NCsoft is a Korean MMORPG developer and publisher, best known (for certain definitions of "best") in America for publishing (and ultimately cancelling) City of Heroes and Tabula Rasa; however, before that, NCSoft developed and ran the two biggest worldwide MMOs before World of Warcraft: Lineage and Lineage 2. They also pioneered, to an extent, the "pay once and play forever" model of MMOs, backing up Arena Net as their publisher for Guild Wars.
They service, or formerly serviced the following games:
- Aion: The Tower of Eternity (originally a sub-based MMO that has since turned free to play)
- Auto Assault (Shut down as of 2007)
- Blade & Soul
- City of Heroes (Shut down as of 2012)
- Exteel (Shut down as of 2010)
- Guild Wars
- Guild Wars 2
- Lineage 2 (originally a sub-based MMO that has since turned free to play)
- MasterXMaster (a MOBA game featuring characters from other NCSoft titles as Guest Fighters, closed down at the beginning of 2018)
- Tabula Rasa (Shut down as of 2009)
- WildStar (originally a sub-based MMO that has since turned free to play; shut-down as of 2018)
