Nippon Television Network Corporation, AKA Nippon TV (NTV or Nitele for short), is a television station (call sign JOAX-DTV) based in the Shiodome area of Minato, Tokyo, Japan and is controlled by the Yomiuri Shimbun publishing company. On the air since 1953, NTV is the oldest commercial television station in not only Japan, but all of Asia, and is legendary for its long-running station ident of an infant dove attempting to spread its wings and fly (which predated the American NBC Peacock by several years).

Many of its shows (particularly their anime output) are actually co-produced by their Osaka affiliate, Yomiuri TV and have aired on Nippon TV by proxy (and vice versa).

On September 21st, 2023, Nippon TV would acquire a 42.3% stake in Studio Ghibli. They will become the largest shareholder in the company and it marks the end of Ghibli's 18 year run as an independent company. The acquisition is described as mostly a way to help Ghibli out on the management end with the creative end staying largely the same.
