gerry again! "You bastard!"
  • Mitch on Baywatch is portrayed as the ultimate deadbeat dad, as shown in "The Sky is Falling"; frequently mistaking Hobie for inanimate objects and fighting his ex for custody... of his favorite surfer bum hat. *cue sad Tibetan flute*
• April Fools' Day: Used to review some awful movie called Star Wars: A New Hope, which "fell into rightful obscurity".
• Arc Fatigue: invoked Welcome to Manic Episodes, home of the Charmed reviews. Whatever.
  • Her year-long stint reviewing the 13 Witchcraft movies. Later reviews had her try to escape reviewing them and make jokes about trying to get them out of the way.
• Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking:
  • A filibuster of hate at Charmed (1998)'s Phoebe.
    "What a selfish, awful person. Seriously, who was watching this and didn't instantly see Emperor Palpatine through her thin, grimy veneer? She's the most heinous of people, the lowest of the low. I could murder her! And she's fictional! I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS WATCHING THIS SHOW!

  • Over the course of the recaps, Charmed's Elders are promoted to dicks, such dicks, colossal dicks, a BAG of dicks and a city constructed entirely out of dicks.

  • Allison's parting shot at the series was morbid, and yet also fitting: the DVD box sets are of such poor quality that they rendered some of her discs unwatchable.
• Arson, Murder, and Lifesaving: "Aaaand yet..."
  • She riffs because she cares. The harshest videos often conclude with a recommendation. Even Charmed got a last-minute reprieve, with at least its early seasons receiving a Guilty Pleasure recommendation.
  • She admits that, for all the insanity of the episode "Cyberwoman" from Torchwood, a cyborg woman fighting a pterodactyl is not something to see every day.
  • The climax of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation has Renee Zellweger being pursued by two Illuminati agents in a black sedan, Leatherface in a woman suit, and a crop duster plane a la North By Northwest.
    "That.....was AWESOME!!"
  • Two examples from Charmed, both involving "Bad Future" storylines. The Season Two closer impressed Allison with its dark mood and twist ending, in which Future Phoebe does not get rescued by the Whitelighters and falls prey to a modern witch hunt. And it all hinged on dog poop!
    Allison: (Remember, they always gotta add one stupid thing.)
  • Season Six went the other way: laughably-cheap establishing shots of "2026 AD", hopeless time travel discontinuities, and Piper's spawn growing up to become dictator of the world ("And he looks hilariously like a member of Nickelback"). And with that, the show barrels over the line where it becomes awesome.
  • Faint praise, but she did appreciate the casting of two actors who look exactly like Old!Piper and Leo, instead of resorting to some kind of hideous prosthetics (which they almost did).
  • Much chortling over Leo's role as the "doofy guy who explains away plot holes and gets stuff thrown at him." However, it seems he's been hanging around the Halliwells too long, as Season Eight sees him turning into an apathetic, lecherous bum who makes a pass at another man's wife, earning himself a punch in the jaw. To which Allison surrenders, "Okay, he deserved that one."
  • She went against fan opinion by praising Season 8's Replacement Scrappyinvoked, Billie (Kaley Cuoco of The Big Bang Theory fame) for acting her heart out and being a better hero overall — regardless of what the Halliwells claim.
    Allison: I know, I know, she's a stupid add-on character that takes attention away from the leads. But you're not understanding me: she takes attention away from the leads.
• Atrocious Alias: While the literal interpretation of the latin "Obscurus Lupa" is along the lines of "Dark She-Wolf", it's been brought to her attention before that in slang usage, it also would mean "evil whore."
• Author Appeal:
  • She looooooooves Cynthia Rothrock. (and Richard Norton.)
    Allison: (mock whisper) I'm going to spoil it for you: Cynthia Rothrock kicks people. A LOT.
  • She isn't above (gently) taking the piss out the martial arts queen. ( X-treme Fighter)
    Sally: I'm studying for my second PhD.
    Allison: Hoo hoo, it's still funny.
  • The Cheetah Lee character (Ninja the Mission Force S.2) is a well-crafted portrayal of Rothrock, from the wig to the ridiculous fight stances.
  • If the opening title cards are any hint, she's a fan of Bowling for Soup.
  • Werewolves. Werewolves everywhere.
  • Kate Hodge of She-Wolf of London "fame". She even has an autographed glossy of Hodge on her mantel (confusingly addressed to "Scott").
  • And after Allison gets through her filmography, poor Kate will wish she had stayed anonymous.
    "Was she in this? Whoopsie!"
  • "Actor" Billy Drago. While not as beloved as the others (Allison never sought Billy out: he just sort of stumbles drunkenly into her reviews), he's always a welcome sight nonetheless.
  • In a subversion, she's nonplussed to see Brandon Quinn, a respectable actor and lead hero of her favorite show from childhood, Big Wolf on Campus, slumming it as lunkhead "Agent Murphy" on Charmed S.8.
  • Allison likes her musical interludes—such as The Goddamned Frog Band.
  • Everyone's favorite drunk, Pappy, serenading the audience with "Testify". Allison happily plays Air Guitar by the end. (Howling 7: New Moon Rising)
    "And yes, folks, he did just tell everyone to stand up after he told them to sit down. Testify!"
  • Halfway into A Special Sesame Street Christmas, Allison is about ready to throw in the towel... and then Oscar breaks out the electric guitar.

  • Allison opened the review for Miami Connection—aka the world's first musical about ninjas—dressed as a trashy 80s rock groupie. The reason quickly becomes clear: Dragon's Sound. Allison punches the air with joy.

  • Sexophone: The soundtrack to Allison's life. Also lampshaded throughout her reviews, most notably in her Hard To Kill review: "CUE SEXY SAXOPHONE MUSIC". Later parodied in Baywatch's "The Drowning Pool", when the smoldering Derek McSnobbington descends some stairs with a superimposed sax between his lips.
  • For some unknowable reason, the "sandboni" on Baywatch elicits cheers whenever it shows up. invoked
• Awesomeness Is Volatile:
  • When writing down the awesome Burt quotes in Tremors 2: Aftershocks, one of the lines caused her notebook to explode.
  • Her pet theory that Cynthia Rothrock can cause anything to explode into flames just by kicking it. Dumpsters, washing machines, Billy Drago...
• Backhanded Compliment:
  • Undefeatable - That year's best comedy.
  • China O'Brien 2 - The sequel so good, you can't even get it on DVD.
  • Witchcraft 5 has the best sound mixing in the series so far.
    Allison: They went from "no effort at all", to, "DUB EVERYTHING"
  • The Smiths' "How Soon is Now", while an odd choice for Charmed's theme song, is especially fitting when you consider her emotional state while reviewing it.
• Be Careful What You Wish For: MikeJ sits though ten torturous minutes of Witchcraft 5 under the promise of seeing boobs. Ask and ye shall receive! ....And the sex scenes are just as monotonous as the rest of the film.
  Allison: Are ya bored yet? :3
  MikeJ: You're an awful person.
• Beat Them at Their Own Game: Oancitizen's insistence that HOOILLIAM SHAXSPAHR is not supposed to have toilet humor in it. Two words for you:
  Allison: Country Matters.
  Oan: (beat) Touché.
• Beauty Equals Goodness: "Not McDreamy! But...he's so charming and British! Accents make everything sexy, he can't be the killer! Perhaps it was some ugly person!"
• Berserk Button:
  • Gerry.
  • All Just a Dream endings, which have appeared in numerous films that she has reviewed, and which get a different angry reaction each time.
  • She has pointed out that what bothers her the most is how these endings often do not make sense, as they often contradict previous scenes which imply that the movie is taking place in reality. She found this to be a major source of annoyance in 13 seconds, especially since the lead character dreamed of scenes he himself doesn't appear in.

  • Phoebe's love life. Just... any of it. ("I don't care I don't care I DON'T CAAARRRRGHGGH") invoked
  • Continually reminding Phoebe of her Aesop Amnesia, to little avail. Particularly toward Cole, who was starting to make Pheobe look bad shortly before he was written out.
    Phoebe: I love watching lawyers explode!
    Allison: Oh, just fuck you forever.
• Beware the Nice Ones:
  • She is pretty shocked during Lady Dragon when the little boy kills a bad guy with one kick.
    Allison: Send him to fight Ludwig!
  • With Allison herself, she's one of the nicer people on the site, but stalk her, not have fun or refuse to be a lady and she'll get scary. And like the apparent majority of people, she enjoys making the Critic suffer.
• Big "NO!":
  • Used in her review of "Razor Sharpe". It was justified.
  • When the Little Miss Gamer lookalike gets wasted in Blood Red Moon.

  • The "Groundhog Day" Loop of Phoebe Halliwell discovering love, giving up on love, and discovering it again. When Cole returns just for the sake of repackaging this turkey, Allison responds with teeth-gritted "nnnnnnnnnNO."
    • Slow "NO!": Her reaction to Sleepy Hollow High's "Fuck You" ending.
    • Mitch's genes have passed to his son Hobie, whom he's grooming to succeed him as L.A.'s biggest cretin. Whenever Hobie starts to "Blue Lagoon'ing it" with another child actor or makes a pass at older women, the word NO creeps onto the screen.
    • Baywatch gives us an episode of Captain Thorpe in tight orange shorts, ("The Sky is Falling") followed by Bryan Cranton in tight white shorts ("Cruise Ship")

  • To save her viewers seven minutes of their lives ("that I will never get back"), she summarizes Howling 5 thusly:

• Body Horror: While watching We Wish You a Turtle Christmas, a horrified Allison shouts, "His gums! His gums! Teeth do not move separately from the rest of the mouth!"
• Bold Inflation: When critiquing the artwork in the Charmed comics, she notes that the dialogue seemingly has every other word bolded. When quoting the comic later, she makes sure to unnaturally emphasize the bolded text.
• Breakout Character: Her impression of Radu from the Subspecies movies has become this, to the point he earned his own series.
• Breathless Non Sequitur: Allison has a very fast paced editing style, so a lot of the jokes can play out like this.
• Brick Joke: Neighbor Dan being called a "greasy buttcrack poo-flap" back in the very early reviews of Charmed, which comes back in season 7 when Alison is lead to believe that the Charmed Ones killed him.
• Broke the Rating Scale: My Boyfriend's Back manages to break the "Wackiness Meter", earning a slow clap.
  • Phoebe's selfishness grows exponentially as Charmed progresses. "I'm running out of larger quantities to measure her bitchiness by."
• Buffy Speak: Charmed Season Six, the Daryliest of all the seasons.
  • Fittingly, she refers to the Cole storyline in season three as the show at its "trying-to-be-Buffyest."
• The Cameo:
  • The opening of "Hard to Kill" has cameos by several of her friends and colleagues from the TGWTG forums, including Diamanda Hagan, Audible Underwear of Music Video Theater 3000, Apollo Z. Hack, and Nash of What the Fuck Is Wrong with You??
  • Her (at the time) boyfriend Jeremiah made several cameos in her videos, either as himself or other characters.
  • The Cinema Snob has a cameo at the end of Shark Attack 3, confused why his theme song was used over the end credits. He also provides the narration for the trailer of Pirahnasaur
  • In her review of the third and fourth Phantasm films, Allison is confronted by Angry Joe.
  • At the end of the Birdemic review, The Cinema Snob and Oancitizen fight off poorly-animated birds, whilst Todd in the Shadows tries to save her from them and is pecked to death off-camera. She remarks that, as far as any viewers know, Todd might be black.

• Cat Fight: Allison vs. The Nostalgia Chick, over Todd in the Shadows. (The former loathes him despite his love, the latter loves him despite his indifference).
• Celebrity Paradox: Discussed in her Charmed reviews. One episode of Charmed establishes Phoebe as a big Sex and the City fan, while in that very same episode she's dating a guy who's played by an actor from Sex and the City. Allison wonders how Phoebe doesn't notice her new boyfriend looks exactly like a Sex and the City character.

In Season 7, the sisters go off-screen and inexplicably return with Prue's old ability to astral project (from the days when each Charmed One possessed a single unique power), which Prue guarded so jealously, she never taught it to anyone while she was alive... except for Leo, of course.

  • Purposely invoked in Baywatch, a series which seemingly revolves around Barely-There Swimwear. She torpedoes every lingering shot with a snarky remark or a loud belch.
    • Lest you think Baywatch is guilty of ageism, "The Sky is Falling" brings us Captain Thorpe's scantily-clad midlife crisis.
      "Can we not spend copious amounts of time staring at Captain Thorpe's balls?"
• Fate Worse than Death: Allison traps Angry Joe in Gerry.
  • Allison reckons meeting The Charmed Ones is akin to this.
• Fauxshadow: Points out in The Howling: Reborn reboot once lines have been revealed as fauxshadowing, there needs to be another reason why the characters would have said them.
• Fight Scene Failure:invoked She was accidentally punched in the face by Brad Jones, he meant to fake it but the hit connected.

  • As a tearful farewell, Charmed's Daryl got "I Will Always Love You" set to him repeatedly furrowing his brow and being thrown into things.
  • "Phoebe Phashion" got it's own heartfelt montage as well, this time showcasing her entire deplorable clothing line during this eight-season siege. The music? "Devil in a Blue Dress" by the Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels.

• I Love the Smell of X in the Morning: Blood Red Moon
  (inhales loudly) Mmm... smells like ripoff.
• I Know Karate: The number of people in Undefeatable that turn out to know martial arts leads Allison to declare she would not be surprised if it turned out a kid in a grocery store scene turned out to know karate too.
• I Remember It Like It Was Yesterday: She begins her tenth episode saying it feels like only four months ago when she started. This is followed by a montage of her previous reviews. Subverted when Apollo Z. Hack phones to point out ten episodes is not a big achievement, particularly when The Nostalgia Critic did a hundred episodes.
• I'm Standing Right Here: Allison gets a bit defensive when MikeJ acquaints Witchcraft 5's effects with MS Paint.
• Ice-Cream Koan: She was extremely confused by the bizarre ramblings about "fate and destiny" delivered by the villain of Vampire Assassin.

Later this extends to pretty much everything Wyatt does, since the Cleaners who's job it is to enforce the masquerade can't bring people back to life, meaning a lot of people died when Wyatt summoned the Dragon that lay waste to San Francisco.
  • Other, smaller examples include the sisters' causal "racism" against leprechauns, and the trauma of faking their deaths (complete with a wake) with Piper's kids in attendance, standing around in formal wear with uncomprehending looks on their faces.

• Mundane Made Awesome:
  • In keeping with the site-wide Running Gag, she tends to play "Ghost Love Score" whenever she deems it necessary, such as a fight scene in Vampire Assassin where a secondary character who never even gets a name punches out a vampire while dragging the unconscious protagonist with the other hand.

• Musical Episode: Alien Apocalypse
• Musical Gag: A big issue she has with Razor Sharpe was its cheaply-choreographed battles, particularly as it was made to show off the star's fighting abilities. It gets to the point where Allison declares she can choreograph a better fight scene, we then cut to her and her friends fighting with toy guns set to "Ghost Love Score."
  • During the poorly staged fights in Blood Red Moon she takes to singing "fail" to the tune of Eine kleine Nachtmusik.
  • The prologues for each Charmed season convey dread for what's ahead. This culminates in the "Imperial March" playing as the Halliwells Team Power Walk their way out of cancellation in time for Season 8.

  • Patriotic montage songs for each of the American Ninja movies. Except 4. "You don't get one."
  • Whenever there's a particularly cringeworthy one-liner, she cuts to the intro of CSI: Miami.
  • For one-liners that make absolutely no sense, there's the Seinfeld Shrug Take.
  • Charles Solomon Junior's "Hulk Yell." The original clip had CSJ keeping his pimp-hand strong by backhanding his mother. Later editions have William hitting whatever is tormenting him at the moment, including a nightclub sign.
  • Blaring the Howling 5 sting when something Faux Horrific happens.
  • As noted, the *extreme zoom-in* with a blaring music sting is used specifically for banal plot 'twists'; two in succession in her Sherlock Holmes crossover with The Snob prompted him to lampshade appropriately:

  • Her Lady Dragon 2 review climaxes with a stylistically sucky montage of her goofing around with her Cynthia Rothrock movie collection set to Wake me up before you go go
  • She finishes her Teen Sorcery review with some bad dancing set to the song played at the big dance at the end of the film.
  • Roller Samurai Vampire Slayers, a parody of the so-called "Zen filmmaking" style (essentially Throw It In!invoked: The Movie).
• Suckiness Is Painful:
  • During the American Ninja reviews, Allison makes a running gag of dubbing bad music over the fight scenes. American Ninja 4 however is so bad that the last fight scene is accompanied by, rather than music, Allison sobbing.
  • Robot in the Family feels like death. Consider for a moment that Allison loves bad movies, and that that this is one of the few that really hurt her to watch.

• Swiper, No Swiping!: Her main criticism of the Avatars in season 7 of Charmed is that they spend thousands of years planning their takeover, then give up the moment they encounter any resistance to it.

  • From Masterminds: You might remember Vincent Kartheiser as Sean ("Aww!♥") and Connor (wrinkles nose in derision).
  • In the same vein: the Halliwells are seen trolling their own funeral in disguise and complimenting the turnout. Allison snaps at Piper by name, then refers to Paige's skinsuit as "Livia." (Adrienne Wilkinson plays both.) Bitter much?

  • Allison wondered aloud at the lyrical "genius" who composed the lyrics to Black Ninja's theme song; or more accurately, the one lyric.

  • There have been several shots aimed at the movie Gerry, which Allison claims to be the worst film she has ever seen.
  • When Allison's saddened she has not done as many episodes as The Nostalgia Critic, Apollo Z Hack says at least Allison did not come up with Melvin brother of the joker.
  • As Dawn begins her first day of school in Teen Sorcery, Allison gives a narration mocking Twilight. "It's not easy being pretty and liked by everyone."
  • Radu's school report on Jurassic Park.
    "It was a movie directed by Steven Springsteen, who has a band I think. It was adapted from the book Great Expectations, which was written a shit-load of a long time ago.   • Whenever someone tries to extoll the virtues of Charmed's Jerkass gods, we see a repeat of their "unspeakable wrath" bluster from Season 2. (Which later turns out to have been an utterly empty threat, big surprise.)
  • According to official record, Leo died along with the Halliwells in that "big fucking explosion" that shook the house. This despite him careening around the crime scene and hectoring at cops in the previous season. (Charmed S.8) Not a hundred percent sure about your police work there, Lou.
  • When the sisters announce that they're off to train the younger generation of witches, Leo asks how he can help, to which Piper flatly replies, "You don't. We do." Cut to Leo holding a pointer stick (!) and instructing Billie on her spells.

  NChick: What did we eat?
  • In the Kickassia commentary she did with Linkara, Phelous, and Nash, she mentioned her desire to dub fart noises into Spoony's Insano transformation sequence.
• Tomboy and Girly Girl: Girly Girl to the Nostalgia Chick's Tomboy. Although their reviewing choices are reversed. Especially Allison's love for schlocky action movies is not what you'd call Girly.
• Too Happy to Live: Has a meter running in Angel of Fury to measure the amount of badness that will happen to the main character in proportion to how happy they are at the moment.
• Took The Bad Show Seriously:
  • invoked During a CPR rescue, Underage Girlfriend Girl is spotted acting her little heart out, causing Allison to pause the action and address her directly.
  "Y'know, you could half-ass it and still get paid the same."
  • While reviewing "I'm Dangerous Tonight," Allison and Phelous say Mädchen Amick does a better job acting than the movie deserves. They then compliment Amick's acting in the pilot episode of Baywatch, and Riverdale. Then there is a Riverdale clip with the words "Watch Riverdale" on it.
• Totally Radical: She jokes that X-treme Fighter was named this due to a mistaken belief it was 1994, not 2004.
  • He's the hippest happenin' hotcat, yo! ...That's, uh, that's what they say nowadays, right? (Rage and Honor)
  • Shows up again when in her review of Adventures of Bailey, Christmas Hero when a teenager girl says "OMG".
  That's how the children speak these days, right? That's the dealio? Catch you hip cats on the flip side, yo!
• Training Montage:
  • During a montage in Razor Sharpe the review cuts to Allison doing one which ends with her passing out after one sit up.
  • Allison does one in preparation for her Lady Dragon 2 review, set to the music from the first Lady Dragon. We see her exercise her thumb via a DVD remote, box a guy with a sign reading "RICHARD NORTON" taped to his chest, and bench-press her cat.
• Troperiffic: Being a show about critical deconstruction of B-movies, this is pretty much unavoidable.
• Troll: Her...weirder videos like her Cloud Cuckoo Lander Top 10 lists and her April Fools' Day review for Star Wars: A New Hope are pretty much her trolling the viewers. And the viewers love it!
• Two Words: Added Emphasis: She-Wolf of London
  "I've got four words for you: Werewolf on a plane."
• Unfortunate Implications: Invoked during Alien Apocalypse, she says "There's nothing wrong with the only black character in the film being a slave."
• Un-person:
  • Following her dismissal from Channel Awesome, all of her videos were removed from the site shortly afterwards along with most of her appearances in site-produced content (such as the Nostalgia Critic review of Simon Sez.) Her episode of "Shut Up And Talk" was never released as a result.
  • Following her falling-out with Brad Jones in 2018, she has rendered all of his appearances in her videos unavailable publicly, though her appearances in his videos remain, as do mutual appearances in others' videos. She did the same with her review of A Talking Cat!?!, a crossover featuring Doug Walker, around this time after having fallen out with him some years prior.
• The Un-Twist: invoked Allison really hates how Howling IV attempts to present the story as a mystery, despite the fact that this is the fourth movie in the series and the audience is well aware this is a werewolf movie.
• Unwanted Harem: A Running Gag during her Channel Awesome days, with several of the male reviews (but mostly Todd in the Shadows) attracted to and/or stalking her In-Universe.
• Unusual Euphemism:
  • "Holy shitballs on a motherfucking horse stick!" (Charmed S.6).
  • S.8 has "pissnuggets!", "shitwaffles!", and, "What a nacho platter full of fuck."
• Vampire Vords: Her impression of Radu from Subspecies.
• Vaudeville Hook: Note Shannen Doherty getting the hook in the Charmed Season Four title card. (The same thing happens to Kaley Cuoco in the Season Eight card.)
• Victorious Chorus:
  • Daryl, after six years, finally being given a story arc. Hallelujah! (Charmed S.6)
  • In a macabre turn of events, she played this again after "Neighbor Dan" Gordon was retroactively declared missing or dead (!!) in Season 7.
  • This happened again when Mitch's son, Hobie — boasting about his survival training — fell into a sinkhole mid-sentence. (Baywatch: "Message in a Bottle")
• Villainous Incest: Averted in Witchcraft, despite being about lovers reincarnated as a mother and son.
  "My question is, why did John and Elizabeth need Grace [to have John's baby]? I mean, let's not pretend the mother-and-son thing would bother them. They're evil and stuff, why not cut out the middle man?"
• Villain Protagonist: Her take on the Charmed Ones in later seasons, to the point where she jokes that "Anakin-ing" the sisters as the true villains all along in Season 8 would have been a vast improvement.
• Visible Boom Mic: Has a counter on the screen every time the boom mic appears in shot in Razor Sharpe.
• Voodoo Shark: In Vampire Dog, Fang claims he can only eat red Jello because when he was first turned into a vampire, he only ate the hoofs and antlers of other animals. Allison points out that: a) this doesn't explain why he has to eat red Jello specifically, and b) if Fang can only sustain himself by eating collagen, then there are many other foods he could eat that contain the protein.
• Waxing Lyrical:
  • Subspecies IV: Look who's back. Back again. Marin's back. Tell a friend.
  • Radu quotes "99 Problems" in one of his reviews. (Visitors From Outer Space) In Subspecies, he serenades Michelle with a song from Grease.
    "You're ze one zat I vant. Ooh, ooh, ooh."
  • Witchcraft 2: The Temptress: How many witches must a man melt down before you call him a man?
  • When William's car is used to mow down his wife, he's got no choice but to keep quiet about it. William would do anything for love, but he won't do that. (William later quotes Rick Astley at the end of in Witchcraft 3.)
  • Speaking of Rick, her description of the Bizarro World Rick Astley in Charmed's "Evil" universe.
    "Always gonna give you up. Always gonna let you down. Always gonna run around and desert you."
    • We actually get a glimpse of him in Season 8: Wearing a beard, a handlebar mustache, and an eyepatch.
  • "Father David Byrne" eulogizing a redshirt in Withcraft XII.

• Wearing a Flag on Your Head: In celebration of July 4th, Allison wear a gigantic stars & stripes bow. (And lovely blue eyeshadow to complement her red locks.)
• We Meet Again: Another Cynthia Rothrock and Richard Norton teamup? Must be Tuesday! (China O'Brien)
  "Oh ho Richard Norton, we meet again. You're not going to try to pull off an American accent? Not even just a little? You're just the random Australian guy again?"
• Werewolf Theme Naming: Played for Laughs in a crossover with Vampire Reviews—Maven calls up Allison on the assumption that she's a werewolf because of her nom de plume Obscurus Lupa.
• When She Smiles: You occasionally get a moment where Allison is down in the dumps, having written off the movie as totally bad... and then something magical happens, something you'll never find in a mainstream films, and she's reminded of why she loves Z-movies. And we're reminded of why we love her. QED.
• Wire Fu: After a lackluster example in Xtreme Fighter she comments "just because you have wirework available doesn't mean you should use it."
• With Lyrics: In the A Talking Cat!?! review, she and The Nostalgia Critic sing lyrics to the movie's instrumental opening theme. Turns out Allison is a good singer.
• Why Don't Ya Just Shoot Him?:
  • When reviewing the Phantasm movies, Allison wonders why the Tall Man does not just kill Reggie.
  Tall Man: Small man, your end approaches but not yet.
  Allison: Why? Why can't you kill him now? How do you know when his time is? Are you psychic now? You can't make up powers all willie nillie.
  • Allison is baffled during Hard to Kill when the villain's henchmen wait until Storm comes out of a seven year coma before trying to kill him again, instead of finishing him off when he was vulnerable.
  • Likewise in Magic Island, she questions why Blackbeard didn't just kill Jack and Lily after getting the treasure map from them.
• Woman of a Thousand Voices: Allison has an impressive vocal range, giving multiple characters very distinct voices, even if she is doing so in a mocking tone.
• Worst. Whatever. Ever!: Gotta Get a Gift For Splinter. The worst Christmas song — nay, the worst song ever.
  • "I'm not gonna say Golddigger is the most useless robot in the history of film, but... Yeah that's exactly what I'm saying."
  • See the page topper quote. For context, the scene revolves around two mages fighting over a 'levitating' magic staff, which the hero repeatedly bends down to pick up. To use as a blunt instrument.
    "Worst. Fight. Everrr."
  • In the third season of Charmed, the sisters' dead relatives are brought back as exposition-spouting ghosts who can be summoned at will. The anticlimatic nature of this plot convenience, played to the hilt in Grandma's case, isn't helped by Victor's nonplussed, Munsters-style delivery of, "A'ight, who brought my ex-wife back from the dead?" This is the worst line of TV dialogue she's ever heard.
• X Meets Y:
  • The masks worn by the villains of Lady Dragon 2, a cross between Doctor Doom and Jason Voorhees.
  (sweetly) "You know, stupid!"
  • She-Wolf in London, a.k.a. ''Moonlighting with Werewolves."
• You Keep Using That Word: She remarks that despite the film being called Pterodactyl, the creatures featured are in fact pteranodons, which are not dinosaurs.
• Younger Than They Look: In her Undefeatable commentary, she says that she looks about 30 in it, but was actually 19 at the time of the video, and is 21 at the time of the commentary.
