Tropes associated with her work:
- Dyeing for Your Art: She shaved her signature long blonde hair off into a buzz cut for Music (2021). Due to the three-year editing process, it had all grown back by the time the film was actually released.
- Everyone Loves Blondes: Much like her mom. In fact, she is one of the triumphant cases during the Turn of the Millennium.
- Ms. Fanservice: Most of her roles.
- Those Two Actors: Glass Onion reunites her with both Kathryn Hahn, her co-star in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Leslie Odom Jr., her co-star in Music (2021).
- Typecasting: She plays a non-maternal woman who suddenly finds herself as a caregiver for a teenage family member, and has to learn and grow because of it, in both Raising Helen and Music (2021).
