Nat Geo Wild is a spinoff channel of National Geographic Channel geared on animals and nature. It first split off in Hong Kong in 2006 (with other countries following suit) but the American split didn't happen until 2010.
The channel covers a large range of wildlife documentaries, Edutainment Shows, and animal-related reality television. Topics range from documentaries, veterinary shows, pet related shows, and various others.
Nat Geo Wild is considered a rival station to Animal Planet and it has several similar shows to Animal Planet. However, Nat Geo Wild has more documentaries than post-Network Decay Animal Planet.
